On April 16 2025, my mother went to Nekter Juice Bar (********************************************) to purchase a juice. The total was $17.28. She paid via Apple Pay. Without her knowledge or permission, the employee turned the tip screen toward themselves and entered a tip of $1111.77 a tip rate of over 6400%.My mother did not realize what had happened until she reviewed her bank statement later that day. The receipt had been placed in the bag without explanation, so she had no way of knowing what she had been charged at the time of purchase. We immediately filed a dispute with our bank (*****), and visited the store to ask for an explanation. The employee was dismissive and claimed they had no records, and told us the matter would be escalated to the manager and then to corporate. We never received any follow-up. Not a single phone call or email.Even worse, ***** initially credited back the $1111.77, but just recently re-applied the charge, leaving us to deal with this again with no help from Nekter. This was not a mistake. This was theft. The employee entered an outrageous tip without the customers consent. The company has done nothing to make it right. We have been more than patient, waiting over 3 months for a response or solution. It is unacceptable that no one from corporate has taken ownership of this, especially for such a large and clearly fraudulent charge.Resolution Sought:A full and immediate refund of the $1111.77 A written apology from Nekter Juice Bar corporate Confirmation that the employee responsible has been disciplined or terminated Assurance that this store and all Nekter locations will implement policies to prevent staff from entering tip amounts without customer consent This outrageous charge has caused significant stress and anxiety to my family, especially to my mother, who has felt overwhelmed and violated by this unauthorized action. The lack of response for over three months only added to the emotional burden.

On Fathers Day, Nektar Juice bar sent out an email notification as well as Instagram and ******** posts stating that fathers would receive Buy One, Get One Smoothie Bowls for that day only. My husband and I went into the local location to get the Buy One, Get One and were told by stores employees that there was no way to give that offer. They had not received anything from corporate and there was nothing in the app to obtain that deal. I reached out to corporate multiple times and heard nothing in return. Beware of false business advertising practices!

I purchased a gift card from Nekter in May of 2024. In the year since, I have never been able to successfully use the gift card. Every time I try to purchase on the app with the gift card, it fails to process the order and requires me to pay in store. In the store, they inform me that the "gift card system is down" and that I must pay with a credit card. Across multiple stores in multiple states in the last year, I have not been able to redeem a single dollar of my gift card value. I have reached out to customer service three times and created tickets surrounding my issue. To date (months later) no one has reached out to me to resolve the issue. I am worried that this practice of withholding gift card funds is fraudulent and I strongly urge anyone reading this to take your business elsewhere. DO NOT buy a gift card from Nekter, as you will likely lose the money without consequence.

My complaint is almost identical to the 4/26/25 complaint opened by someone else. The company made a poor decision to change from a successful, 'no problems' mobile app to an inferior one. IN doing so, except for my credit card, my saved GIFT cards were NOT transferred to the new app. Nekter has many promos for people to buy e-gift cards thru their app which auto-load to their account. There is NO WAY anyone is going to know these e-gift card numbers, and I can guarantee you - no one thought to write down these numbers prior to the switching to a new app. I still have their email on the new app announcement, and no where is it stated that existing gift cards loaded on your account will NOT be **************** the other complainant stated, this is basically the company stealing your money. I do not remember if I had any e-gift cards loaded, but I definitely had a $100 physical gift card and a bonus $20 physical gift card loaded. I do not remember the balance on the $100 gift card.If I do not get restitution thru the BBB, I will be contacting the ** attorney general. They have done this to all their customers. In my mind, this is a class action lawsuit waiting to happen.

The company has an app in which I have loaded gift cards totaling over $500, but when I go to redeem they will not work and I have to have the individual store try to resolve. They have now updated their app and cleared out my account, essentially stealing my funds, while conveniently keeping my credit card information in tack to purchase. They also deleted all my rewards points which totaled over 1200. The store is no longer willing to help and direct me to their corporate, but they are not responding.

On April 28th 2024 I went to Nkter juice bar located in *********** in **************** ********** to get a smoothie. I purchased a smoothie and consumed most of it. I had noticed that there was a weird texture in the smoothie but continued drinking it anyway. I noticed something wasn't coming up the straw so I opened my smoothie to inspect. I then saw that there was a huge chunk of plastic in my smoothie that had been grinded up into my smoothie. I attempted to throw up most of my smoothie in fear of internal damage from the plastic. I contacted the store the next day to tell the manager about the occurrence. I had a general manager reach out to me the next day. She told me that this happens "more often" than I would think. I am concerned for the safety of the community with the attitude the manager had at exposing a customer to a potentially life threatening substance in my food. She told me that the plastic came from the dragon fruit that is packaged in plastic and it some times gets added to smoothies with the plastic attached. I am attempting to *** for damages because I did get sick after consuming this. I am in fear for the community and potential harm that can be done to others from this store.

I have had multiple bad orders at Nekter. Some customer serice said they would replace but never did. Nekter even blamed me for feeling sick after they gave me the wrong drink. And when I asked to have my free promotional drink returned to me because the store was closed and not answering their phone, I did not receive a reply

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

the order instead of defaulting to "No Tip" and then allowing their customer to add a tip if they so choose? This was an order for pickup. So, I'm doing the work of going to get the smoothie from them. All they have to do is make it and hand it to me. Aren't these the basics of what you have to do to be in business? 2. What does Nekter think the tip, that they have defaulted to, for? They obviously think that the customer should pay a tip because that's the default they've designed in the app so what is it that Nekter has determined the customer is tipping for? Is it for their employee to make the order? Is it for their employee to hand it to me when I go pick it up? Aren't these the things that the employee is being paid their wages to do? It seems unfair to automatically ADD a tip and make the customer REMOVE it instead of giving the customer the option of adding a tip if they want. I imagine customers have unknowingly paid tips based on how the app is designed.

      Hi *****,

We really appreciate your concerns, although please know tipping is completely optional! We are working with the team to get this updated, which should reflect on the app as soon as possible.

Again, we appreciate your feedback and hope we can see you again soon!

      Best,

      Nekter Juice Bar Team

On March 24th 2023 I purchased and aa bowl ($12.79) around ********* wasnt what I remembered it tasting like. The aa was extremely watered down and had no taste to it, and my bowl wasnt filled to the top. Barely any fruit and the fruit was cut very thin. I felt like I was getting left overs from another bowl I was so excited to get an aa bowl from here because it used to be good & packed with flavor. But, this time it was a miss for me at the location in ********, **.
