I received a mailer from Credit9 stating that I was pre-qualified for a debt consolidation loan for up to $22,000. I ended up speaking with three different counselors since I had called them once, and they called me twice. Bottom line is I was offered a debt management plan which would entail me paying a monthly payment to a company called Americor, and when there was enough funds in the account, Americor would contact my creditors and attempt to obtain settlements for less than what I owed.My complaint is that I feel this is a classic bait and switch. I feel they target desperate people with lots of debt, and then dangle the possibility of obtaining a consolidation loan, only to rip out the carpet and offer a debt relief plan.I received the same pitch from all three representatives including a soft pull on my credit where they found and read off my debts. Then they collected the rest of my monthly expenses and put me on hold while they allegedly tried to find me a loan.Of course I was not approved and then they tried to sell me their debt relief program.If they were upfront in the mailer and simply offered debt relief services, I would have no complaint.But since it became obvious this was a classic bait and switch to get me into their plan, I feel like their whole intent was to trick me into thinking I would get a loan only to try and place me into their highly lucrative (for them) program. I have read on other forums that they charge a 25 percent fee on the amount of final debt settlement, for each debt.They do offer a "loan" that IF I QUALIFY they would lend me money to speed up the settlement process, which I would then pay back at low interest. This is after 6 months of payments to them.I am very skeptical that I would be granted such a loan.Resolution I would like. ***** me a loan if possible. Stop sending deceptive mailers that imply a loan is possible. Provide statistics of people who actually get loans.Business Response

We regret you feel that the marketing mailer you received was not a legitimate pre-approved offer. It is important to note that the pre-approval in the mailer is only based on limited credit reporting information, which is standard, and any actual approval considers additional qualifying information that is collected from your conversations with the Company representative. The mailer does disclose that All loans are subject to credit review and approval . *********** did consider such information and regrettably you did not qualify. You will be receiving a letter of credit denial specifying the specific reason(s). At a high level a review of your credit profile indicated too many new tradelines opened within the last 12 months and excessive obligations disqualified you for a loan.
After your loan eligibility was reviewed, the Company representative presented you with an opportunity from Credit9s sister ******** Americor. Americor offers an alternative option of a debt settlement program. The Americor debt settlement program does offer an opportunity for a loan review with Credit9 after a six-month period provided the applicant can still meet certain underwriting qualification. Credit9 is able to consider the timely deposit history with Americor in its credit analysis and has different underwriting criteria with someone that has payment experience into that program. That said,we cannot guarantee eligibility for a future loan option until the loan is re-reviewed by Credit9 starting at month six (should you elect to remain in the program).

This company called me earlier this week. I do not know how they got my information. I have never heard of them, nor did I request them to contact me. The first time they mailed me, then they started calling. I explained that I didn't request information and asked them to remove me from their list. I was assured I would be removed. I also blocked the number.The next day, I received another call from this company using a different local number. When I told this person that I'd asked to be removed, they asked to confirm my contact information. They then tried to again talk to me about financial matters. I told her once again I wasn't interested and wanted to be removed. She continued ignoring me, trying to get me to disclose more information, with the insistence that it would "just take a moment." My assumption can only be that this company is trying to use people's personal information for their own gain and they clearly don't want to follow protocols for listening to customers. so basically i copied this from the last persons complaint because my complain is the same... with a few extra really nasty extras. first guy gave me a dissertation on how i am incorrect on him invading my privacy and how i have to extremely nice to him if i want my information removed from their lists. second guy wanted a reservation number" however i have learned from experience this is code for lets verify your information so we can double our efforts. third guy took my credit card number to assure me of positive results, fourth guy took no information & just hung up, as did the fifth. i just saw a charge on my cardBusiness Response

We have conducted a thorough search of our internal records and have found no record of this consumer by the identifiers included in their complaint. (first/last name,address, telephone number, and email address). As a result, we cannot adequately address their concerns. If they have any other information (i.e., telephone records, e-mails, or any other written documentation), and the Credit9 representatives name which contacted them, we will happily conduct further investigation. Additionally, the claims made indicate parts of the complaint were copied from a previous complainants and there are allegations of unauthorized charges. We ask that the complainant provide more specific information regarding this matter or copies of documentation thats supports this claim. Get calls and text messages repeatedly from Credit9 despite speaking to their representatives multiple times requesting to be removed from their call list. Sometimes multiple times per day, and sometimes when I do answer, the line is dead and nobody responds. Calls come from many different phone numbers making it impossible to block.Business Response
