In May 2023, BBB investigated Ragnar Woodworking's business practices. This investigation was prompted by an increase in consumer complaints received by the BBB. Consumers allege the business leaves contractor projects incomplete; delays the completion of projects; and declines to refund when requested by consumers.
  
On May 16, 2023, BBB sent the company a Business Practice Inquiry through e-mail and to request the following information:
-The company’s current refund policy and exceptions;
-How consumers are notified of any completion updates;
 
Additionally, complaints filed with BBB indicate that a business offers work over $500. Please provide a copy of your license with the California Contractors State License Board or proof of exemption. If you already have a license and we couldn’t find it, please provide a copy.

On May 16, 2023, the business responded stating they did do work for consumers but are currently not a business. The business stated they were going to start a different business but have some obstacles preventing them. The business did not provide substantiation to the business practice inquiry.

On May 17, 2023, BBB emailed the business again asking for substantiation of their refund policy, notifications to consumers, and a copy of the California Contractors State License Board or proof of exemption.   

As of May 26, 2023, the business has not responded to BBB's request.

Consumers with outstanding concerns are still encouraged to file a complaint for BBB records, but may also wish to file a complaint with the California State License Board, contact their local Attorney General's Office, and/or get legal advice and/or take legal action
