On 04/23/2024 I was involved in a minor traffic incident in which my vehicle hydroplaned while driving north bound on the I-5 near freeway marker 73 & one mile south of the freeway offramp **************. Upon calling 911 & California High Patrol arving 10 minutes later & in which there were two other incidents of the same naturing occurring with in a half a mile from mi incident. In any event CHP called a ******************* in which it took them ************************************************************************** while attempting to waive him down but to no avail. I waited for about 15 minutes & then placed a second 911 call to ******* explained to the dispatch personal that the towtruck passed by & didn't stop & I requested a second call to the ***************** About 15 minutes later the truck arrived & during a verbal conversation & of which I was ultimately quoted a price of $489.00 if I picked up the vehicle from there tow yard the follwing day. I rented a trailer & headed out at about 9:00 am the fowlling morning & arriving at approximately 11:00 am only to learn the tow yard location was closed. This was clearly a waste of ************* The facts are as follows 1)my vehicle is being held for ****** in the amount of $1,180.00 2) No invoice or written agreement with or without pricing was offered. 3) A verbal agreement is just as legal as a written agreement. 4) Charging by the hour is total is without a doubt unethical & inappropriate not to mention the fact that the Towtruck driver initially passed me up & didn't return for over a half hour later & soon after placing a second call. (Shady business practices if you ask me) 5) The unprofessionalism by Management to refuse to provided in written estimate prior to service is illegal & unrighteous. 6) A verbal agreement is legal tender. 7) Fraud will & should be dealt with accordingly.
