I engaged Hot Rods and Custom Stuff to perform an engine rebuild on my vehicle on August 6th, 2021. I was given a time estimate of 3 to 5 weeks to complete the job.It has now been 42 weeks. Since then I've received around 12 more estimates of when my repair would be completed. The estimates have been of varying lengths, but each has been missed. During those 9 months I initiated contact to check on the car almost every time. I received 1 or 2 pro-active calls from the shop.When I reached out again on May 18th, 2022 (at 41 weeks), I was told there was another delay. I was not provided with a new estimated completion date, and I was told there was nothing I could do to speed things up. At this point I indicated I would file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau if the job was not completed by May 27, 2022.Since that conversation the pace has picked up noticeably, as has the communication. Nevertheless it is now May 27, 2022 and the job is still not complete. I am therefore filing this official complaint about the wholesale lack of commitment to completing my job by Hot Rods and Custom Stuff.I have indicated that if my auto repair is not completed in another week (by June 3rd, 2022 -- week 43) I will file a complaint with the ***************** of ********** Repair. I fully intend to follow through with this as well if necessary.I am extremely disappointed with Hot Rods and Custom Stuff, and that I had to threaten to file a complaint for my auto repair to finally be taken seriously.
