1 starOne of the reasons I joined was due to the Spinning classes in **************. The instructor is wonderful. However, the gym is in very poor conditions. The spinning room has no working AC. since June. We have old bikes, more than 5 bikes that do not work. Machines that are out of services, last week no Napkins to dry our hands, very unsanitary. And extremely crowded. As per another member, got reimbursed for the two months membership because of the ** issue, I called corporate, and they told me no. Spoke to ******, couldn't help and didn't give solution to this problem. I hope that they are not giving certain people money back and others not.Review fromAli K

1 starI have been dealing with scammers and people who know how to play the system. They play on people's ignorance and trust and scammed me out of cancelling when I legally could by pushing me to a later date to pass the legal cancellation date by telling me to come back stating that the person that can help me is not there. They scammed me out of cancelling and then scammed me out of a year subscription stating I passed the billing date even though I had cancelled prior and I had to go back to tell them that they still haven't processed the cancellation after I was charged and again they tell me they can't do anything for me because I already got charged. They told me I can transfer the subscription to someone else and again I found out it is another lie to play with my time and to waste more days. It ended up that the customer complaint line can only call the scammers to ask them if they followed the contract to tell me that they can not do anything for me. And I end up scammed out of nearly $300 for 2 visits my wife took to the gym. Quite frankly I am surprised this is still happening in ******. There should be laws against illegal business practices. I told the customer support guy who in their right ming pays $300 for two visits to the gym and he could only regurgitate what they make him memorise and that is he can only contact the managers who are the ones who scammed me and kept pushing me to a later date to get what they want and that is me legally unable to get a refund that I legally am entitled to because I was within the correct timeframe but was played. I am ranting and I know I might not get what I am owed but I hope people watch out from the la fitness donmills location because they are scammers. Who knows maybe this has happened in other locations. I hope this reaches out to as much people as possible. I quite frankly won't be recommending LA fitness to anyone after what I have gone through.Review fromJadon L

1 starFor those who like false advertising, harassment from employees, and being scammed out of $20, this is the place! I came in, completed the online form for the three-day free pass, and then sat down to talk about memberships and their costs after going through the gym's tour and sales procedure. After that, I informed them that I had no interest in purchasing a membership, adding to my current two gym memberships, or canceling them. Five employees tried to force me into becoming a member, but I didn't fall for their scam. They then informed me that I would need to purchase a membership in addition to my three-day free pass in order for it to be activated. I decided to just pay $20 to get it over with for a day pass. It is not a 3-day pass; it is a three-day trial. Either way, it's $20 or more out of your pocket. Also, they have a 45-pound plate that looks like it was dipped in acid and thrown up on. I just wanted to come here to work out with two of my friends, but the 5 employees also took up ***** minutes of my time too trying to force me to get their membership. So yeah, a waste of time too.Review fromWuilfido H

1 starAn experience with La fitness in Saugus and ******** W (Manager) occurred on April 29. *** stated to me, promising to me that I have 7 days from the 29th of April to get a full refund. I had my first session with ***** B at saugus location on april 30th @10:03am. After this 30m session i went to *** to inform him I am canceling. I came back to the gym at 1:36pm on April 30th. *** agrees to put in the refund but also said I have one session left and a few days to cancel. I started to feel uncomfortable, he would not submit my refund request.May 6th @1:46 I go to the gym and it is exactly one week from April 29th. I follow up with *** to see how my refund is going. He says everything is good. I took only his Word, when I should have taken his words on paper.*** knows the policy- you have to cancel within 3 days of new memberships to get full refund. Information he forgot to mention when going over the signing documents. He never mentioned anything about 3 days because it was 7* days.I talk to ***, instead of *** mentioning the 3 day refund policy he continues to lead me on by saying he has completed the paperwork and I should get refund within two weeks. I spoke with operation manager ******* S and voiced my concern (last week of May *****) I voice to member services my concern and after my continous calling and a week of "investigating" they respond " we couldnt get a hold of you". The member service agent responded- the number on file was not right- I found this confusing as I called with a follow up a few days later with a different representative and they had no issue reaching out to me via cellphone.ultimately the original agent who Is doing the investigating said" do you have that in writing?" and said "theres nothing we can do", they said I signed the document for 3 days not for 7.I no longer feel welcomed there or comfortable and so i stopped going, and I paid for july even though I never went ******* not recommendReview fromSend t

1 starSpecially the one in **********, **. They have broken Air conditioning. It's like an oven during summer (room temperature is 84+). Management never shares any date for fixing the issue.Review fromKitty L

1 starDue to a health issue, I froze my LA Fitness membership in February. After a second follow-up appointment with my doctor, I decided to cancel my membership in May. I sent an email to SUPPORT@... It was sent back including the cancellation link. I clicked the link, followed procedure, it showed that my membership was closed.(I can provide the screen shot: QR7VQ7R2SYH - **** ***** - (Family Add On)Cancelled)However, I recently discovered that my credit card was charged for two additional months after that. When I called my local branch, they told me that my account was still frozen, not cancelled. I was informed that I now need to visit the branch in person to cancel the membership, and they also told me they have no ability to refund the two extra months of charges.I then called the corporate office twice and was told the same thing their system does not show my account as cancelled. As a customer, when you saw the screen claimed "Cancelled", are you going to follow if the system does or does not send a note to corporate/branch? How do we control it happen?Ive heard from many friends about similar issues with LA Fitness. Its extremely difficult to cancel a membership. When we initially signed up, they charged us for the last month FULL in advance yet they still make cancellation this hard.I havent visited LA Fitness at all during the past 45 months, and my decision to cancel was due to a legitimate health concern. This is my second time using LA Fitness, only because a group of friends encouraged me to join a group. But just like the first time, Im very disappointed for the hassles that cost my time and energy! I'll not let LA Fitness fool me the 3rd time. PERIOD!Review fromNikki N

1 starWas a member here for over 10 years.Back in April, I was contacted by LA Fitness because my credit card on file had to be replaced (had some odd activity on it after my vacation to the *******). When they called and asked me to give a working card number, I considered that I hadn't really been going very often, that I have dual shoulder arthritis (so I can't lift much anymore), and that the sauna was pretty low quality - I asked them to cancel my membership. The member, on the phone, said "Ok" with no further directions, so I assumed my account was cancelled.Months later I find out that they, in fact, did NOT cancel my membership and had been building a balance against my account. They would not waive my balance when I told them about my experience and reasoning. When I asked to speak to someone higher up with the authority to clear my balance, I was told the District Managers would contact me. I asked when I could expect the call and the front desk employee wouldn't even commit to "within the month". Seriously?? I asked if my membership could be frozen while I waited for this guy to call me, I was told "no". I asked for his contact information so that I could clear things up - Only he had the authority to cancel my balance. When I contacted the District Manager, he asked me if I could prove that I asked them to cancel it in April, I said "how would I even do that?", he said he didn't know. I told him "You can see that I stopped coming after 10 years" but he declined to clear my balance. I had to pay for multiple months of membership THAT I DIDN'T USE AND WAS TOLD MY ACCOUNT WAS CANCELED MONTHS EARLIER in order to -actually- cancel my account.Predatory and sleezy way to operate a business. No other subscription or membership operates this way where you continue to build a balance for something you asked to be cancelled, aren't using, and aren't paying for. Completely ridiculous.Review fromMary R

1 starI had enrolled to Trainer Sessions with *****, but ***************** was the one who initiated the membership plus introducing me to ***** for Trainer Sessions. Before signing anything I did mentioned to both of them I didn't want a contract or cancelation fee if it I have to cancel. It was not granted as told there was "no cancelation fee" or "no problem to cancel". In addition to this information I had to cancel in person. But, that didn't help either. ****** was no ******** was told to go to the person I signed up which was ***** ***. But the day I went in Person, ***** was going to help but added to fully cancel i had to " buy-out" to cancel contract. Appalled to the End! Misrepresented, Misinformed & no **************** of Notice callback to neither ******* ****** nor ***** even though I later was told ***** is no longer in ******** facility. So started calling other locations until I did locate *****. I had to dispute charges from my Bank so no recurring charges will be made for Trainer Sessions only! Since I did provided Medical Documents to Medical Freeze the contract for Trainer Sessions, per *****. Until this day no callback nor update. Horrible experience I was not treated with no transparency nor consideration of My situation. Anyone can help please reach out?Review fromAntonio p
