9/15/24 I was trying to get my free annual credit report and I received a massage from Experian stating:A condition exists that prevents Experian from being able to accept your request at this time. A massive data breach just exposed 2.9 billion private records including social security numbers. Sign up for ******* obtain your Experian annual credit report, please mail your request to the address below using the Annuel Credit Report Request form. I tried going online again and after Experian received my personnel information to log in; Experian tried to get me to sign up for a $29.99 monthly credit score membership. What is going on here? Experian has no customer ********************** at all. It's impossible to get through to talk to a live person. The automated service constantly hangs up on you and tells you to call back later. For a company that is based on keeping a persons information safe they do not act like they care about their customers at all. My account was hacked and my phone number and email was changed. I can't log into my account. I have 2 step identification so all the info goes to the hacker when I try and get into my account. I can't get through to a live person to rectify the situation. I do have an account with ********************** that someone hacked and has access to. This is why Im complaining about this company. They are supposed to protect the consumers but make it extremely difficult to rectify issues. I cant access my account because someone else has control over it. They changed the email and telephone number on the account so 2 factor identification is impossible.

This is the issue!!! You can't get a live person on the telephone!!!! I was just told to send a bunch of information to Experian to get my account closed. Why is it so easy for a person to get into my account and change all my info, but it is nearly impossible for me to get someone to help me reverse it or just close my account. Your customer ********************** is awful. Your automated messaging system is horrific. You just end up having the call being ended saying that it can't help you right now. For a company that provides a service to help with identity theft it is way too easy for theives to get into it and steal someone's account. You make it way too difficult for your customers to get help.

I was offered a Free credit report online from Experian, but it wasn't free, I found out later they charged me for a membership that I DID NOT want, they stole my daughter's grocery money right off my account, and I WANT IT BACK, however, I CANNOT get a human being in the phone. I have gone through ************************ and also called their numbers that they have on file on their website including their "so called" corporate number. I have recently changed my moving address and my information. I cannot log into my experian account to update this information. The phone number they provide, you cannot speak to an agent. Every time I change my password, I STILL cannot log in to my account. No matter how many times I have reset the password. There is no one to talk to and discuss about this. This is an agency that is supposed to protect your identity and they have no option to contact anyone to talk to on a personal level to help you with any issues with their website or services they may have. This is questionable and untrustworthy. I cannot update my new address, phone number or anything else if I cant recieve further assistance by talking to a person to help me gain access to my account since resetting the password does not work. I would like to ask some questions on how I can keep my credit and my personal information protected. If they cant require a phone number to speak to someone directly, then they cant be trusted and are engaging in fraudulent activites. I think I have made myself clear on my explaination duing the complaint. Experian has no contact numbers to talk to someone one on one in regards to any issues or questions in regard to their service, or any problems you may have with their website. I am unable to log in after numerous times of trying to reset my password. All they offer is an automated recorded voice that sends over a reset link. When it doesnt work, you cant talk to someone to help you any further. That is why I have requested the company to contact me to help me gain access to my account so I can update it. This is an agency that deals with peoples identities and personal information and if they cant give out a number for people to talk to someone directly, it comes off as shady.Business Response

I will say this AGAIN...I dont care what your records say....I was NOT able to log in successfully. I dont know where you got that from. I had to keep getting repeated emails to change my password and it STILL would not let me log in. I have explained the problem, and you have no contact through the telephone to fix this matter and you are still incompetent and gutless not to provde a person for me to contact or have someone call me to rectify this issue. Instead you responded in the copout and cowardly way by not putting any accountabilty and blame on yourself. I went in and tried to log in after you wrote me this cop out response and i STILL could not get in to my account. Try again...you are failing and shouldnt be handling peoples personal information. The membership was not cancelled; consequently, in accordance with the published terms of our offer, the credit card provided was charged our monthly membership fee on August 3, 2023. Per your request, your paid benefits ceased, effective October 27,2023. You continue to have access to your Experian(R) credit report and FICO(R) Score once every 30 days, at no charge to you.

I went on experience to see my free credit report and unknowingly.Sign up for their one month subscription.I try canceling it when I realized it was gonna charge my card.And there's nowhere online that you can cancel ***** says you have to speak with the ***************** speak with the representative and it tells me that they cannot transfer me to a representative for 3 months in a ******* it keeps charging my card and I want my money back. Experian has my social security number and my whole identity. They will not allow me to access my account which I have made already, because of an error that they made. They have ignored me and made it impossible to reach them. I made an account with them online. Due to their error on their site I am unable to log in because they made an error processing my registration. The account exists and they have my entire identity and my social security number and they are not allowing me to check on what they are doing with my identity. They have ignored the BBB and myself so I am making the same complaint again and I will keep doing it until I can ensure the safety of my identity. Our office recently received your correspondence ofregarding the above-mentioned consumers personal credit report.
In order to reinvestigate the consumers complaint, please forward the consumers specific disputes along with the consumers complete identification information (Social Security number, full name, current address, previous addresses in the last two years and date of birth).
Please include one copy of a government issued identification card, such as a driver's license or state ID card, etc.,and one copy of a utility bill, bank or insurance statement, etc.
Additionally, if there is information appearing on a credit report that is believed to be inaccurate or incomplete,we must have a specific dispute. Examples of specific disputes are as follows: not mine, paid in full,never delinquent or included in bankruptcy or for public record disputes: not mine, paid/satisfied, vacated or filed in error. If the status dates, amounts, balances or other specific data is incorrect, the consumer should also indicate what the correct information should be. Please specify the item or account name and number.

I DO have an active account. I got a letter from Experian in the mail confirming that my credit has been frozen. I want my credit to remain frozen but I want to be able to login to my account and check my account. Every time I try, the site says that my account has been made but there is an error with the registration and that I must call Experian to fix this.
Experian has all of my personal information and identity. I want their error to be fixed so I can log into my account which HAS been created and contains my personal information.

In the process of establishing an Experian account, an error message appeared inviting me to call a customer ********************** phone number to complete my request.I called that number and an automated attendant kept sending me to the *** where I had entered my request, same error message would appear, inviting me to call customer ********************** - membership ************ and request to speak with a "specialist"I would proceed accordingly and again the automated attendant would tell me "can not connect you to a specialist" and send me back to the same ***, thus looping the *********** it is my right to open an Experian account and ********************** can not on one side display error messages (stating "something wrong on our side") and oblige the customer to iterate the process via an automated attendant. it becomes an infinite loop. Don't even credit reports have the obligation to be consistent? Don't they have a license? I am a cardiovascular surgeon, I do have a few licenses and if I were to treat like that patients I would be called upon by the Board of Medicine and by the DA's office. Is Experian any different in terms of obligations with respect to its customers?Business Response

while the contingent aspect of the complaint was (painfully and slowly) finally resolved, the essence of the complaint remains standing and side form assertions to the contrary by Experian, has not been touched in the least. Only lip service.
Meaning they respond saying sorry for your experience, we strive for excellence, contact us should there be any need. Point is that the complaint delt precisely with the inability to contact them. In order to have them respond to an error message, in which they were acknowledging a problem on their side, I had to file a complaint with BBB. They fail to mention how to contact them. Cant be through their customer ********************** number, an automated attendant that failing the customer to choose one of the given options will tell you "cant connect you to any **** and hung up
It seems the standard reply BBB gave, a universal reply that applies to any complaint, fails to furnish a phone number to call with a live attendant if the choices given by the automated one don't correspond to the reason of the call. In other terms I could not call their customer ********************** and respond to the automated attendant "I still have problems with my account access, you responded to my BBB complaint saying to call you". Their automated system would just interrupt the communication.

Experian will not stop charging me for this service. I've tried a multitude of times to cancel it. They hide the process to cancel the service. A service I'm sure was a free service that somehow turned to a paid subscription. I don't want this. I haven't wanted it. Experian is making it extremely difficult to cancel this. They have no way on the website to cancel. They force you to call or write an email. But I had to use ****** to figure that out. Experian designed it this way. Better Business Bureau:Regardless of the fact that there is a way to cancel, it shouldn't be this hard. This is illegal and the practice needs fixed.

Thank you for writing and expressing your concern regarding your membership with Experian CreditWorksSM.
Our records indicate that you ordered a credit report and a trial membership on July 8, 2024. The membership was not canceled;consequently, per the published terms of our offer, the credit card provided was charged our monthly membership fee on July 16, 2024. As you requested, your paid benefits will cease, effective September 27, 2024. You will continue to have access to your Experian(R) credit report and FICO(R) Score once every 30 days at no charge to you.
Our website describes the offer, and the order form details its terms and conditions, including billing at the end of the trial and monthly after that unless and until the customer notifies us of their wish to discontinue. The consumer agrees to these terms when submitting their order.
As a courtesy, we issued a refund totaling $49.98 on September 27, 2024. Please allow 3 - 5 business days for the funds to be processed to the credit card account.
