I was towed from a strip mall parking lot in *********** where I was a patron and had been parked less than an hour. It was a wrongful towing. My car was illegally taken (stolen) and I was forced to pay a huge amount of money (extorted) that I didn't have in order to recover it. I am now unable to pay rent this month and at immediate risk of becoming homeless. I want a refund at bare minimum. If a refund is not provided, I will be pursuing a case in small claims court.Customer Answer

On top of the manager **** being highly disrespectful They do not take legal and proper steps when releasing a vehicle I didnt use my proper name while signing any paperwork or documents as well as my identification was not checking if I was the proper owner of the vehicle as long as I had the key and paid they gave my the vehicle. Her complaint was she wants full refund because her car was not released properly so the answer to that is. As long as the customer has a key to the vehicle and theres no hold on the vehicle by the police department we must release the vehicle to the driver

July 17 I was towed from **** in the box after I bought food I went to the shop next door and while I was gone they towed my car. The people in the restaurant said they asked everyone which car was there's since I was next door they towed my car. When I went to pick up my car they would give no information or let me see my car. Once I paid I noticed they damaged my car in two places they said they are not responsible.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: i spoke to the manager they said they did not call towing company, the people who towed my vehicle came into the restaurant and arbitrarily started asking who's car belongs to who because i was not there they towed my vehicle within 10 minutes and damaged my rim and side where they hooked my car.

I'm writing this here because the parties I've tried contacting either aren't getting back to me or don't have proper reasoning for my tow. My vehicle was towed from my apartment parking garage on June 13th, 2024. My vehicle was wrongfully towed because I pay for monthly parking in this garage and have my permit displayed clearly. I spoke with my building managers and they said they had no part in this and were unaware. I then asked Metro towing the reason as to why they towed my vehicle and they said security called it in. My building had no security that night. So whoever "security" is failed to see my permit and called the tow in. Metro towing failed to see my permit and continued to wrongfully tow my vehicle.Business Response

Metro gave him the authorization form. With the information of the person that signed for the vehicle to be towed.
It could have been that he either parked in a different parking spot or in the fire hydrant zone.Customer Answer

Perfect Parking is aware and permitted vehicles are able to park with their permits in display. Please speak with Perfect Parking as I was parked in an authorized spot. On 03/11/24 my car was towed by Metro Towing **** Business address: ************************************************. Telephone **************. I would like to mention that were my car was parked had more than one towing company sign. I contacted both companies, They keep telling me they did not have my car I provided vin number, plate number etc., then i called the police department to ask for help, They told me to contact this company again, Metro towing. The guy on the phone (who never gave me his name) after I informed him that the police **** said to call you he said let me look for your car again but you must call after lunch, I waited 1hr and called back, this time they confirm having it, He said:" you have to pay $560.00 cash", I said why cash? I may need to use credit card for that amount, He replied:" if its by credit card or debit is ******" I ask for billing details but he said when once you are here we give it to you, but if the car stay another night it will be $150.00, I rushed to borrowed money and I drove from la ****** to ***********, s***e the guy said they are closing at 6:00PM. I paid to them cash and i had to DEMAND my receipt s***e they did not want it to give it to me.Metro towing *** is overcharging customers, lying to keep the cars longer time so we need to pay more money, ************ can pick your car anytime during day and night but guess what they had limit hours for people to repossess their car, They are getting cash no to pay for taxes, why would they ask for cash and refuse to provide receipt in first place, they are confusing people by not having correct display sign on the locations were they served. They speak Spanish but they do not want to help you in Spanish, the guy that helped me at the location was a Latino.I hereby request to get this company METRO TOWING investigated, God knows how many people so far they repo too and for one day and 1/2 make customers to pay their one week hard work, so injustice, someone has to overlook this type of repo- businesses. City collect good taxes from them, but if they get cash what are you getting and allowing this injustices to happen.Business Response

I am writing to file a formal complaint against Metro Towing **** regarding their unlawful towing service. On 03/04/2024, my vehicle, a Tesla Model 3 , was towed by Metro Towing **** from the apartment garage I am currently residing. The company charged me $502.84 for the tow, which I believe was conducted illegally.Firstly, I encountered the tow truck driver removing my car while the truck was not yet on the public road. Despite my attempts to communicate with the driver, they ignored me and proceeded to tow my vehicle in front of me.Secondly, there was no clearly posted warning signage on the second level of the garage where my vehicle was parked. As per the ********** Vehicle Code, adequate signage must be displayed to notify individuals of the towing regulations in the area.Furthermore, Metro Towing **** failed to provide me with a valid towing permit upon request, which is required by law.These actions by Metro Towing **** demonstrate a blatant disregard for the regulations outlined in the ********** Vehicle Code and have resulted in unjustified financial burden on my part.I respectfully request that the Better Business Bureau investigate this matter and take appropriate action against Metro Towing **** to rectify the situation and prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.Thank you for your attention to this matter.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:1,By law your driver needs to stop towing the car if the owner is at the place in person. I tried to stop the drive but he pretend he didn't see me and hit the pedal to run away.
2, Both you or the building manager don't have valid towing permit upon request, which is required by law.
3, My car is a FWD car, and it can't be towed by having the front wheel on the ground, there is an alarm on it and the driver just did a wrong job, presumably cause mechanic issues.

On 1/9/2024, my car was towed by Metro Towing **** from the Yoshinoya ******** and ******** parking lot. My car was towed after parking in the spot for only 30 minutes, violating ** Vehicle Code ***** which allows a 1 hour grace ****** in customer only parking lots. If the business is able to provide me with a written authorization to tow my car (required by CA Vehicle Code *****) then they would not be liable for this issue and I could go to court with ********* instead. However, I have repeatedly tried to obtain an authorization form (on 1/10, 1/26. 1/27) and been denied or dismissed each time. I was told to come on 1/27 to see the manager and obtain the form but was then told he was not there once I had driven there. This company is unlawful in its business practices. They charged me over $840 to retrieve my car after they towed my car after receiving a price of $483. The employee told me that the person who told me the price was wrong. Ive never been more disrespected in my life. This place should be shut down for its predatory practices. I went to ********* and parked, before I ordered I use the restroom and thats when my car got towed but the sign says one hour parking for ********* customers and it had only been about 30 minutes when they took it now they want me to pay $435 and they took my car to a place that is 30 minutes away.
