    I paid $500 to have my vehicle shipped from ***** to ********. The company was quite responsive until I paid. Upon doing so I got nothing but the run around about dispatchers and drivers not being available. I have screenshots of the entire conversation and will contest every charge. I am active duty military, just returned from a deployment and now in school to perform surgery on vets and citizens of every nation, you should be ashamed! Ashamed of stealing from people. This is disgusting.

    I contracted with Sonic auto transport to move a vehicle.I was quoted a cost of $200 because the trip was only 115 miles. After driving the 115 miles to meet the transport driver they never showed.I called So nice and was told the driver cancelled the pickup, but they had another driver that would charge $460 dollars or they could just keep my deposit and I could find another service. I found myself stuck. I could loose my deposit and find a hotel and another transport company or just pay this exorbitant amount which I felt was my only opinion. Looking at the reviews I see this seems to be a common practice with Sonic.I also found they pay the subcontractors less than half the fare and keep the rest.

As per our records, the original driver that was assigned to your order has cancelled your load last minute, so your shipping agent were forced to look for a subsitution. Unfortunately, we are only the middleman between you and the driver and have no power to determine the final cost, only to make an impact on the driver in order to make the price as reasonable as possible. We want to assure you that we did our best to negotiate the price and talk the driver down so he could make a discount for us. Unfortunately, the price offered was the final one. We have to admit it is quite higher than the rate quoted, but since it was a last-minute booking some drivers request upper payment. We do not reject our responsibility and hope for your understanding.

    Sonic quoted a shipping cost of $200.00 dollars to gain my business bottom line.Then the company Sonic contracted with cancelled my order two hours after the pickup window of time. I drove across the state to meet a driver that never showed up. I had to contact Sonic and was told yes the driver cancelled ********* that point I was told by Sonic I had two options. One option is to find someone else or option Two I could pay $500.00 dollars and have my vehicle picked up the next day. My complaint is not with the replacement ********* complaint is with Sonic collecting the commission on the exorbitant  amount I was overcharged. I am only asking to be honest and refund the difference .

    On Wednesday *** 1st i booked with sonic auto to transport a vehicle from northern ******** to southern **********. They quoted me 450. The vehicle was for an event, i just told them it had to be there on friday *** 10th but they could pick it up whenever. The agent(******) said they would arrange for it to be picked up on *** 8th and it would be there friday *** 10th. On *** 7th i called to ask what time they would be getting the vehicle the next day, they ended up saying we dont have a carrier arranged but will update. Got to the next morning and there was no update so i called and they basically said oh we dont know if we will be able to find someone today but will try to find someone soon. I said nope we agreed to getting this car there on friday *** 10th. ended finding an aletrnative provider for double+ the cost because it was such late notice. I told them to cancel it as they hadd nto lived up to their service promise. ****** thee agent said we can do that but it will be $200 cancellation fee and i told himnope i will not being paying that as it was sonic who failed. Kept on bothering me to pay it and used tactics like reply 1 to agree to $200 cancellation fee. Few hours after i told him verbally a through messages to cancel it, he came back with oh we found a carrier that *** be able to do it. I said nope cars gone, youve been told its canceled. He then threatened me with a 700 dry run fee. This company is classic bait and switch, they are low balling stuff to get people in contracts then failing to be able to find carriers at their low rates, then trying to up charge people for more expensive carriers or make late fees or dry run fees when people get fed up up with them. Total fraud of a company, *** who ended up doing it said sonic is famous for their bait and switch tactics and inability to live up to services agreed upon.

As per our records we have never guaranteed you a final price, and our shipping agent made it clear to explain how transport business works. You've also mentioned that you've found another company that agreed to do it for double the price, however we were trying to honor the price that you was quoted with. As per the contract - your shipping agent has 5 business days to find a carrier company to transport your vehicle from first available pick up date (which was 8th of May).     I reached out to them about transporting my car from ******* to *****. We agreed on 4-24-24 that my vehicle would be picked up on 5-2-24, as my daughter had a flight to catch on 5-3-24 and would not be available after. *********************** promised to make this happen after reaching out to me via email, text and telephone to gain my business. She also sent a $50 off the original price of the quote $595.00 since I followed the company on social media as an incentive bring the total to $545.00. I had no received an update on the time my vehicle would be picked up, so I reached out to ***** on 5-1-24, she informed me that she could not find a driver and was still looking. She asked for additional time (which would be the date of the actual requested pick up date of 5-2-24) to look for a driver. She promised to reach out to me the next morning with an update; however, I did not hear from *****. I ended up reaching out to her and she informed me that she still hadn't located a driver to pick up my vehicle by the date needed. Since this was the case, I asked the company to cancel the contract. ***** refused to cancel the contract, and when questioned about the policy and the fact that they didn't meet the required pick up date, ***** proceeded to disconnect the call. Additionally, I found out that ***** actually advertised to drivers a pick up price of $900, which was not the agreed upon price of $545. After she disconnected the call, I called back to ensure my request was honored and she refused. I asked for a manager and her manager's name, she refused to provide that information and disconnected the call again. As stated when reaching out the business, each of these calls were recorded. I would like a cancellation free of charge, I would like it to be documented in writing, and I wish to never do business with this company again.

    I originally did business with Sonic Auto Transportation with the hopes of shipping ny vehicle across country. I signed a contract and read it thoroughly. In the contract it clearly states The Broker has 5 business days in order to find the Carrier. If the Customer wants to terminate the contract before the 5 business days expire, the Customer may be responsible for a Cancellation Fee of $200, as well as If the Customer cancels the order prior to the assignment of a Carrier, the order will be canceled at no charge. However, if the Customer decides to cancel the order after a Carrier has been assigned (see Paragraph 9 of how we notify Customer) the reservation will NOT be refunded. ****** has the right to cancel any order at any time for any reason. I had to change my plans for shipping and decided to drive my car back instead. I am a traveling health care practitioner and was going from ******** to ******** area to perform heart surgery on patients in that area. So I told Sonic Auto that I was canceling my order. It clearly states they have 5 business days to find the carrier and if its been 5 business days I can cancel for no charge if they havent found one. They even have the audacity to not cancel my order until I pay the cancellation fee. Even go so far as not telling the actual carrier that the order is not canceled until I pay the fee. So the carrier will arrive to find my car not there. Please help me with the resolution to this issue. I have not paid any money yet because they are clearly in breach of contract and trying to strong arm and scam a hard working health professional

    DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY They are frauds and scam you. They never confirmed a carrier, never picked up the car, and charged $200 without authorization, violating their own terms of service. Refused to refund after their failure to perform any service. That is FRAUD!!TERRIBLE customer service - seemed annoyed when we scheduled a week ahead and asked for confirmation. Which they never gave nor were able to secure. They advertised an "all in" price of $795 ... then tried to say we had to pay $1300 to use the only "available" company the could find.Be warned and stay far away from these liars.

    Contacted Sonic over a month ago to have a car transported from ******** to *******, Md. they gave me a rate of $400.00. A driver contacted us for an April 25, 2024 pick up date here in ********. Got a text message from driver on 4/24/24 stating he could no longer do job. Several calls with Sonic and they gave me a revised quote initially of $2,400.00 then several calls later of $1,200.00. Each time I told them too high. I reached out to another company and contacted with them. *** from Sonic became belligerent in messages and on phone saying he would bill my credit card $200.00. He went on about you expect me to work for free and said he would win in the end. I told him they breeched any contact and that we suspected bait and switch. I canceled the debit card with my bank as I feared what I deemed fraudulent charges for service not rendered. When I called my bank today 4/24/24 the charge had not yet been processed.

    Canceled and charged $250 "fee" Red Flags Beware: a "broker" contractor company that sheds any responsibility after they tell you your vehicle will be picked up at the time, date and place listed. When it is not, they claim no responsibility and do not contact you. RI Contract Law says otherwise. Misleading Practices. A dishonest, predatory company that does not follow up.Contracts state that a fee will be charged only after vehicle is loaded onto a carrier truck. But then carrier reschedules more than once going well past the initial time slot/day and there is no accountability. My opinion is they run a Cancelation Fee Scam.After reading through BBB and Reddit reviews of some other dissatisfied customers with the EXACT same issue that I had, I am of the mind that Sonic Auto Transport intentionally and deliberately relies on dissatisfied, frustrated customers to try and make money off of cancelations. After reading some of Sonics reviews, I slso think they conspire with certain carriers to see that happens. A predatory company.Initially I had misgivings about using Sonic because of complaints about them.The Initial pickup time had or just about expired. I changed my initial offering price after not hearing anything from them for close to a week they immediately contacted me to say they had a driver to pick up my vehicle at the specified time and then the lies started. Sonic immediately broke contact with me after they said the found a transport company. My vehicle was not picked up and the driver/ dispatch company started lying to my person standing-by in ******* when it would be picked up. Changing it 3 times or more. Sonic Auto Transportation finally called me on Friday evening. Problem is the driver or dispatcher told my stand-by pick-up person he was in one area of ******* Sonic told me he was somewhere else. When I brought it to their attention the person expressed that he needed to call the dispatcher, then hung up with me and never called me back.

As per our records 04/16 was an estimated date when your vehicle was supposed to be picked-up, however delays/earlier arrivals may occur due to the many factors and neither pick up or delivery dates cannot be guaranteed.     This business  intentionally low balled the price of transporting my vehicle and did not contact me for 5 days after initial contact and not until I raised the offer with another Broker and 2 days before the agreed upon date. Immediately they "had a carrier in the area". They did NOT have someone in the area. That was a lie so they could keep the contract.

    All of a sudden on the agreed upon pick-up date, the carrier truck has mechanical issues? No, unacceptable and it is certainly not acceptable that the Broker thinks they have no responsibility in the matter. That is a huge way to defraud people.  I am accusing this carrier of fraud and conspiring with the carrier company to intentionally defraud people out of a cancelation fee by telling them they found a carrier in the are when there was none. Prove to BBB where the carrier was when it was accepted. 

    They need to provide copies of the driver logs for that week and any receipts for automotive work done that week.

    They need to refund that "cancellation" fee charged to my account. RI Contract Law Supercides. 

    My intent is also to report them to the **** California ************************* ******* and ************* AG's office respectively.

    As an auto transport broker, we provide a quote for the amount we believe it will cost to ship your vehicle. This estimate is based on thousands of similar shipments. Our service is to arrange transportation for the route requested by the customer. This means we'll negotiate on your behalf with a huge network of carriers and work with them to service your specific route. ( Info in the contract 2 )

    Pick-up and delivery dates are estimated and you were informed about it as well, according to the driver confirmation email that was sent to you on day when carrier was assigned to your order it's states that 04/16 was an estimated Pick-up date, as well as it's reflected in the contract that you reviewed ( Info in the contract 3 ). We rely on your understanding!

    I first got a quote from ***************************** at Sonic to transport my car from ******* to *********** on March 14, for $875. I spoke with ********* on Friday, March ***************************************************************************** ******* the following Monday, April 1, for the quoted price of $875. The "driver" (let's be honest, it could've just been someone posing) texted me over the weekend confirming that he was coming and then BAM! he cancels on me on Monday morning. *********, knowing I am under the gun to get my car transported to *********** ASAP, "finds" another driver who can pick my car up that afternoon, but only if I agree to pay a fee of $1,400 instead of the $875 we had previously agreed on (complete bait-and-switch). I had few options at that point so I agreed. Then I find out that they can't pick up my car that afternoon, and I have to DRIVE it across town the next morning so they can take it. It was supposed to be door-to-door service, especially considering I'm paying a higher price! So I brought my car to the driver the next morning with the agreement that it would be delivered to my home in *********** on Saturday. On Friday April 5 ********* confirmed it would be delivered the next day, but couldn't confirm a window of time that it'd be delivered. I was then told to call the driver/dispatch company **************** directly, who told me they wouldn't deliver it until Monday April 8! This was not as promised and I needed my car for a new job I was starting. When I raised ****, the best they were able to do was make me Uber across LA to a sketchy tow yard to retrieve it that Saturday (which cost me $46). THEN, during the inspection pickup I noted a scratch on the side of the *** which was not there previously. Now I need to file a claim with their insurance company and deal with that extra stress as my car has damage that it didn't have before. Considering all that I went through and the car damage I think I am owed a refund.

    I contacted Sonic auto transportation approximately 2 days ago to inquire about transporting my vehicles from ***** to ********. I received a quote from their representative ( ***********************) to ship 2 cars for the sum of $900.00, via text message. ***************** then sent me the order form and I submitted my credit card information to hold the reservation. About an hour later **************** informed me that she made a mistake the quote for both vehicles was now $1500.00. I informed her that this seemed like a deceptive practice and I no longer wanted to conduct business with Sonic auto transportation, she began text me profusely stating things like you didnt look at what you signed and the contract is binding. I stated to her that her quote was for 900 and if she could not honor that than I would just go do business elsewhere. She stated that she could only cancel the contract if something was wrong with the contract. I ask her repeatedly to cancel the reservation which she refused, and the contract is wrong as it states that I have 2 of the same vehicles for shipping. Now she is saying I owe a ****** cancellation fee for a service that was not provided nor has the company inflicted in harm as I requested a cancellation within an hour of booking the reservation. This companys representatives attitude was heinous and combative , I pray that this is an anomaly and not a true reflection of how this companys treats its customers or potential customers. As a service member who has shipped vehicles all over the continental ************* I have never experienced such disrespect and lack of professionalism from a transport company. I read such glowing reviews from satisfied customers, this is the reason I picked ********************** but if this is how they conduct business I can only imagine how they would treat my vehicles.

Unfortunately, in case if the customer has signed a contract we can proceed with a cancellation without a charge only after 5 business days ( from first available pick up date ) would expire. We rely on your understanding!

    this response is unacceptable as I requested the cancellation within hours of signing the contract. Furthermore, the signed contract is incorrect making it void and invalid on its face. This company is reprehensible and to do this to an active duty service member is disgusting. This company would suffer no monetary loss by canceling this reservation and their actions at this point are just adversarial and clearly nothing more than vindictiveness and malice. Its unfortunate that this company chooses to conduct itself in this manner, this is not only a reflection of their organization it is also a reflection of the service they provide. Therefore, my stance remains the same - I would like a cancellation of the reservation as the service will not be provided and I notified the companys representative no less than 2 hours of making the reservation that I needed it cancelled. This has caused your organization no monetary loss or damage.
