2 starsUnfortnately, it really is too good to be true. I had Mint for around 3 months to try it out, had excellent service, so renewed for a year contract. About 6 months into my year contract, my phone service would be hit and miss. I use my phone for work, including using the hotspot for internet periodically. I'm not sure if they lost a tower in my area, terminated a contract with a big carrier and lost permission to bounce off their towers, or if a satellite fell out of orbit, but my service is AWFUL. I frequently have an (!) exclamation point instead of service and am constantly having to restart my phone, toggle to airplane mode, turn data on/off, just to try and get service. All unlimited plans slow your data after a certain point, but last time I hit the 36gb (or whatever it was), my data was not slowed, it was cut off. I couldn't so much as load google.com (the blank page, not even a search). I had to BUY MORE DATA for my unlimited plan. Unfortunately, Mint doesn't refund for pre-paid 3, 6, 12 month contracts, so I am up a creek with no paddle and no service. One and a half more months in this contract and then I'm saying goodbye to this terrible relationship. I'm really disappointed, because it was so good at first. :(Mint Mobile

1 starThought I'd found the perfect phone service! Website said our location was good for the service, $15/month/phone = $90.00 for 3 months service for 2 phones! Awesome!Except that the service was very spotty, no service for 50% of the time. Ok, we can do that until we get to ** for the winter where the service is EVEN BETTER!Renewed the service for only $82.97. Awesome $7.03 discount!Except that it was only 1 phone at $25.00/month plus a tax that I didn't even see when I signed up.Now I have spotty service and my 2nd (wife's) phone has no service.UGHH! ************************* I'm so disappointed.Mint Mobile

1 starMint mobile is a complete scam. DO NOT switch to this company. Have not been able to use my phone at my house since retrieving my phone. When I signed up. You get to check to see what kind of service you would get based off of your home address. Showed that I would get 4 bars. Well when I got the service no one could figure out why my phone had either no bars or one bar. I also could not use my vmail and still cannot use it. I get a error message and they told me that it is because of the tower and I will be credited for all the days I am not able to use my phone. Well paid for unlimited sim which was for 90 days. My issue is I don't get any service and I cant access my voicemail. I started calling from day one of setting my phone service up and let them know about my issues. They then told me there was a tower outage in the area and it would be back up in 24 to 48 hours. I was not allowed to be given a refund even when I asked. I was told that I would be given credit for all the days I dont get service and I have to wait for the tower to be fixed. I called the next 48 hours and I was told an entirely different story. I was told I would be switched to a different tower and my phone would work fine within 24 hours including my voicemail which they reset and deleted all of the messages that I have not been able to retrieve since starting the service. This plethora of excuses has turned into 3 weeks of not being able to use a phone service that I paid for 90 days in advance. I did everything they asked me to do. The last representative I spoke to explained that she understood my point and that she was in agreement that I deserved a refund and she would send it to who it needed to go to but of course it was not her power to honor a refund. This company is so unprofessional they sent me a text that said Upon further review, we find that we are unable to process a refund since the services are outside of the return policy. Therefore, your request has been denied.Mint Mobile

1 starThe worst. Service doesn't work half the time in the middle of a populous city- as in absolutely no network connection. Several times I was given a "sure fix" so that it doesn't happen again and it always did. I paid for the year up front and tried to cancel less than 2 months in, and even though "it's not a contract" they won't refund any money. Go to ****** ** instead.Review fromMichael B

1 starAbsolutely Do Not pay ahead for ************* What they do not tell you is if you cancel your service when you pay ahead, you get NO refund! Let me state that again if you cancel your service ahead of the prepaid time period, you get absolutely NO REFUND! I received free service via my internet service provider which gave me access to ******* (good) network, not subpar access Mint purchases. So, I ported my numbers (mine and my spouses) to the new carrier thinking as with most reputable service providers I would be refunded my unused portion of service. I completed an online form to get a refund and when I called to check after a month of hearing nothing, they told me I would not get a refund. This seems illegal to me that they keep funds for unused services provided but I am checking with an attorney on that who says there is a potential class action lawsuit investigation concerning this issue. Just wanted to warn all unsuspecting buyers who think you might get a better deal to pay in advance Do Not Do It!Mint Mobile

1 starIf you port your number elsewhere, with the intent of keeping Mint service as a secondary line, they do not allow you to do this. And they will not issue you a refund. As an engineer, I can guarantee this is a policy from the C suite in order to maximize revenue; there is no technical reason that they could not continue your prepaid service with a new number.Mint Mobile

Hello,Thank you so much for your feedback on this. Currently, the only way to do this is to purchase a new SIM and activate a new number, then port your number out to a different carrier.Thank you.Mint MobileReview fromSheri-Lyn S.

1 starI bought 1 yr service for both myself and my mother Sept 12. She died in October 15. I called to cancel her service and either get a prorated refund or have her 334 remaining days added to my account. I was told NO.We did not have a contract, I simply prepaid them! They said it was not policy. What???Ridiculous Not a company I would ever deal with again You shouldnt either!!Mint Mobile

1 starI was lied to. For 4 months. I bought the year long program for 200 dollars, unlocked my phone and recieved a sim card so i could start using their service. From the first time i put the sim card in i was unable to call or text, i spent week after week teying to fix what the company told me to do, to no avail. Within this tine the 7 day get your money back time period elapsed. I did not seek to get a refund because i was assured by thech support that my phone would work. 4 months in, finally one tech "discovered" that my phone model did not work woth their network, which is ridiculous because when i inputed my phone model onto their site, it said it was supported. So now i have not had a phone for 4 months. I have been lied to the entire time, and i have lost bussiness as a result. I asked a supervisor to try and get a refund and they assured me they would sort it out. I called today 10/26 and was told i couldnt have a refund because of their 7 day policy. This company outright lies to its customers then witholds funds dor services not rendered. I even have proof that i was nkt able to call or text for months, and they still wouldnt help me. Do not go to this company, they will not help you, will waste your time and money.Mint Mobile

1 starWe had a three month contract with Mint Mobile. Everything went pretty great the first time around. We renewed and about 10 days after we renewed, all of our data, texting, pretty much everything, except for calling was not working. We called them to let them know the problem. We went through about a week of troubleshooting, and nothing was working. my husband uses his phone for work and was getting in trouble because his phone wasnt working. He uses his phone for his job all day long. (Maps and payments) When we asked for a refund for the next two months, they told us it was outside of their return policy, and that the only thing they could do is troubleshoot. They literally went through all of their troubleshooting, and it still didnt change anything. THEY REFUSED TO GIVE US THE REFUND EVEN THOUGH THEY COULDNT FIX THE PROBLEM.Mint Mobile
