This was supposed to be an ac tune up which you guys offered as complimentary and it's a complete disaster. My ac was working perfectly fine and now it won't turn on. In addition to that, a breaker was tripped by your people and now my wifi power is out, my furnace won't work, and my garage door won't open. It's going to be 103 tomorrow and I'm 6 months pregnant and I have two kids under the age of 7. Mind you this isn't the first time you guys messed up either, last time you guys canceled my appointment for my water heater and I was stuck with cold water for another two weeks. I do not recommend this place for anything, find another place with more experience and accountability

Every time a technician comes out and I talk to them about things that have happened in the past, I get the same story of "oh, those were old people and they were let go because they were bad". I suspect that Barker is either burning through people or rotating people to complaining customers. However, my complaints start when my HVAC system was first installed. The access area for my attic was pretty small and the unit they installed barely fit after taking it completely apart and reassembling it in the attic. This damaged the attic access pretty bad and I told the tech that I wanted them to make it look decent again. They told me that they had a team of people that do that thing and they would be coming out in a week or so to take care of it as he took pictures of it and filed for the work. Well time came and went and nothing happened. I called Barker and the office told me that they don't do repairs. Every time a tech came out I made complaints until finally the dispatcher got tired of hearing from me and sent someone to get some spray foam to fix the problem for about $10. I joined the friends and family plan to save 20% on install and was told that i could cancel at any time, but when I tried I was told that it would void my MFG warranty. About 18months after the unit was installed and just after the install warranty went away, parts suddenly started going bad based on pictures or reports and I needed to replace them. Each time labor costs were about 800-1000 per hour. Some of these parts were 20 years old and probably should have been replaced on install, but were not. Some of the work done was just cleaning, which I question the need for. In any case the concept of 1000$ for labor is insane. I am now moving to another HVAC company that is willing to charge me 1/3rd for the same work. I have other issues that I could mention, but I just don't have enough space to write them.

I had a technician come and look at an AC issue and he recommended to replace the whole system since it was 22 years old. $18K later the new unit was installed and had the same problem, not enough air coming out. The technician didn't go under the house to see if there where duct issues and the day after the install, CalRaters came to the house to inspect the install and through put in the vents. This guy (CalRaters) went under the house and discovered a major pipe disconnected from the primary air feed. I already wrote the check to Barker and asked if they could fix this problem?. He stated they wanted another $1100.00 to inspect the ducts. This is completely a sham, to inspect/fix a HVAC system and don't go under the house, now I have a new system and had to contact another company to fix the duct problem.

Hired them to replace my a/c unit back in May. The guy who wrote out the estimate was great. The install went seamless. The unit works fantastic. However, despite being installed in May and being paid for in full in May they have neglected to close out the permit. A permit I need to sell the house. Week after week I have called. Ive been repeatedly told they would come - waiting to run home on a moments notice. Week after week after week they fail to show up. Nobody has ever called me to explain what the hold up is. Its a shame because as I said the beginning went smooth. Now Im down to the wire and at their mercy. If anyone knows someone capable of actually accomplishing the permit within their company Id love their help and be willing to take down my review. Heres hoping someone cares enough there to finish this because Im willing at this point to make a huge huge scene as publicly as possible.

I purchased a new HVAC system from Barker in May of 2020 for $15,212. It was the height of Covid and the owner *********** Barker came to my home claiming he was selling me a state of the art energy efficient best in the business HVAC system but instead he sold me a defective system that hasnt worked correctly from day one. They have come out to repair it no less than 7 times in the past 3 years, 3 in the last year alone all due to complete system failure. Last Nov I was without heat for over 10 days and it was in the 50s inside my home. July I was without A/C for a week with the temps inside my home at 90+ degrees. I even had to resort to tin foil on my windows. What did Barker do about it? Absolutely nothing but give me excuses. This latest system failure is exactly like the one a year ago and almost to the day but this time theyre troubleshooting through the manufacturer (*******) and I was told I had to wait for a part that would take 1 week. So, of course, I hear nothing from them a week later so I call and they change it to 10 days. I then get a call back after that informing me this part that has no guarantee of actually fixing the problem is now going to possibly take a month. How is it acceptable to have a brand new HVAC system but be expected to go more than a month with no heat in the winter and Barker seems to think thats just fine. After telling someone in the office how unbelievably unacceptable this ALL is they dropped off an old space heater with broken wheels. When I said I would need more because my home is ****sq ft they did drop off 2 new ones. So I left a message to have to owner call and was told hes at a conference but would call Monday. Of course he didnt call Monday so I called this morning at 9:30am he never called back and I called back at 4pm and they said he left. They sold me a lemon. I want it replaced for one that actually turns on when you turn it on or I want my 15k refunded so I can purchase from a reputable company.
