      Hello ***** ********,

Thank you for your review. We understand your money is very important. However, the payment was processed through ****, not AutoCheck, so any dispute would need to be directed to ****. Please also note that the difference between $17.99 and $11.99 may be related to applicable taxes.

Autocheck has listed in Vehicle History at a Glance section that my vehicle had "Severe" structural damage. The source was an auto auction claim. When looking at the details on the date listed for the "Severe" structural damage the auto auction line, the details stated: Auction Announced as Structural Damage. There was no information in the details regarding the level of damage. Autocheck listed (the probable cause) an accident prior to the auction report damage as "Unknown"Thanks to CarFax I was able to obtain a report from the collision center that had repaired the car for the previous owner. The structural damage was a radiator support. When I asked Autocheck to change the status of the auction report to "Unknown" reflecting the fact that the auction center only listed a detail that the vehicle had structural damage without mentioning severity I was told I needed to look at the AutoCheck Terms and Conditions, and that I needed to subpoena their legal department if I wanted them to change the report. If you look at their AutoCheck Terms and Conditions you will find out in Section 8 that they state: NEITHER EXPERIAN NOR ITS DATA SOURCES ASSUME ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY ERRORS, INACCURACIES OR OMISSIONS IN ANY INFORMATION OR DATA SET FORTH IN OR/ OMITTED FROM ANY REPORT. EXPERIAN PROVIDES THE REPORTS TO YOU "AS IS",

      Hello Dennis

Thank you for your review. We are committed to assist you with your issue.

The record is reported in this way  due to system internal rules and since the record was verified and confirmed, the severity must remain as it is.

If you purchased the vehicle from someone other than an auction, please consider that AutoCheck shows the vehicle history and the auction announcement has been verified. You will need to work with whom you got the vehicle to try and get the auction name, as they are the only ones able to make changes to the record.

Please contact us back if you may need assistance with anything else.

Steer clear of this company. I was paying for their services for over 15 years and they doubled there fees. It was so difficult getting any type of customer service . E mails no direct contact the absolute worst you can imagine. Now I want to cancel and it is a nightmare. Their competition is much better. I am still wanting to cancel and it has not happened. Do not do business with a company with this poor rating of *****************

I recently purchased a report on a vehicle I am considering buying that was in an accident. I should have read reviews before purchasing as I am not happy with the report. It has very little information. It also has WRONG information that states the damage to the vehicle was on the right side when, in fact, it is on the LEFT. I contacted them about refunding my money d/t their error and they said I need to contact my credit card company for a refund. They also said I had to send a police report in order to have the information corrected. This is not my responsibility. I am not happy with this company and will never again do business with them.

I purchased my vehicle based on an AutoCheck report that clearly showed no prior accidents and stated the vehicle was eligible for Buyback Protection. I later discovered the vehicle had in fact been in an accident prior to my purchase a fact that would have impacted my buying decision had it been accurately disclosed.Despite AutoCheck promoting their Buyback Protection as a safeguard for consumers in situations like mine, I was informed my case is ineligible simply because the accident did not result in a state-issued branded title. This is incredibly misleading. Accidents are one of the most critical pieces of information buyers look for in a vehicle history report. The notion that this isnt covered under their protection renders the term nearly meaningless for real-world consumers.I submitted all requested documentation and received multiple vague or contradictory responses. There was no transparency about who reported the accident or when the record was added, and no meaningful accountability.Ive since filed a complaint with the state Attorney General and have contacted consumer protection groups. I am publicly sharing my experience to warn others: Buyback Protection from AutoCheck is not what it appears to be.If youre relying on AutoCheck to make an informed vehicle purchase, please reconsider or at least read every line of fine print. This was a costly and frustrating experience that should not happen to other consumers.

      Hello ********,

We are sorry about the inconvenience you have presented with the AutoCheck report.

Please be advised the record in question could refer to vehicle damage reported and not necessarily a collision with another car. Many times, vehicles are taken to repair centers without the involvement of the police. Therefore, accidents could go unreported and then be taken for cosmetic repairs. Further details beyond what is available on AutoCheck are not available.

We understand how the event may impact the value of the car negatively but, as a repository for a data company, we announce the records which are available to a specific VIN to protect the security and safety of those who are interested in buying the vehicle.

If the date of the event listed on our report is prior you purchasing the vehicle, we suggest you contact the previous owner or the company you purchased the vehicle from for further assistance.

With regards to your inquiry, AutoCheck Buyback Protection is a policy that will compensate you by buying back your vehicle under certain circumstances; we invite you to read the terms and conditions on our website at the following link.

      ********************************************************************************

Here you will be able to find detailed information about this service that will help you to answer your questions.

Please be advised to be eligible for BuyBack Protection, the AutoCheck vehicle history report must be registered within 90 days of purchasing the vehicle, and the Branded Title must have been issued at least 60 days prior to the date the AutoCheck vehicle history report (VHR) was run.

Buyback protection only applies to state-reported title brands. It doesnt apply to accidents or other negative records reported by commercial data sources.

An AutoCheck Vehicle History Report allows you to quickly and easily check the history of used vehicles so you can learn about any potential problems before you make a vehicle purchase decision. However, AutoCheck incorporates data from many individual data sources; as a repository of the data, the information becomes available as it is reported to us. Therefore, we cannot guarantee the availability of every event in which the vehicle was involved.

Please let us know if there is something else we can help you with.

      Thank you,

Your response inaccurately characterizes the issue at hand. The accident reported on 5/31/2019 is listed as a moderate collision, not simply cosmetic repairs, and was not disclosed on the original AutoCheck report provided to me when I purchased the vehicle in 2021. At the time of purchase, the report clearly showed no accidents and stated the vehicle was eligible for Buyback Protection, which significantly influenced my decision. This discrepancy has caused me financial harm, as I would not have purchased the vehicle had I known about the accident. I have also had to replace body panels on the vehicle twice and there is visible rusting that suggests prior repair work. To date, I have driven the vehicle less than ****** miles, so these issues are not due to my ownership. The response from AutoCheck sidesteps the fact that the error lies in their report at the time of sale, not in the severity or classification of the damage itself.I have already submitted a written appeal directly to AutoCheck/Experian and received no resolution. This case has also been escalated to the Massachusetts Attorney General.Additionally, I plan to share my experience directly with CarMax, **** ****** *********, and other dealerships so they are fully aware of the risks in relying on AutoChecks reporting system. Dealers and consumers alike deserve accurate and consistent information when making major financial decisions

They are using police speculation in the vehicle damage report, not true damage reported by the auto repair shop. A police officer with no experience, knowledge, or licensing should not be allowed to determine the level of damage after an accident, yet Autocheck swears that information to be true. Only trust Carfax as they use the actual repair shop report to determine the correct damage to report.

      Hello Sydney,

      Hope you are doing well,

We are really sorry that the information was not reported correctly on your vehicle history report, in fact, the information was reported directly by the ************************** and not the body shop that repaired the vehicle after the incident, this is why a repair order cannot be used for correction processing in this particular case.

We apologize for the inconvenience however, as a data repository we must adhere to correction policies and request supporting documentation from the source that reported the record. The police report you provided does show damage severity # 3 which stands for severe, please contact the ************************** to further dispute the record and request an amended report showing the corrected information, and please respond to the last email that was sent on case # 28354656.

      Sincerely

      Autocheck Customer Support

Terrible website that tries to steer users towards a paid membership account.I did not sign up for a paid membership. However I noticed that i incurred a charge from experian which alerted me to experian's deceptive login process attempting to steer users towards a membership fee account. Their website's fails accessibility requirements by creating text sizes in too small of a font among other factors. This entity should be penalized and forced to comply with accessiblity requirements in addition to punitive action for their past deceptive practices.
