I ask this company to help with a debt resolution, which they did not do, so I asked for a refund and it has been almost 6 months and they still have not refunded my money despite numerous attempts of contacting them. They say they have a new computer system and are behind and that my refund is still pending despite numerous escalations by them because it has taken so long. April of last year I signed up with **** from this company stating that they could legally dispute my debts and have them removed from my credit. I was told that any items they couldn't get removed from my account they would negotiate and settle with that creditor. I received a notice of a law suit from one of the creditors today. I consulted an attorney in my local area today who said this sounds like a scam and a bunch of smoke and mirrors and I have to agree. I have been paying these people over ******** a month and have seen no results other than a lawsuit. They were supposed to call me back today at 4 pm and I have yet to hear from them. They are taking advantage of people by misleading them. On one of my most recent calls I even asked them if they are unable to remove the debt would they negotiate with the debtor and was told yes. I found out today when I received the lawsuit that not only do I have to pay them ******* a month but will also have to pay the amount their attorney settles with my debtor. THIS IS A COMPLETE SCAM!!! I have health issues and due to all the medications I am on I am not all cognitively there. No matter what they say absolutely do not sign up for this.Business Response

I originally requested a refund March 21st but the company's system took several days to process though it was deducted from my account. The company had no proof of any actual activates outside of cease and desist letters and I couldn't afford to risk being out of funds and still having to pay with their methods. The refund process has been even worse. They can't give a time frame on it being processed and it's been 2 months. I've been told the delay was to switching systems, they're taken in order received (how many people are requesting refunds?) and a thousand generic answers, again, much like with trying to get updates with their services. It's a scam and they're withholding my funds unjustly.Business Response

Elite did nothing more that drive me into bankruptcy they took care of I dont know if they even settled one on my behalf so I filed bankruptcy and I requested I refund of their services and received no replay other that they said when I fired them for lack of service they told me they go back to each one of my Creditors and tell them Im no longer under their service I feel free to sue me with derogative writing this company did nothing besides drive me into bankruptcy and now Im gonna file a complaint against them because they didnt do their job as requested. Elite legal services was helping me with debt consolidation I made all payments on time from 7/1/24 to March 25/25 I couldnt make my two last payments due to health issues and they cancelled me, I called and asked what was in my escrow account and they said my refund was $1800.00 and would be sending me an email to sign to release my money, this is going on week 11 now and still nothing . I have called and was told it would be another weeks than 6 weeks than there are changes being made to their system so its going to take even longer. And now the refunds they say are first come first serve that they take everything in order, I hired the company to help me with my debt and now Im even further behind because they wont give me my money so I can pay my own debt, late fees I would like to hire an attorney for breech of contract but not sure how, Ive contacted the Mo. *************** and they cant help me because their company is not in the state of ******** where I reside, they just keep making excuse after excuse and I dont know where to turn next, I was paying $296.64 /monthly Im my contract it says refunds could take up to10 days to process,Initial Complaint

I received an unsolicited call from a representative for Elite Legal offering to reduce or eliminate two (2) debts of mine, totaling over $50,000. Elite Legal had me pay them a monthly fee of over $500/month and urged me to stop paying on both loans (even though I was current with my payments). Bottom line? I paid them over $10,000 that resulted in constant debt collector calls, a tremendous drop in my credit score (that then impacted other purchases I had financed) and a lawsuit filed by the creditor!!! My husband is a banking finance lawyer. He didnt even know about this debt until things went totally sideways with the guidance of Elite Legal. Now that he has been briefed, he is beside himself and considers this a clear case of tortious interference with contractual relations. Bottom line is that Elite Legals advice to me ruined my credit and I am now paying a lot more per month on my car finance agreement due to the damage Elite Legal caused me. I got a missed call about a preapproved hardship loan. This was a solicitor calling from Elite Legal saying my credit was too bad and wants a monthly fee to raise my score to get the hardship loan. That I need start monthly payments with them. Nobody with bad credit is qualified for loans. This company is getting people to sign up with the with the false promise of making them eligible for a hard ship loan later. Through the entire first part of the phone call we spoke about getting $8k to pay of debts. An my monthly fee would be around $300 a month. This person was so sure guaranteeing me the hardship $8k now I signed with elite for $265 a month. This is not write to switch up an entire 30 minute conversation to pay us and well you signed so now your stuck with us and you dont qualify for the hardship. I reached out demanding to cancel the monthly payments. That I dont want hem fixing my credit because the came in under false pretenses. This is a joke to solicit someone say you qualify. Then get transferred after I gave my social security number. Elite Legal is just lawyers playing word games over the phone for a monthly payment. I want out of this contract I signed today. They are con artists! I dont want to pay them monthly to fix my credit.Business Response

I am filing this formal complaint against Elite Legal Practice for misconduct, misrepresentation, and failure to uphold ethical and professional standards in their handling of my legal matter. I paid a total of $4,493.73 for legal services that were either poorly executed or not delivered at all.Details of the Complaint:1.Unfulfilled Promises and Lack of Communication:I was promised regular updates every four months via scheduled phone calls. These calls never occurred. I had to continuously reach out on my own for updates.I was told I could not receive progress updates via email, which severely limited transparency and access to information regarding my case.2.Minimal and Inadequate Legal Work:For the amount paid, the actual work completed consisted of only three or four letters sent to the involved companiesfar below what I reasonably expected based on our agreement.3.Misinformation During Enrollment:When I signed up, I was led to believe that the firm would provide robust legal defense in court and work to negotiate my liabilities down to around 50%.These assurances were never followed through in practice.4.Negligent Court Representation:The attorney who appeared on my behalf for a court summons did not contact me ahead of time to discuss the facts or context of my ******* was only during a second phone call for the 2nd summons that I had the opportunity to share key informationafter the first hearing had already occurred.5.Unjust Billing and Denied Refund Request:Considering the lack of comprehensive service, miscommunication, and misrepresentation, the fee charged is not justified.I initially requested a full refund. I am now requesting a partial refund of no less than $3,493 of the total amount paid, which I believe is reasonable under the circumstances.Business Response

After 20 months of payments with Elite I was sued by one of the creditors that was in the plan that I had set up with this company. After reaching out to Elite I had found out that I would be sent to a different attorney to be represented and would have a separate payment for this settlement I would need to reach with this company. I then found out that ******* this 20 months I had paid Elite $4,857 to send about 25 template letters to credit bureaus. All of these letters were unsuccessful. In my original call with Elite I was told that if I was not happy I would be refunded, I now found out that was a lie. I will admit that I should have read the agreement more carefully. I will also say that I find it hard to believe that all these people simply misunderstood what they were told on their onboarding call. I think they were lied to to make the sale and you do not want to admit that. I asked to listen to my call and was told no. i find this response unacceptable. I asked on many occasions to speak to someone as you can see in my emails and no one ever seemed to call when they said they would but now that I file a complaint you will call me? How is that going to solve anything. You take advantage of people who are desperate to get out of debt and make their situation worse as is evident by the many complaints on this website. You can stand by your work all you want what you do is wrong and you should know that. Your own attorneys told me that more letters would most likely not work and I would get sued as I did in April as you can see in the attached documents. You should refund me as you mislead me and took advantage of me. I am in a wore financial situation because of your company and you know it.

This is the only time I am asking to communicate in writing because I have lost all respect and trust in your company. I do have proof of your company saying that you would call and no call would come. I would have to call you. How very professional of you and is that how you earn the money paid to you? You know that what you did was misleading and that you have put me in a worse financial situation. You did not handle your fiduciary responsibilities responsibility. As attorneys you did not give me the best legal advice available. You did not act in my best interest but your own. That is my problem with your company and what you are not acknowledging.
