I have accepted a job with start of 7/22 and started background check on 6/12 submitted GED when they ask for education verification because thats all I had they asked me to fill out a verification form of some kind to verify GED I told them after filing out form and submitting it that I didnt not remember testing site name as I no longer live in the state I took GED and its been 10 year maybe over since I took GED I have told them over and over but yet the *** KEEPS GETTING PUSHED BACK ! first it was supposed to done by 6/27 when I contacted them they told me 48 hours new eta 7/1 that day came and went contacted HireRight again and they said now 7/15 still stuck on 89% I have never had a background check take so long especially for verification of A GED !!! Now my start date might get pushed back and Im not confident they will have it done by 7/15 I just want them to close it out or whatever they have to do so the company can make their decision!!! This is taking so long and causing so much stress because you cant get any real answers or assistance from HireRight chat or phone call they just repeat themselves I hate that I have to resort to submitting a complaint but this is out of hand !!!My background check ID is *************** hopefully submitting this complaint will finally push them to finish this **** checkBusiness Response

I requested an expedited background check twice. Once on June 28th, where I was told I cannot request an expedited check, and another time July 3rd, where I was told it should be complete within 48 hours. My start date is July 15th and I still have been unable to complete this or give notice to my current employer. This starting to threaten my ability to join my new employer on time.I have called HireRight for updates several times, each time saying my background check is 85% complete, but with no updates about what other documentation I can provide to ensure my background check gets completed on time. It has been 85% complete since July 1st, so I have no explanation or communication for why it is still at 85% on July 5th.Business Response

On 6/7/2024 I was offered and accepted a lucrative employment opportunity with a Fortune 500 company with a start date of 7/8/2024. HireRight is the company that Iron Mountain uses for background checks. HireRight does not do their job, they force the applicants to do their own background check. I had to supply countless documents, find old tax returns from 8 years ago to verify employment, and now almost after an entire month my background check is not completed and my start date with my new company has to be pushed back because of this. This is outrageous, and completely unacceptable. HireRights failure to provide a background check in *************************** financially by pushing my start date back. Furthermore, I hold multiple state and national licenses that also require extensive background checks. I will be looking for an attorney at this point. Finish my background report.Business Response

Marijuana/THC was illegally ordered on my pre-employment drug panel despite it being banned by New York State. The results were subsequently reported to my potential employer, despite the testing itself being illegal.Business Response

I submitted information to HireRight to have my pre-employment background check completed. They originally promised a turnaround time of 3-5 business days to complete the background check. After 7 days of not completing the background check, I called customer service for a status update. They promised me an additional 3 days to complete the background check. It is now 10 days since initial submission, and the background check still is not completed.My efforts to contact customer service result in no action by ********************** to resolve the delay.Business Response

They have been doing a background check since June 3rd. They are claiming the court system is down bit when I called the county clerk she has no knowledge. On May 22nd 2024 I applied for a job at hormel Foods and began a simple background report threw a company called hireright. Not only has the process taken over a month, there's not an expected date of when the process will be complete because there getting there information threw a third party. I find this delay to be very unprofessional. It's a hardship on myself and family. I'm in desperate need to start employment and need to make money to survive. In no way shape or form should it take a month or longer to get a simple background report. The excuse given is that mn takes a long time when they request a person's criminal history. Yet every avenue I check, the time duration on a person's criminal history takes 3-5 business days. I would like to report hireright to the BBB, because of the lack of professionalism they take in important matters evolving people's livelihood.Business Response

My contract ended and I am waiting to start a new job at a ********* Services industry. HireRights delayed processing is holding up my start date and I am losing out on needed income. HireRight has not given a straight answer on the status of my background check. If has been 92% processed since receiving my fingerprints on 5/15/2024. They have move out the completion date 3 times. Adding to he almost 400 complaints on BBB about HireRight. Case # HA-******-CW9F6, Background check waiting since June 4 for one county in *** which I haven't lived in over 30 years, all other counties in ** were completed within a couple of days, County says no record of HireRight's request. I resigned my other job and worried my offer will be rescinded. No resolution from support, I have no records. I need this completed ASAP. Furthermore, I got a second Job offer with a different company who also uses HireRight, which is also stuck !! Case#HA-******-CW9F6Business Response
