In late 2022, I received mail from a company called Dochelpneeds (now known as Veradocservices) who claimed they were associated with Biden's debt relief program. I called their number to get more information, and spoke to a person named ***** *****. He said after I make three up front payments of $399 each, and so many monthly payments of $39.99 each, my student debt would be forgiven. I naively believed him and signed documentation. Only recently, did I notice my loans were accruing interest, which made me curious where my monthly payments were going. Come to find out, NONE of my payments have been going towards my loans, and furthermore, interest has been added on to the total. Finally, I decided to research more about this company, and discovered they are a complete scam. All they do is put your loans into forbearance, and they keep the following monthly payments for themselves while acting under the facade they are "managing" your account. Loan foregiveness never occurs. That is a lie they sell you on. I contacted them to cancel all services, which they said they would. An important side note: an automatic voice message came up before I talked to someone saying "they record all conversations". I'm certain, if you can obtain the recorded call from 2022 that I had with ***** ***** intially, you can easily make a case against them, although, even now I think a case could easily be made against them. Just from researching other reviews about them online (like on Reddit), you will see they are ******* total, I have lost $2078.73. Please do something if you can.Initial Complaint

I was scammed by the businiess veradoc/docneedshelp on student loan forgiveness. The promised to forgive the interest on my student loans and had me pay three payments of $366, (on 5/31/23,06/30/23, 07/31/23, and another MULTIPLE RECURRING payments of $49.99. (9/15/23, 10/17/23, 11/15/23, 12/15/23, 1/17/24)I've tried calling the customer service number which is *************** and waited on hold multiple times for HOURS. Nobody answers the line ever. I checked my credit karma and NO MONEY that I have sent them has gone to my NELNET student loans. Not one cent. This started LAST YEAR. My money has gone to nothing. They have not held up their end of what was promised. This is a scam company who needs to pay back all the young students trying desperately to pay off their student debt.Initial Complaint

People contacted me 05/01/23 saying they could drop my student loan amount from 35k to 10k as long as I made payments for 10 years, with a payment of ***** per month. They wanted 4 payments of ****** each, making it sound like the payments of ****** would go towards my student loan. My student loan provider contacted me few months later saying I was past due. I said what about the payments of ****** I have been paying and additional ***** the last two months, they said those payments were not going to the loan. After further research and calling that fraud company, I find out they were not connected, but they claimed to have reconsolidate my loans, which they already were. They claimed to have save me all this money, but didn't, the ***** was a service fee they wanted to charge me each month. I made them cancel the ***** reoccurring fee, but they wouldn't credit any of the ****** x 4 or ***** fees I had already made. Total scam!Initial Complaint

I received a letter in the mail about a student loan consolidation and payment reduction program from a company called Dochelpneeds. The letter in the mail (as seen attached) said that they have records of mine indicating that I would be eligible for consolidation with the U.S. ********** of ********** I spoke with people over the phone, through email, and also through text. When I spoke with the employees at Dochelpneeds, I was told that due to my employment being through a nonprofit, I would be eligible to have a large portion of my loans forgiven and significantly reduce my federal loan monthly payment to a little over $100 as long as I maintained a job at a nonprofit or public school. In order for this process to go through, I was told I needed to make 3 payments of $333, which I did. When speaking to a coworker about Dochelpneeds in an attempt to help her get her student loans consolidated as well, she said that after doing a quick ****** search, that this company was a scam and had done similar things that they did to me to other people. I have since had to close my checking account and get a new one, since I do not want them having any access to me or anything I own. I am seeking to be refunded the money that I spent thinking that this was an investment in my future and would help with the process of paying off my student loans.Initial Complaint

This third party dochelpneeds business scammed me, a hard working single mom making ends meet and putting every coin forth in order to make all payments/bills. Starting contact with business June 14, 2023, I have made so far payments amounting to $932. which COULD have been used for my baby, other bills like vehicle insurance, medical necessities, etc. I am very upset to find out today that I was making unecessary payments for a free service. I am disappointed. I am regretful. Most of all, I am afraid for me and my baby. I try my very best and to be robbed of this money is a big deal to me. I reported to my bank and the department of education about this, it is UNACCEPTABLE. Attached is the up to date contract containing everything needed. The names of the agents that conducted this robbery are ********************* and ****************** Thank youInitial Complaint

DocHelpNeeds contacted me via phone and letter in February 2023 stating that they work with the *** to help with student loan repayment. They enrolled me in an income driven repayment plan and have been charging me a service fee each month since. When looking at my account for my previous student loan provider, it does not yet appear that they being truthful with me and have not done what they say theyd do, which is help with student loan refinancing. I paid them an $800 initial down payment and have been charged $50 monthly since. After reading other complaints and reviews, it appears that I was defrauded and gave important information to some apparently non-savory people.Initial Complaint

Doc help needs contacted me around October 2022 regarding student loan forgiveness, as my repayments were set to resume since graduating back in May. This was shortly after I discussed my federal aid consolidation with my financial aid officer through Nelnet. They told me they worked with FSA and required documents like my W2, etc. I set up monthly payments of $40/month beginning of March 2023. I checked my account on Nelnet and noticed payment history didn't show the deduction of $40/month so I investigated further. This is where I began to feel skeptical of this businesses and googled the name, which confirmed my inner fear of thinking this business is a scam. I should've investigated it further before providing my financial information, and I recognize that mistake. There is nowhere on the fafsa or Nelnet website that says anything about these $40 monthly payments.Initial Complaint

I was contacted by mail with a letter that appeared (in formatting and design) to be from my student load financer, ************* about consolidating my student loans. I called the number provided on the letter. I was connected to someone who I was given the impression was from ************* I gave them my personal information (including SSN). At no point was I informed that this individual was actually from "DocHelpNeed". I later saw a total of $1000 deducted from my checking account going to "DocHelpNeed". This business had used the information I provided to them to drain this money from my bank account. I would like no further association with this "business".
