      am writing because my USC **** Medicine medical bill for an office visit amounts to over $266. I have been waiting over a 7 month from a response for billing. I was told that I would only be responsible for my copayment for a specialist visit. I was not informed that this visit was going to be billed with the code as if I was seen in the hospital. I asked multiple questions before making the appointment for this doctor in regards to my co-payment and what the insurance would cover, and at no time did they inform me that they were going to code this visit like they did. I work for a medical office and we are supposed to disclose if it is going to be billed as anything other than a specialist or professional office visit. I am requesting that someone call me as soon as possible to rectify this situation. If I would have known that this office or network codes and bills in this way, I would have never made an appointment. I spoke with my insurance at the time and they also told me that the way it was billed was overbilling. I made multiple attempts to speak with a supervisor for over 7 months and nobody called me back until today when I spoke with ******. I have been waiting 7 months for a response to my situation and I just now got a response which is unacceptable. I am requesting that someone email and call me in regards to this, because I don't understand how patients are not told that they are going to be billed as not just a specialist but a hospital specialist visit. ******************************

      I've been in ***'s care for over two years now, and am proud to say I am a cancer survivor. While the quality of care at *** is amazing the operation regarding insurance approvals could not be worse or more frustrating. Every single procedure, scan, or medication administration we've had requires hours of arguing with their approvals teams to get insurance the requisite information to deem things medically necessary. At least half of the appointments I've had scheduled, I'll show up and be turned away because insurance approvals weren't successfully secured. My wife and I spend 3-4 four hours per procedure trying to navigate the red tape to get care. If you're in **, save your self the headache and go to Cedars, ****, ************** Dignity- because the red tape at **** is so bad it practically violates the Hypocritic Oath.
