About 1 year ago, I was contacted by Alleviate Tax to help me with my tax issues. I am on a payment plan with the *** for taxes I was unable to pay. I pay about $275 per month.I was told by **** ****** that he cvould eliminate my tax payments...I thought it sounded good. He basically guaranteed me that he would help me resolve it,..Fast forward one year later. They have nOt elimated my tax payments. They contacetd me and told me that I had to default on my payment plan in oder for the *** to stop collecting from me. If they had told me that I would have to do this, I would NOT have moved forward with them I paid them $3,000 ( actually I have a loan for the $3,000 ) I have asked for a redund, and they have told me that there was NO gurantee, and that they would NOT give me a refund Please HELP!Thanks!**** ************Business Response

I wasted $4,500 using this service. They did not reveal that my adjusted payment plan would be discontinued if I did not pay taxes on time for 2023 and therefore I am stuck. They charged me $4,500 which and I borrowed that money from ************* where I still have 10 payments of $182 left to pay,,,,,,,,,,,,for their discontinued service. I signed up for a new service which operates completely differently and their plan will include all years including 2024 and thereafter.........and my. payments with this company will not be discontinued like my Alleviate service was.Business Response

My original complaint about this company is #********. In my original complaint I mentioned that Alleviate said I needed to complete a form indicating that my problem was solved before they could move forward with a resolution, which is a contradiction when it comes to moving forward. So I had to sign it. Now they are saying that their case with me is closed because of that. The case is not closed because they offered no resolution.Business Response

I called this company with the hope they could help me find a resolution to my bill with the **** They start with an investigation to see if they can help you or not and they gave me the go that they could help me. Even told me they see at least a 75-80% reduction in what you owe to the irs. They also told me they dont take cases they cant solve. I paid the over $400 fee , which my credit card declined the first two times. Shouldve known it was a scam then. then later proceeded to have over $5,000 financed through one of their lenders to help me pay them for their services. They worded it as $5,000 is a lot cheaper than the bill I have with the irs. Which was true. I trusted this organization. I shouldve known something was up because they asked me to answer questions a certain way when the lending company called me to make sure my needs were aligning with their policies to lend me the money. I was so desperate for this get out of jail free card, im a new mom and just want a fresh start for my daughter. So they come to tell me that theres nothing they can do to help me with my taxes. Part of the program is they prepare your taxes for you as well and left me with an additional $8,000 owed to the *** on top of a$5,000k + loan to pay Alleviate. Grand total of my irs debt and BS fee of $35,000. And an increase in my payment plan with the irs. They also told me that the *** should drop my debt with them after 10 years because thats the law. I didnt ask for that. I asked for a reduction. Their reviews online look good until you dig deeper and see that im not the only one this has happened to. For a company to say they have some of the best lawyers and **** in their team is a lie. All the documents I signed too are missing and can no longer be found. They are scammers and I need my money back to pay off this stupid $5,000 loan.Business Response

im far from satisfied from the conversation I had with an alleviate employee to settle my case. I own a small business myself and if I cant guarantee satisfaction in my service, I will refund back my customers money. The last thing I would want is for someone to tell potential customers that my company scammed them. You should not have dialogue with statistics, comparisons to a product youre SELLING versus your customers issues. You are clearly only in it to sell something to consumers and take advantage of a glimmer of hope your customers may have. Have some integrity and ***** the loan I have for services that were not met. Like I said on the phone, your services were maybe worth $700. $200 for tax preparation and $500 for your certified letters to the irs. Thats a highball number too beucause i just paid $145 to have my taxes done for 2024.
I will keep calling , messaging, posting about how c*** this company is until you take care of this debt.

Once again , a company claiming they can help youeven tried relating to me with having kids and how hard it can be financially. Claim theres nothing they can do to help me. Go figure.
Im sure this company makes more than enough money to make things right with me. They are just choosing not to and offered me free counseling or a friends and family discount to start the process all over again. YOU AREN'T GETTING ANYMORE OF MY MONEY. Just do what im asking for and youll never hear from me again.

AlleviateTax, we initiated a consult service to remediate between IRS and our Tax owed for 2022. I paid $495.00 dollar to provide initial consult. The next person we got was ********************************** **** from AlleviateTax totally miss-represented the services they can do and provide and got us bind into a loan with ************************* for of $6995. He stated if we sign up AlleviateTax we cab remove up to 80% of those tax liability. Our tax owed with IRS was ****** or so with about $4,000 worth paneities due to under-reporting. What we were not told that *** doesn't allow negotiation on the amount owe only penalties depending on our earnings. Per ****, he said we don't charge people more than you owe. Well it turns out only penalties can be negotiated which is around $4000 but still owe rest and that cannot be negotiated based on our earnings and **** did full interview with us for 45min and knowingly that we don't qualify for IRS forgiveness he went ahead and secured a loan with ************************* Services for $6995. In order for us to complete the consult we suppose to send in the documents to AlleviateTax and we choose not to complete our engagement with them anymore after the consult there were no other services provided. I have been sending them emails and calling them for the 3 weeks they are just passing me around to different people to cancel the loan as we no longer want to use their remediation services after consult and remove the loan. They have been deceiving and avoiding to talk to us. I have copies of all emails sent but replies except to upload the documents which we are no longer want to continue with their services after consult payment of $495. and remove all liability and loan. I have called them again today no response from ****** ***** or ***** to cancel all engagement with them. We have resolved our issues directly with *** due to no forgives due to our affordability. please help resolve this issue as we no longer need them.Initial Complaint

Contacted Alleviate regarding a $20000 estate income tax debt that I was unable to pay. Consulted initially with ******* May to go over Financials. Paid $495 for a tax research fee. Next had a consult with ******* ******, went over same info and told I qualified for help. Paid a $7498 fee for services. BOTH men were informed of an open bankruptcy. Finally spoke with ******* ******* for a final consultation for the program. As soon as we got to the bankruptcy, I was told that they could NOT help me because of it being open. Have since received no answer regarding a refund of any kind. Requesting FULL REFUND because they knew I didn't qualify for the program from the first callBusiness Response

I set up a preliminary consultation via phone call after visiting their site after seeing an ad on Instagram. The representative tried to use psychological manipulation in a attempt to obtain my personal information over the phone including social security numbers and sensitive financial information. He then pressured me to sign a document (while on the phone) giving over partial power of attorney and credit card information, though I told him I was not comfortable doing so until after i reviewed his proposal in writing. Afterward, i received a barrage of calls and texts from the company representatives attempting to convince me to follow through with their requests to complete these forms, In my experience, no business should pressure anyone to sign away sensitive information until a thorough assessment of the proposed offer. These strong arm tactics are unethical at best, and to me seemed suspect, aggressive and completely unprofessional. I was talking with this tax consultant and she showed me how people got their debt reduced down to zero. She was telling me that it would be $400 and I didn**;t have it at the time. I saved it up and contacted her. She gathered my information and she said someone else will call me about this. By the time the second ****** called me back, I was told to give $2400 to pay for their services. She never said that I had to pay more money to use their services. I retained Alleviate Tax to help me with my back tax issues. As I moved further along in the process, I realized due to my income, the solutions would be ones that I could do on my own. Per the contract I signed, to cancel future services, I need only submit my cancellation request in writing, which I did multiple times: Via email on March 10, 2025; March 20, 2025; March 26, 2025; April 3, 2025; and April 11, 2025. Their response is to continue to call me and harass me, asking questions about why I wish to cancel, instead of cancelling my agreement. They are also continuing to attempt to bill me and I have repeatedly asked them in all of my communication to stop billing me and cancel my contract. These people assured me there was no obligation to continue their service, and I have already paid them $4,600 and they are continuing to bill me. I wish for them to stop calling me, cancel my account and stope trying to charge my debit card, and close my case as I've repeatedly asked them to do.Business Response
