      A few months ago like around May 2025, I contacted this business to place my account on hold due to personal reasons. I was under the impression that the request had been processed correctly. However, I recently learned that my account had been marked inactive and that neither my husband nor I are currently enrolled all without any prior notice or communication. Asking me that re-enrollment were necessary at a higher cost. Further, my sister attempted to join under my membership but was told she couldnt because I wasnt active. When I asked a representative over the phone 7/9/25 at 8:50pm over a 7 minute conversation, ***** *********, declined to share any information about my sisters account, citing privacy regulations because she is 18. However, just a few minutes later, he disclosed to my sister that I owed $270.00 and that my account was closed which is a clear breach of my personal financial information.This experience raises serious concerns about how this business handles:Member account ********************** Proper communication with clients Confidentiality and data privacy Desired Resolution:Immediate reinstatement of my membership and my husband's membership.An investigation into why my account hold request was not honored.An explanation and appropriate disciplinary action regarding the privacy breach.Compensation or a discount to reflect the inconvenience, service disruption, and the unacceptable handling of my personal ************** requesting the BBB assist in facilitating a resolution to this matter, as my efforts to resolve it directly have been unsuccessful.

      On 5/26/25, I went into the Caramel mountain 24hr gym and canceled my yearly membership. I was told by the employee that the had canceled it. About a month later my credit card was charged for the renew ******. I went into the gym and they advised me to contact corporate because they handle the refunds. The manger at the gym advised they had imputed a note in my account that the membership was canceled prior to renewal. Ive tried calling several times, Ive written several emails to the gym with no solution. Ive tried my credit card company dispute with no solution because 24hr responded with a generic letter of membership renewal. According to gym employee/ manager 24h corporate handles all refunds and I cant get a hold of anyone to assist. Corporate refunds can only be done with in 7 days of charge yet I could get a hold of.

      I am filling this complain for me and My Cousine **** ******* because we didnt together. We paid for a private coaching at 24 hour fitness green acres, ************* for one month. When I was doing it I told them it was for only one month. And I asked will I get charged automatically because I dont want that. They said no. And after that they automatically charged me. They didnt verbally tell me that and when I asked they said no. The person who filled the form was ******* he is a manager.

      I bought personal training sessions for **** ****** the ** at 24 Hour Fitness in *************, *************** ************. I was told by **** I could cancel any time I want I only needed to tell my trainer ****** or him. I was over charger for personal training. I canaled with my trainer ******, by text and voice mail also left a message for the ** Mall.,2 weeks before it was due to auto charge. This was 6 weeks ago. I did speak to ***** the Asst *** he told me he has done every thing he could but *********** or his DM is not getting ack to him. I attached the text message I sent ****** on 5/28/2025 canceling the auto charge

      I am writing to formally file a complaint against 24 Hour Fitness USA regarding unauthorized charges on my account following my in-person *************** May 2023, I visited the 24 Hour Fitness location in *******, **********, and canceled my gym membership in person. Despite this, I was charged the annual membership fee in June 2023 and again in June 2024, totaling two years of charges after my cancellation.I only discovered these continued charges when I received a letter in May 2025, which prompted me to investigate my billing history. To my dismay, I realized that I had been billed annually even though I had not used the facility at all since my cancellationsomething that can be verified in their check-in records.When I visited the ********, ********** location in person to report the issue and request a refund, I was told that they have no record of my cancellation and therefore cannot issue any refunds. I firmly believe this is incorrect, as I clearly canceled my membership in person at the ******* branch in May 2023. I even suggested they review their security video footage from that time, which would confirm my visit and interaction with the front desk staff.This situation is not only deeply frustrating but also financially unfair. I request a full refund for the charges made in June 2023 and June 2024, and a formal correction of my membership status to reflect my original cancellation in May 2023.Thank you for your time and assistance in resolving this matter.

      We rely on our members to review financial statements to ensure proper billing on their memberships.  Non-use of the facility or facilities is not a basis for refund of prepaid dues.       Thank you for your response. However, the explanation that I should have raised this issue within 30 days is not acceptable in my case.

      I cancelled my membership in person at the *******, ** location in May 2023, prior to moving to *******************. At the time of cancellation, I was not issued any proof or documentation, and I was not informed that such would be necessary to confirm the process. Since my family continued to have active memberships, it did not occur to me that my cancelled membership would continue to be billedespecially because I had made my cancellation request directly with a staff member at your facility, as required by your policies.

      Your reference to non-usage of the facility is irrelevant in this context, as my complaint is not about unused time, but about being billed after I followed the proper cancellation process in person. Additionally, your facility should have video evidence of my visit and request to cancel in May 2023, which has not been reviewed or addressed in your response.

      The burden should not fall entirely on members to police your billing for a cancelled contract, particularly after completing the in-person cancellation process as your policies direct. I respectfully request you reconsider the refund, given that your stated procedures were followed and that my requests for proof and footage review have not been addressed.

      Hello, 

      The reference to nonuse of the club comes from the notes in the membership when the request was made for a refund. The notes states: The member's mom called in requesting to cancel her daughter's membership. The member has not been using the membership. the mother stated that she came in to cancel her account about 2 years ago but is still being charge. requesting a refund for 2 years. The notes are from 05/23/2025.  The request was denied at that time.  

      On 05/17/2023, 05/07/2024, and 05/07/2025 emails were sent to ****************************** advising the membership payment was due.  This is an indication that the membership was still active.  In addition, we are not able to alter the cancellation date in our system. Section 3E of the agreement states, If there is an error in an amount billed under this Agreement, you must notify us within *********************************************************************** we will not be obligated to re-credit your account.

      I would like to clarify and reiterate the following points:

      Cancellation in Person: I cancelled my membership in person at the ******* location in May 2023, as per the gyms cancellation policy. At that time, the front desk team member confirmed the cancellation verbally. I requested any documentation, but none was provided.

      No Receipt of Payment Reminder Emails: Contrary to your records, I did not receive the emails dated 05/17/2023, 05/07/2024, or 05/07/2025 regarding payment dues. Upon request, and under confidential terms, I can provide screenshots of my email inbox from those dates that show these emails are not in my records. I only became aware of the ongoing charges when a renewal letter was sent to my home address.

      Family Membership Confusion: There is another family member, ****** *****, who has a membership at the same gym. Due to this, it was not immediately apparent to us that the charges on my specific credit card were still occurring, which explains why the issue was not caught earlier.

      Request for Video Confirmation: To resolve this, I request that you review the security video footage from May 2023 at the Fremont gym to confirm my in-person visit for the cancellation.

      Dispute Timing & Terms: I understand your reference to Section 3E regarding notification within 30 days of the charge; however, given the reasons above, I was unaware of the charges continuing and thus unable to dispute earlier. The membership was represented as canceled by your staff, which reasonably led me to believe it was inactive.
      Given these points, I kindly ask you to reconsider my refund request for the disputed charges and assist me in resolving this issue promptly.

      On July 2, 2025, I received a threatening call from 24-Hr Fitness in ******** regarding a disputed payment they claim is due, which **************** has confirmed as paid.On June 3, 2025, I paid for four personal training sessions at the 24-Hr Fitness location in *******, ** (********************************, Phone: **************). I completed three sessions. The fourth session, scheduled for June 10, 2025, was cancelled by 24-Hr Fitness due to my trainer being required to attend an all-day staff training in another town. I was only in ******** from June 113, 2025, and had scheduled the sessions based on mutual availability. The staff knew of my limited availability, including the front desk employee who signed me up and my trainer, Rain ******.I have been emailing with ******** from customer service ***************************** On June 12, 2025, I spoke with the manager, requesting a refund of the $91.00 for the cancelled session. He refused, stating they could only refund all or nothing. He claimed he would email upper management but expressed no hope of success. I then disputed the charge for the $91.00 with *****************I have provided Britanya with documentation showing that **************** confirmed the full payment of $364.00 for the three completed sessions, and the only refund requested was for the cancelled $91.00 session. On July 2, 2025, I spoke with **************** again, and they asked 24-Hr Fitness to contact their ***************** team at ************** to verify payment and the refund for one session.Despite numerous attempts to resolve this, 24-Hr Fitness has refused to contact **************** to confirm the payment and continues to harass me while refusing to close my account.

      Deceptive Free Pass Promotion Bait-and-Switch Tactic at 24 Hour Fitness **************** Business Name:24 Hour Fitness ****************************************** Complaint Details:I received a promotional offer for a free 3-day pass from 24 Hour Fitness via their official website. The pass specifically listed the **************** location (*******************************************************************************) as eligible. After registering and receiving the pass via email, I visited the location expecting to redeem ***** my surprise, the front desk refused to honor the pass, stating they dont accept the corporate free passeseven though the location is actively advertised on 24 Hour Fitnesss own website. They attempted to charge me $30 for the same 3-day access that was supposed to be free. When I questioned this, the staff admitted they encounter many customers daily with the same pass and routinely turn them away or ask for payment.This is not an isolated incident. A quick review of online customer reviews for this location reveals that this is a known issue. The franchise continues to promote this free pass on their corporate site, only for local staff to upsell or reject the pass entirely. In several responses to complaints, the business provides a generic Contact Us link but never resolves the issueindicating no sincere intent to correct the behavior.This is a clear case of false advertising and a bait-and-switch scam. It wastes customers time, disrespects their trust, and undermines the integrity of the brand. Its unacceptable that a national gym chain would repeatedly allow one of its locations to mislead and exploit people in this way.

      3-day pass is valid beginning on your first day of usage at a club. Pass good at multiple locations. User must not have been a guest or member of 24 Hour Fitness within the last 6 months. Photo ID required. Local residents only. No other discounts can be used with this offer. Must be at least 18 years old or 12 with parent. 

      We did find where the General Manager of the club reached out to you by email on 7/5/2025.  Hi ****. Thanks for creating your pass to 24 Hour Fitness. Simply bring your ID to the front desk to check in. We can also set you up with premium access to our app for workout ideas and more. Reply if you have any questions!

      We are not sure how the ball was dropped upon your arrival.  We have forwarded the complaint the General Manager and District Manager to speak with team members regarding guest passes.  The General Manager will reach out to you regarding your complaint.

      At the end of May2025, I cancelled my future sessions with my personal trainer. This was done in person and he showed me that it was cancelled. On June 10, 2025, I noticed that there was a charge to my credit card in the amount of $320.40 which was the cost of an additional 3 months with the personal trainer. I immediately contacted the trainer and the 24 Hour Fitness *******************, ** location. The manager assured me that I would receive a refund, as did the trainer. After several weeks, I called the General Manager who told me that the refunds were handled by one department at corporate and he had submitted my information several times. This seems to be a common practice with 24 Hour Fitness and I would like to have it resolved. Thank you

      I am filing this complaint because 24Hr Fitness La Jolla wrongfully charged me a membership renewal fee despite my explicit request to cancel before the renewal date. I requested my cancellation request in person and was assured the renewal would not occur. This was in early February just before I moved out of town, which was well before the renewal was scheduled to occur (June).However, on June 7, I was charged $270 for a renewal I did not authorize. I immediately contacted the gym regarding the charge, but they claimed that a reminder email was sent (which I have no record of) and that no refund could be issued.I am seeking a full refund of the unauthorized charge and confirmation that my membership has been properly terminated. I expect this to be resolved promptly, and I would like assurance that I will not be charged again in the future.

      On March 30, 2025, I was charged for an annual membership for 24 Hour Fitness. All gym locations in *******, where I have been residing for two years, closed 30 days later on May 1, 2025. I am not able to utilize the membership that I purchased because the gym is no longer a 24 Hour Fitness. All emails that I have attempted to send to 24 Hour Fitness have bounced back, and phone calls are not being returned. This is a case of breach of contract by 24 Hour Fitness as they have not honored my ability to use the gym that I paid for.

The membership that would be offered to me by Crunch Fitness is not remotely comparable to the membership I paid for at 24-hour fitness: It is not a 24-hour gym, it does not offer me nationwide access, and it does not come with two ***** passes. These are the reasons I renewed with 24-hour fitness specifically.
