They took her tax refund of 2500+ dollars and I had to pay her back out of my own money thats over $5500 out of my pocket that I havent seen anything from their service plus whatever I get back from taxes they said it was a long process but theres been no communication whatsoever. The last email was in January. They dont even try to mail a letter or anything to get in contact with me. The guy that sold me the service no longer works there ******* ***** it looks like a scam to me is there anyway that I can get a lawyer to resolve the issues they assured me several times they can lower it. Please reference my prior complaint ID#: ********. This has not been resolved. I spoke with TRA on 10/27/2024 with the representative ***** *******. He was concerned about my homelessness, the errors his company made and bringing resolution. I was satisfied with this conversation. He said that I needed a resolution agreement for my mortgage company and someone would contact me shortly on it. However, I was concerned that there was pushing for a good ****** review and BBB review after the call. I didnt not give a good review because I wanted to see if TRA would follow up with ANYTHING that ***** said hed do. Well they have not. Not one single thing. I scheduled a call and spoke with ***** yesterday and he was 90 different from the call in October. He pretended to not recall any of what he said on the prior call with me. He told me that there are no timelines and that they dont know anything of when my case will be resolved. He said that a resolution letter would not come for many months. He told me my taxes were filed yet emailed me a letter saying they were not. I sent them the info to file 9 months ago!!!!! I now cannot get a mortgage because of the lies and the deception of this company. Oh and keep in mind Ive paid over $6K for their services. Im just glad TDA records their phone calls so they can listen back. At this point I am out of time. I would like confirmation that *** has filed my taxes. I want a refund and I will contact the *** myself. This company should be stopped.Business Response

In 2021 I contacted tax relief advocates to consolidate past due taxes because a tax agent did not file correctly for my business. I signed a contract with them stating they would consolidate my past due balance to $2000. I let them work on the case and they also stated they would open a LLC/******* so I can file better in the future. They asked me for three options of business names. I gave them building dreams, construction JKR construction, and **** can do. It seems they ran with **************** and started filing documents with another *** construction company in another city. I reached out to them about nine months into my case and found out they have been sending documents to this **************** and making that company an ******. Which has nothing to do with me, but they never reached out to me to confirm. I was receiving the mail they were sending to the address registered with ****************. As soon as I realized their mistakes after a employee brought it to my attention. They were sending documents to that address. It was too late in 2022 for them to make ******************. So for that year although I was running my own business, I had to file as an individual with no tax credit leaving me with a large bill owing to the ***. They still have not filed my taxes or done anything to consolidate the money. I owe the ***. Today I spoke to a representative and they are still bringing *** construction into my file. Even though I have continuously on recorded lines expressed how they made a major mistake. Im not sure what personal information they sent to that *** construction. This company is supposed to help me consolidate past due taxes and save money. I owe the *** using write offs and whatever professional measures they know. They have yet to do that and are incompetent to continue my case in a sufficient manner as promised in the original agreement. I would like a refund besides the money they used to create the ******************* in 2023. Two year lateBusiness Response

I would like this case to stay open until Tax Relief Advocates and partner companies complete the process of my case.I reject the business response because they didnt address the resolution of misfiling my business corporate or LLC with the incorrect company. When i say incorrect company they wasted over a year of my cases time filing paperwork for another company with the same business name i chose. When there employee contacted me they didnt explain there process correctly. He told me there was a esign for the tax documents, so i signed those. He did not tell me to expect a paper copy in mail also to sign.I also asked him to make sure 2022 tax year was already filed and i have not heard anything about that.I am also head of household. I have them that numerous times they dont have that noted. But somehow they have at the top of there notes I dont want to fill out anymore paperwork. That is not my intention i simply said because theyre making numerous mistakes in the process it causes me to fill out more and more paperwork. I have filled out so much forms and submitted them full 2 years of bank statements, and yet they want me to fill out a expense report. There accountant department is able to see where all my money goes.My desired resolution is to have my past taxes consolidated as they said they could or a full refund.Thank youBusiness Response

My husband went behind my back to this company instead of going to the *** directly. This company and my husband forged documents in my name that I never signed in order to work on our joint filings. When I found out, it was only because certified mail from the *** came to the door, threatening to put a tax lien on my husband. Thats when I found out he was paying this company for a year that did absolutely nothing to resolve the money he owed the *** while our balance kept accruing interest. They fixed a couple tax returns that resulted in no change to the balance we owed. Now I am asking for a refund and they wont give it, even though it states in the contract they will, because they said they asked my husband for some documents for 2023 he never provided. So they are saying that warrants keeping our entire 8000 dollars he paid them that could have gone toward the ****** dollars we owed the ***. I will hire a lawyer and take this to court since all of this was done fraudulently and my signature on all the documents was forged if I do not get my money back.Business Response

Hello *****,
Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concerns. We understand that this situation may have caused frustration, and we want to address it thoroughly. When your spouse, *******, signed up for our services, he made the decision to engage us independently. We worked directly with him, and he provided all necessary documentation, which we relied on in good faith to complete the tax work. As part of our efforts, we successfully reduced your joint tax liability by over $15,000, providing significant savings beyond the fees received.
Weve also spoken directly with *******, and were glad to have reached an agreement on a partial refund of $1,154, as mutually discussed. If you have further questions or need additional clarification, please feel free to reach out to us at ************************* Were here to help ensure everything is fully understood and address any additional concerns.

My husband never had the authority to reach out independently as these are joint filings that require a signature from both parties for the 2848 power of attorney paperwork. All correspondence was sent to him alone, and your company told him to sign for me which by law he cannot.
You did not save us anything. In fact you cost us *******. The same principle on what we owe the *** stated in the contract signed on November 30, 2023 of ******** is what we owe the *** today, plus the interest that has accrued over the last year.
In your contract it states a 80 percent refund if services have not been completed. The services are four parts in the contract and only a and b were done (fraudulently and without my consent) and c and d were not done. Therefore I believe I am entitled to an 80 percent refund of 5440 minus the 595 investigative fee which is more than fair considering my husband paid ******* and all that was ever done was amending three tax returns and filing two pieces of paperwork so that you could amend the tax returns. ******* is a made up number never stated in any contract and no one to date has been able to explain to me why that amount is being offered. Certainly the amount of work done amending three tax returns does not equate to ******* dollars worth of work, the bulk of which you told my husband was supposed to be used to negotiate with the *** and was never done.
I am asking for 5440 dollars be returned to me per the contract that was signed.

You have not provided to me proof that what I paid was the cost of services rendered, you just say it is in your email and Im supposed to accept that. You have only offered me a very small fraction of what I paid you that I do not believe is representative of the amount of work done. Please provide proof of what the 8000 dollars we paid was for and I will consider accepting the offer. But if you cannot provide proof that money was used to pay employees that only amended three tax returns and anything else the funds were used for, then I am still undecided on whether I will accept the offer. You may email me the proof, and only the proof. I do not want you emailing me just to argue your point with no proof, since that does not actually hold any wait and is not fact just because you say so. Proof is tangible evidence the money was used for a certain purpose and not just a scam to extort money from us with the promise it would be used to negotiate with the *** like we were told which was never actually done. Like I said before, 5400 dollars per the contract would be a more acceptable amount per the contract that says we are owed 80 percent of the amount refunded which is no where near the amount your offering to refund us.Initial Complaint

I was told by TRA that they could reduce my debt I owed the *** by 60 percent. I paid them over the course of a year 7500 dollars thinking that was going to the principle of the ****** dollars I owed the *** to settle my debt only to find out today they have not even started negotiating with the *** at all to try to bring down the principle and now the *** is threatening to put a tax lien on us for unpaid charges when I thought a payment resolution had already been worked out. It had not. No work had even been done on my case other than to let me know last November I owed ******. I dont know what the 7500 I paid was even for or the 595 I paid initially for the investigative work which was what exactly? I know I owe ****** dollars. Anyone can look that up on the *** website. I am requesting a full refund for the money I paid since no work has been done on my case to even contact the *** to renegotiate what is owed. I was told by ******** today that in all this time and with all the money I paid over the last year, no one has even reached out to the *** yet to try to renegotiate, they are still in the investigation phase and thought they were doing our 2023 taxes for some reason which its November of 2024. Of course we already filed our taxes. We certainly would not have waited until November for you guys to file them. They would have been late. We never hired you for that. We hired you to negotiate down the debt we have and so far, that has not even been attempted since we hired you a year ago so we are requesting a full refund of all money paid for services rendered immediately so that we can use that money to pay the *** before they put a tax lien on us and destroy our credit.Business Response

Hello ****,
Thank you for reaching out. Generally, we do not issue refunds for services rendered once phase one of the tax investigation has been completed and the findings have been provided to you. This is why it appears our team issued only a partial courtesy refund after you decided not to proceed with phase two of the resolution process.

I signed up with *** for help with negotiating back taxes. Ive paid them over $7k and in return Ive been strung along for well over a year in the same pattern- Im told to provide the same documentation over and over, I provide it, then hear nothing from the revolving case of so-called case advocates for months, then I reach out to attempt to get a status update and am told once again to provide documentation and the cycle repeats. Im a person with a disability and the additional stress caused by this continual cycle is impacting my physical and mental health. I want my money back and Ill deal with the *** myself. Nothing can be worse than dealing with TRA. Its been an absolute nightmare.Business Response
