I keep getting letters from this company demanding payment for a service I did not use. Now the bill includes a collection fee. I am pretty sure this is a scam and have treated it as one and have not reached out to them. It seems to me they would reference a bogus credit card number used for the original service or even a date for said service.

Spectrum Billing Services (***) operates a national pay-per-call telephone network offering incoming callers entertainment and information services. According to the terms of service on these pay-per-call transactions, the calling party is advised that if the charge incurred for a call transaction fails to settle on the credit card or debit card presented by the caller for payment, then the party will be billed directly for the service provided.

The charge directed to **** ********* was the result of a call made to the pay-per-call services on March 4, 2025. To access the service, the caller presented for payment for this transaction a debit **** card ending in the four digits 0431 issued through ********************************* NA. The call originated from the telephone number (425) 80x-xxx22. The charge incurred for the transaction was declined by the payment card presented by the caller. An invoice was thereafter directed to Mr. ********* based on a telephone number lookup service which had identified him as the subscriber of the telephone number originating this call transaction.

Following receipt of this complaint, the transaction was reviewed. Following this review, the charge that was previously sent by *** to Mr. ********* has been reduced to a zero balance. Mr. ********** information has been removed from the March 4th transaction and he will not be sent any further billings.

There was no reporting of this transaction to any credit reporting agencies.

I have received several letters outlining "charges" from calling cards and the requested payment of initially 59 dollars to settle these calls. I have never used calling cards not have I placed any of the three calls listed on the "invoice". After the initial invoice, I have received two more mailings, which now increased the total amount they are charging to *****. Having read through many similar complaints on Reddit and BBB, it can be determined that this is clearly a scam. I therefore also filed a complaint via the *** and do hope that this "business" will be shut down very soon.

I received an invoice from Spectrum Billing Services on 5/14/2025 that is dated 5/6/2025 for a calling card that I did not purchase, request, or even know about. The transaction dates are April 7th 2025 and April 9th 2025. The associated "from" phone number is one that I previously had about 8 years ago, in which the account with that phone number has been closed (closed for 8 years). This number is no longer associated with me, as the account was closed years ago. I have no reason to, and wouldn't ever use a calling card. The invoice states that the charges did not settle on my credit card. I do not even have a credit card. I have no open credit card accounts. I have never even heard of Spectrum Billing Services, or their calling cards. Whoever is using this number now, which I am not and have no account for, is responsible for these charges and not me. I researched this company and found on the BBB website that this company uses a third party lookup service to conduct its billing. Whatever service they are using for their information is not up to date and inaccurate. I should not have to pay for calls for a phone number I do not use and have no account for. I have noticed similar complaints that the BBB has helped people resolve, so I am asking if you can help me resolve this matter. Thank you.

I have received a bill in the mail from Spectrum Billing Services for $26.95. I have never heard of Spectrum Billing Services, nor have I ever used them. Its saying that its a calling service bill from a call made on 3/2/25 at 11:29pm that lasted four minutes. The phone number that its showing it came from is not my phone number and the last four digits of the credit card that was originally used does not match any of my card numbers. I want this removed and out of my name.

Im unaware of the original date of initial contact but it's been going on for the past roughly 6 months going back and forth with this business, they sent me a letter stating i owed them money for some service that was provided, when questioned what service was provided they said they were calling to collect on behalf of some phone chat hotline which ive never used, i explained that to the lady and said it might be fraud or a scam to which she replied she had voice recordings so i asked to listen to what she had and after playing the feedback i commented on how it sounded like an Indian or someone else other then myself and she hesitantly agreed and said she would send it to a voice analyzer, fast forward 2 months and im still receiving calls and mail correspondence saying i owe them a total of $114.57 including initial amount owed and past due or late fees. When i explained it wasnt me and that they had the wrong guy or i thought they were scamming me she got defensive so i hung up. Last letter ive recieved from them was date marked 04/25/2025. Ive tried calling them and telling them it wasnt me and that it was probably a scam or identity theft and honestly i have no idea how they got my home address or anything but id like it to stop or move to other government agencies or courthouse if need be.
