You guys should spend some time teaching staff how to respect the lgbtq community. 7 grievances later and nothing has changed. You can do so much better. I have never been deliberately misgendered this many times in my life. I am not the only one this has happened to. You claim the shelters are healing places for the "mind, body and soul" but since I've been here I have spiraled downward mentally thanks to some the staff members and security guards.

Someone had to say this. I'm not going to sit back and let it happen. I know the staff at the north Hollywood tiny home community know exactly who I am talking about. The fact that she would rather be on the streets than live inside a transphobic environment surly tells you something. Hope of the valley has so much potential... we need more people like *****. The fact that you hired ***** comes to show you're capable of hiring people who actually care.

Hope of the valley is not a safe place. The videos they post make it seem like this is a safe haven but it's really not. I don't ask for much. I don't expect life to get handed to me... but this is basic respect and human decency. *** knows my situation, the director knows my situation but yet nothing is being done. I have such an easy case with the ACLU and LGBTQ center lawyers but I would sacrifice the roof over my head.

The suicide rate for trans people is as such: 70% have thought about it at one time or another - 40% have attempted. Why? Because of **** like this. This is an absolutely horrible place with god awful staff. Until the staff at HOTV gets their stuff together, anybody who funds this place supports their anti-lgbtq rhetoric.

Remember - this isn't just happening to me. This has happened to another individual at a HOTV shelter. I will fight this until it ceases completely, if I have to take it to court with the stack of evidence I have... so be it.
