We hired Kangaroo Van Lines for our cross country move in July 22. They failed to come on the day they were supposed to pack and didn't come until the next day - which we had to be out of the house that day as required by our closing agreement. Upon arrival, the manager advised ** that they EXPECTED a tip. Our estimate was also way off and the new estimate was double the original. At this point they had all of our worldly possessions loaded on their truck and we were at their mercy. They QR coded every item BUT at drop off failed to scan any items. There was zero accountability for our items. After our initial drop, we received a call from Kangaroo reporting that they had found a large amount of our items still in the warehouse & would be sending them to us. When we were finally able to unpack, we found many items damaged & realized many items were missing. The packing was so careless. Our desktop computer was in a box with no padding, and had snapped at the base rendering it useless. Our peloton bike had a broken water bottle *************** mount. Our big screen TV was poorly packaged, & the screen was shattered. Many pictures with broken glass, dishes and kitchen glasses broken, artifacts and irreplaceable items shattered. Two big items that were missing included a cheetah chair and a double bed box springs. We received a call about two months after the initial drop off telling ** they found our cheetah chair in a vault & would be delivering it. It is now over six months later, & still no chair. We are also waiting for our $79 settlement check. Unfortunately, we chose not to take out additional insurance because we thought Kangaroo Van Lines was a reputable company. Therefore, we had to claim our broken, damaged and missing items by weight, and they pay sixty cents per pound. We filed a claim based on principle, knowing it wouldnt come close to covering the costs we incurred to replace items. Find another moving company that cares.
