    On 10/17, I requested from **** to speak to someone to make sure I was properly set up for future years so I would not owe the **** She said she would need to set up an appointment with a tax preparer. This was a step that had been promised during my initial signing up for the program with **** and should have occurred for 2022, however as we are so late 2022 it should still be completed for 2023. I also left a message on 10/21 to follow up and shared my concerns during later calls with *****. Would note this is ongoing from complaint #********. Would note all other services I have paid for have been fulfilled at this time (there will be additional ones once the *** responds to most recent correspondence, although an expectation has been set from **** *******************) and this remains the final outstanding piece of resolution which was promised as part of this program.

    On 7-2021 I signed a contract with Tax Relief Advocates. In order to settle a tax debt incurred by me and my ex husband of ****** they required upfront $600. I am on a fixed income, but agreed to pay in 3 install payments. I did so. Since this time this company has taken a monthly payment of $225 out of my bank account for services. However, services have not been performed. Twice they required me to sign tax returns they filed on my behalf. This put the process months behind. They have not communicated with me at all about any work being done on my case, or any offer they have come up with the *** to me. Emails to my case manager and phone calls go unanswered. Last email sent was 10-15-22 and has not been answered regarding my displeasure with lack of progress. I am out over $5000 and have not received any resolution of this debt. Again I am on disability and I have a cap on how much I can earn doing Part Time Work. This has been one and a half years now and this has not been in any manner resolved.My ex husband was during our marriage on street drugs and all bills were being paid by myself while on disability including a payment plan I was on with the *** before I knew I was in over my head and called Tax Relief Advocates.

    When I spoke with ********************* , she explained the process and guarantees of I was not completely satisfied with the resolution, I would receive a refund of the $595 dollars I paid . I cannot afford to pay an additional ***** they requested to continue . ***** refuses to call me back or respond to any of my emails requesting said refund . I asked for copies of the supposed signed contract , which again , they refuse to provide me with . I signed nothing , I provided nothing to them with my signature, so they have nothing to provide me with . They are fraudulent and refuse to respond . I need help getting the promised refund back . Would you suggest I file a lawsuit ?? *******************

    I paid ****** tax resolution advacates AKA TRA Person assigned ************************* / Senior Resolution Specialist He specifically stated a price range of $**** to $**** and on our last call quoted as the price range to settle my IRS debt prior to me paying the initial $595. When he came back with resolution the price almost quadrupled on the high end to $28,000 For your situational awareness it was made clear to ************* my financial situation and what I can and cannot afford. ***************** stated one price range prior to me agreeing to go forward and after I paid my 595 which he knows I didn't have because my card declined so he proceeded to break into 2 payments without even getting further authorization to that as well. Once he came back the cost to move forward amount quadrupled almost on the high end from a range quoted of **** to **** to ($28,000). He knew he would not be able to help me for the amount he quoted but he still preceeded to take my $595. I am requesting a full refund due to him not being able to assist me per contract money back guarantee for the price range he stated and he never denied that he didn't state that he just says well we have a resolution and he never reached back out when he claimed that he would contact his boss and see what he can do about the $28,000 this is really causing emotional distress and I need some type of action taken to refund my money as soon as possible due to false advertisement and misleading contracts and agent representation for this company. He was well aware of my financial situation which I discussed with him prior to agreeing to move forward.

    We initiated tax relief with this company for pandemic year 2020, in July 2022.Unfortunately, TRA did not do their homework with the *** and started harassing us for the tax owed of over 85K, far from what the *** notification stated that was owed for 2020 tax year. To this date TRA is constantly harassing us with this *** misinformation and refuses to refund the amount we paid to them for services NOT rendered. No matter the number of notifications we have sent to their egregious errors TRA will not refund us our monies that were fraudulently charged.

    From my understanding the BBB is no longer trying to take advantage of the situation and is doing further research into the issue. The complaint is not being closed at this time.

    My apologies we thought the BBB was there to protect the consumer against malicious companies/firms, not to defer the issue to make money.

    Tax Relief Advocates charged $297.50 on my credit card on 8-31-22 and advised me they could help me negotiate taxes, even though I am in active bankruptcy. I discovered soon after they are unable to help me and on 10-24-22 their representative ************************* confirmed they are unable to negotiate with the *** because of my current bankruptcy payback plan. ***** said he would email a form so that they could refund my money. On 10-25-22 I spoke to receptionist ******** and I asked her for a refund. ******** said she would forward the message. On 10-28-22, I spoke to ************************* and again asked for my refund. Again, ***** said he would email me information for a refund and he would process a refund. To Date, I have not received a refund.

    I was led to believe that the team would research my issue and come back with a potential solution and it was made very clear that IF I didn't want to proceed, I would get a full REFUND.That is the ONLY reason I agreed with the initial service plus their good BBB record.However he replied that I would suddenly need to pay an additional $2,500 in addition to the $595 and this was definitely NOT disclosed ahead of time either.My clear understanding was that we were free to *************** if we didn't like his proposal, which he agreed.Later now, he's asserting that we have no recourse and we have to even pay more money. I definitely feel entirely misled and not talking about a little bit of money either here.... $595

    I was told to pay 600 to take my case. Case #*****. Then told I had to pay another *******. So far I paid $1351.36 and nothing was done. I myself dealt with the *** and *************** the *** counsel. I was misled and TRA did nothing with my case but take my money. I emailed requesting a refund check and no response. Called and told the case manager ******************* is no longer assigned and have to get another case manager to process a refund check. They did all papers electronically that you cant copy them. I sent what I have.

    Contacted TRA for assistance with tax relief, gave the company all my information that they asked for plus $595 to start an investigation and was called that they did an investigation on my personnal tax info vs. doing an investigation on the business tax. TRA said that I would have to pay an addition fee for the business tax investigation. They are a Tax preperation company, how do they not know what they are looking at - Business or Personal. This company is scamming thier customers. I asked so many clarifing questions, this was no miss understanding at all

    I paid *************************** reducing the amount I owe to the **** They gave me a solution that according to them was a savings but when I worked out the math, it was no savings at all. I requested a refund and they told me they would look to see how they could reduce my amount owed. However, I havent heard anything back from them. Ive been emailing the guy who has been reaching out to me and he has not responded. I would like a refund.
