My request to ODOO based on false advertising and untrue claims is for a refund based on their dishonest selling. We are a small REMOVEDtrying to reduce cost and consolidate software, so the way ODOO was sold it was a dream come true. During the demonstration we asked the right questions, and they gave us the answers we wanted to hear and then after we paid for a year upfront, then the issues started. Everything we did in the basic function of accounting and adding our team for timekeeping has an upsell or additional cost associated with it. This is completely opposite of what was sold. Here is my request for a refund. REMOVED,I'm writing to formally request a full refund of US$597.60 for the Odoo subscription I purchased on May 5, 2026 (Standard plan, 2 users, 1-year term). The product has not delivered the functionality I was told it would, and the core capabilities I need cannot be used without additional paid upgrades and add-ons that were never disclosed before purchase:- Within eight days of paying, my database was flagged (May 13) to upgrade to the Custom Plan or be blocked in 30 days. I run a single company, I have not used Studio (it's uninstalled), and I still cannot understand why basic functions like CRM, Accounting, Payroll, and Signatures would push me beyond the Standard environment.- On user licensing for time and payroll, I was told employees would not need to be system users. In practice, Odoo's own documentation and my experience show employees must be licensed users to clock in/out unless I purchase a kiosk/badge device or manually enter hours. That is a material difference from what I was sold. The net result is that the software, as represented to me, does not work for a service company without spending well beyond what I agreed to. I raised my intent to cancel on May 19 and asked about your refund policy, and I'm now formally requesting that refund.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID REMOVED, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me if they did in fact post this to the correct part of their company. How can I confirm they actually posted the issue to the correct branch in their company?

Complaint summary:Odoo charged our company an approximately $7,100 CAD unsupported-version fee that we dispute and do not believe we contractually accepted. We requested proof of acceptance, such as a signed renewal, order form, click-through record, or other acceptance record. Instead, Odoo closed/restricted our database access. We paid under pressure to restore access to our business system. After restoration, our REMOVEDemail fetch service began failing and was repeatedly deactivated due to timeouts. Odoo support acknowledged the mail process was failing/crashing, but the issue could not be resolved immediately and had to be escalated.Requested resolution:We request refund or reversal of the disputed unsupported-version fee, written confirmation of the contractual basis Odoo claims applies, reimbursement/credit for business interruption and support time, immediate technical resolution of the email-fetch issue, and access to a complete database backup/export including filestore and attachments.

This Canadian customer has reached out on the San REMOVEDpage for an account that is managed by the REMOVED, REMOVEDoffice (REMOVED). While we dont have control of this account in San Francisco, we have forwarded the information to the Buffalo office.

We understand that the complaint is related to a recently introduced fee structure associated with the cost of supporting customers who choose to continue to use older versions of the software. According to our records, the customer received the following notice in October 2025 regarding this upcoming change.

      Oct 28, 2025, 3:51 AM
Subject: New Odoo Enterprise Terms for long term support
Received the mailing New Odoo Enterprise Terms for long term support
      Dear Customer,
We upgraded our contract terms to support you for the long term. Here is a summary:
      - REMOVEDno longer limited to the last 3 versions (10+ years)
      - Bugfixes: a fix will be provided for your version (whenever possible), or one of the last 3 ones
      - An annual 25% extra fee will be charged for legacy versions starting on April 2026 for v16
      - REMOVEDextended to 5 years instead of 3 years. Extensions might be purchased at extra price
Until now, Odoo Enterprise support covered only the 3 most recent versions only, up to 3 years.
As you use a version 16 (or older); your version wouldnt be supported anymore. But many customers asked for longer-term support, to avoid upgrading frequently.
We're excited to announce that Odoo Enterprise support now covers all versions of Odoo with no deprecations. Whether you're on the latest release or an older one, you'll continue to receive assistance, bug fixes, upgrades, and security updates.
Upgrading has always been a priority at Odoo so much so that it's included for free in your Enterprise subscription. Each new version brings improvements, features, and a better user experience.
That said, ending support after three years just to push upgrades never felt quite right. So we're changing the model. Starting now, older versions (> 3 releases) will remain supported but with a 25% additional fee on the annual subscription. The charge is annual and applied once per year, even for multi-year contracts.
You now have the choice to upgrade before April 1, 2026 - or pay a small extra fee for legacy support.
If you upgrade afterward, you wont be charged again next year, but the fee already paid wont be reimbursed.

I am getting spam from an Odoo user. Spam-houses li,e REMOVEDusually offer a way to have your address permanently blocked off their system for ALL users. Odoo has no way for a NON-customer or potential customer to contact them to request a block or complain about illegal spamming by one of their customers. I would like to reach them and have them take action against the spammer, and put a permanent block on all mail sent to my email addresses by ANY of their customers.

In February 2026, after a billing dispute, we signed and paid for a Standard plan (1 user). The database was reactivated upon that specific payment the only charge we authorized. On February 4, 2026, Odoo's system automatically generated an unauthorized charge of US$ REMOVED(SO2026/7340337) based on residual database elements we were never instructed to remove. REMOVED(Customer Success) confirmed in writing that she manually reverted the plan. Despite this, a second unauthorized charge of US$ REMOVED(SO2026/7340337-2) was applied the following cycle. REMOVEDacknowledged the system overrode her own manual reversion. Notably, when the first correct charge of US$ REMOVEDwas processed, those same residual elements were present in the database proving the downgrade had already been recognized by Odoo. We were never warned that automatic upgrades could occur. Manager REMOVEDissued a one-line denial and has ignored all follow-up attempts for over two weeks.

After years of utilizing Odoo, I can state unequivocally that they have become the most compromised service provider in the current market. Their business model has shifted from innovation to a "hostage-taker" strategy designed to undermine the very customers they claim to support. The REMOVEDPattern of Failure: Predatory Pricing: They implement arbitrary annual price hikes of 10% or more. Their most recent tactic involves a fabricated "November 2025" email to justify "compliance fees" for older versionsa transparent lie used to extract unearned revenue. Non-Existent Support: Their "technical support" is a layer of bureaucracy designed to delay, not solve. By outsourcing to low-cost centers in REMOVEDwith zero accountability, they ensure that any technical hurdle becomes a billing opportunity rather than a resolution. The "Kill Switch" Threat: They provide no value-add, yet demand more money under the threat of shutting down your essential business services. It is a trap: once you are integrated, they treat you as a captive source of income rather than a partner. The Bottom Line: Odoos marketing materials are a fabrication. Every step they take is designed to undermine the customer and prioritize short-term extraction over long-term stability. In the professional world, this behavior is eventually penalized by the market. We are officially done with Odoo and are migrating to a platform that operates with actual integrity. If you value your company's independence and your capital, stay away. You have been warned.

      Complaint: 24736241

I am formally rejecting Odoo's recent response.
Let me be perfectly clear: Your attempt to charge for "Maintenance and Support" is a demand for payment for services never rendered. For over three months, we attempted to utilize your support channels, only to find that your India-based technicians were entirely incapable of providing solutions or bug fixes for our version.
To charge for a service that was neither available nor delivered is, in my view, broad daylight robbery.
We have paid your "forced" invoice under protest to maintain business continuity for our national retail clients, yet even after payment, Odoo attempted to hold our database hostage with a May 1st expiration date. After I sent them severals emails, including to their Belgian contacts, immediately afterwards, out database was ready again to be used.
      Take note:
Service Failure: Your support has been non-existent. We have documented three months of wasted time with useless support interactions.
Billing Malpractice: You are charging for "upgrades" and "fixes" that do not exist for our deployment.
Market Warning: As a senior executive in the security industry for over 30 years, I am giving fair warning to my professional network and any entity considering Odoo: this is an organization that prioritizes deceptive billing over functional ERP support.
We are finished with the excuses and the "smoke and mirrors." This record will stand as our formal position on this matter.

      Sincerely,

      REMOVEDLyov

I'm a small business owner who participated in multiple introductory and onboarding meetings with Odoo's sales REMOVEDs. REMOVED3 video meetings that highlighted the different software features that could assist with our business processes, we were pressured to pay $132.90 to enroll in a subscription on 1/30/26. We were also being pressured to purchase an additional technical support package for $4,000 to assist us with any "in depth" technical needs. We turned down their additional $4,000 package and enrolled in their basic software subscription. Ultimately, my admin and I spent the equivalent of 2 business days attempting to import our client list into their software and were unsuccessful. We watched every video online and read every article we could find in hopes that it would guide us in accomplishing this task. Nothing worked. I contacted their support teams via chat for assistance, and was told that I would receive the help I needed if I purchase their $4000 technical support package. I then asked to cancel and requested a refund, and was directed to speak with the sales REMOVEDwho enrolled us. We left multiple voicemails and emails with the REMOVEDwho enrolled us and received a response days later from another manager who stated, their company policy does not offer refunds and all sales are final and then hung up the phone. I have not used their software at all due to the inability to import my client list into their system. I've spent 4 business days begging for help and being told I could only receive help if I spend more money. I've have not been able to collect a weeks worth or recurring revenue due to this issue and was scolded and hung up on by one of their managers.

This customer purchased a software subscription, which did not include implementation support; these are separate services from the software license, which is clearly indicated (REMOVED). While the online community and support documentation for Odoo are quite extensive, he requested assistance directly from us in importing a contact list, and his account manager attempted to walk him through the importation process. Bear in mind that the customers subscription did not include implementation services. However, the client became upset that he would have to ensure that the fields of his spreadsheet were properly formatted, thus would be recognized by the software. He insisted upon receiving services that he had previously rejected, as he was not interested in purchasing an implementation package. When the team lead attempted to discuss his claim for a refund in that we could not perform implementation services for him as he hadnt purchased such a package, he raised his voice with her on the telephone and she eventually disconnected the call. The terms and conditions of the software agreement were readily available to the customer at all times. We have provided them again for reference:

I deeply regret ever geting involved with Odoo. Their sales and marketing teams do a great job of selling their products. However, when it comes time to implement all the programs ODOO doesn't come close o doing what they say it can do. Constant design flaws, work arounds and "manual fixes" in order to make their software actually function. Then they blame the client for poor implementation, follow through or education. But that's not the worst of it. Afer 2 weeks of trying to get ODOO "implemented" (this is the term they like to refer too) it was very clear this was bad choice for me and my business. I spent $6000 on a 5 year subscrition. When I asked for a refund they said my money is non refundable. This is a reprehesible practice!! Any business that offers business solutions, should be proud to refund your money if their product is not a great fit. This alone should be enough to scare any potentia buyer away! By the way, they DO NOT tell you their product is non refundable ahead of time. Instead, they just steal your money. Please, avoid this company! Their sales guys will do a very good job of selling. But their product will come up WAY short, you'll get almost zero support, and they will just flat take your money. I've writen them off as a loss and moved on to other solutions for my business. Please don't make the same mistake I did. Awful company I would avoid at all costs.

Upon review of the account, this clients issue appears to primarily revolve around their experience with REMOVEDCalendar synchronization. As was shared with the client on June 13, 2025: The requirement regarding REMOVEDCalendar syncing was not something that was brought up during our initial evaluation of Odoo. That said, our implementation team has provided a workable method to sync all your REMOVEDCalendars, and we are here to support you in getting that set up. As discussed during our evaluation, Odoo was selected based on its ability to meet the core requirements you outlined - Contacts, Website, CRM, Sales, and Accounting. Odoo remains well-suited for those needs, and we recommend focusing on getting the system configured around the objectives we originally aligned on.

In August of 2025, internal adjustments regarding this account were made to assist the client with their implementation and we provided an additional ten hours of support at no cost. Until this complaint was filed with the BBB, the last communication identified from the client was a message on September 1, 2025 that did not address our recommended support solutions, but instead a desire and intention to besmirch Odoos reputation.

As always, the Odoo Enterprise Agreement and Terms of Sale were and are available to all current and prospective customers: REMOVED.

      Complaint: 24497782

I am rejecting this response because:

      1.  My problems with Odoo were not simply REMOVEDCalendar syncronization.  I reject their response entirely.

I am asking for $3000 in a refund.  I am willing to give Odoo $3000,..... for nothing, just to get away from them.  I will also refrain from social media posts and any other negative comments (which I've only made to them direct and to the BBB)  if they simply refund HALF of my fees.  I've gone over a full year now, and I haven't made one single reservation on the Odoo system.  Frankly I'm terrified to link my bank accounts to this system based on my experience with this company so far.

Background:  I purchased their aps program for roughly $6000 for 5 year term.  I was assured in the sales process that all the items that I requested were possbile.   CRM, Contacts, Accounting, Sales, Website and Accounting integration etc.  They explained that Odoo is a series of APS, that all communicate with one another and that they could be purchased basically ala carte however it suited my business.  I liked the idea so I requested a presentation.  Their SALES process was very good.  They showed their processes, their sales guys followed up and their demonstations were smooth and clear.  They highlighted how items flowed from one ap to another and reassured me regularly that all these "aps" would be fully inegrated and that processing beween them would be "seamless".  They also highlighted how their aps would connect with REMOVEDCalendars an other outside products like Quick Books and others if needed but that they had their own banking ap.   Before I puchased, I specifcally requested a demo about banking, tax and financial services as that was my number one concern.  That presentation was choppy and not very clear.  I had reservations, but I went ahead anyway figuring all the other pieces seemed straight forward enough.   Included in that purchase was roughly REMOVEDhours of implmentation time from their implemetation team.

At the first implementation meeting, (via Zoom or REMOVEDMeet) the tech comes on and one of his first questions is, "REMOVED, what would you like me to do".  I was shocked.  My response was, "I don't know.  I've never done this before".  I assumed that their implementation teams would have a work flow, a process or a set of guildelines that he would walk me through.   That is not the case.    We agreed to start by importing all my contacts.   I sent over my contacts in a CV file, and we adjourned.  After that 1 hour meeting, I recieve a bill that docked me 6-8 hours of implementation time.  This was my first clue that I had made a mistake purchasing Odoo.  There is NO WAY it took that long to import my contacts.  Knowing that was literally a click of a button, I felt cheated immediately.  Like their tech was just trying to burn up all my implememtation time as fast as possible.

At our next meeting, we discussed REMOVEDCalandar.  I had several calendars to choose from, my personal, another business I manage, and RRO.  I specifically asked several times if Odoo can manage all these calendars.  Their sales team blew off any concerns about REMOVEDCalendars with a simple, "We will sync ALL your REMOVEDCalendars, that is not a problem".   (Something also repeated in their response to this commplaint by the way.)   I learned in that second meeting that not only does Odoo not integrate easily REMOVEDcalendars, but that it would ONLY integrate MY MAIN REMOVEDCalendar, and nothing more!

So now, my personal Gmail Calendar, includng silly birthdays, Presidents birthdays, National Holidays and other nonsense was automatically added to my "business calendar" on Odoo.  I had to adjust all my entire calendar interactions with all my other busiensses to make this work.  Even today, if my wife sends an invite to dinner, it shows up on my business account on REMOVED.   It's just sloppy, messy and unprofessional.    The tech offered no support, other than to say "He would try to find a work around".  At this point I asked for a refund of my money.  I could tell right away that to use Odoo effectively, I would need extensive technical knowldege of mulptile systems including REMOVED, and that the Odoo Techs would be little help.  After some back and forth, me requesting a refund, them denying it, I was assigned a new tech.  Odoo did add a few additional hours of "implementation services" after my concerns.  HOWEVER, I didn't want to proceed with Odoo at all.   They said, "we don't offer refunds".  This was also NEVER discussed in the sales process!!!   If they had mentioned that their products were non refundable for any reason, I would have never purchased.

It became very obvious to me that Odoo was not nearly as easy as they make it look in their sales presentations.   In their response, they mention that I hadn't contacted Odoo since last September?   That's correct.   BUT THEY DIDNT CONTACT ME EITHER, even though they owed me services!!  I still have a credit hours for implementation, and  I haven't heard from and Odoo Tech support since last June!    I didn't contact them, beacuse I have been so dissappointed.   Instead, I spent the last 6 months hiring a third party vendor!!   I paid them an additional $1200 to essentially do what Odoo's "implementation team" was unwilling (or unable) to do for me.  They set up my REMOVEDcalendar, website integration, lead collection and other items!!  ALL of this is what the Odoo tech should have handled from the start.

I am curently $7200 in the hole, with aps that need extensive technical knowledge to set up and operate.  I still don't have banking and finacial data integrations which was my #1 concern of this entire deal.  I haven't heard form their REMOVEDin over 6 months, and I've gotten WAY more from this third party vendor than I have from Odoo.   It's crystal clear there are better options for me.  I'm just trying to cut my losses at this point.

What I'm asking is simple.   Refund me HALF of what I paid.

I haven't recieved any benefit from my purchase of Odoo, only headaches.   Truthfully Odoo isn't really out much either.  A few hours of tech time.  And for that time, I had to pay someone else to come in an do that actual work anyway!

      Sincerely,

      REMOVED

My organization evaluated Odoo through multiple trial periods and was generally satisfied with the software itself. However, our evaluation process was ultimately terminated due to extremely aggressive and inappropriate sales conduct by an Odoo sales representative, REMOVED.Despite having a call explicitly scheduled for the day our trial ended, the representative began calling repeatedly earlier in the day, placing six or more unsolicited calls within a single day. There was no justification for this volume of contact. After multiple unanswered calls, the representative escalated by calling from his personal mobile phone. After the sixth call, I explicitly instructed him not to call me again and stated that his behavior was unethical and unprofessional. Despite this clear opt-out request, he proceeded to call again afterward.I informed the representative that his behavior alone was the reason our organization would not proceed with Odoo. Even after being told that his conduct had directly caused Odoo to lose this business, I received a follow-up sales email attempting to continue the subscription process. This experience was deeply frustrating and invasive. While we were comfortable with the product, we were not comfortable with how Odoo violated personal and professional boundaries during the sales process. The repeated calls, escalation to a personal phone, and disregard for an explicit request to stop contacting us created an environment that felt coercive and abusive. We believe it is important for other organizations to be aware of these sales practices before engaging with Odoo.

We regret that Ms. REMOVEDand her organization had this negative experience. It is never our intent to be a source of frustration or disruption. Once we were informed on January 29 of what occurred, we took steps on January 30 to remedy the situation in line with her requests, including reassignment of the account, an extension of the trial period so that her company could continue its internal evaluation, and other internal corrective actions on our part.

We were lied to by Odoo sales team and manager. They told us we could import our own data into the REMOVEDand we were not able to. The slid a no canacellation line into the contract after they knew we couldn't import our data and lied about how it would be done. They tried to charge us $3500 additional to adress the implementation issues. When we reached out to their manager he refused to help us and also refused to refund our money. The have a history of doing this apparently as all of their negative reviews and. Complaints have to do with implementation. We would line a refund and this account was a failure to launch. They should be help accountable for the shady sales tactics and contract manipulation.

This is a client of the Odoo office in REMOVED, REMOVEDand appears to have filed a duplicate complaint with the San Francisco office. The following response was previously shared with them on the Odoo Buffalo page with the BBB of Upstate REMOVED:

"The customer purchased a subscription on December 4 without an implementation package. Shortly after purchase, the customer reported experiencing errors while attempting to upload their data. Our team made multiple attempts to assist by requesting the necessary information required to diagnose the issue, including screenshots, specific error messages, or details regarding the steps where the problem occurred. Despite repeated requests, the customer did not provide any of the requested information. Additionally, no support tickets were submitted through our official support system, which is the required channel for documenting, tracking, and resolving technical issues. Without error details, system logs, or a submitted support request, we were unable to verify whether the reported issue was related to a system malfunction versus user configuration or platform familiarity. Nevertheless, our team continued to offer assistance and encouraged the customer to provide the information needed to move forward. Ultimately, the customer chose not to engage further with support or cooperate with the troubleshooting process. Based on the information available, we have no evidence of a system error or service failure on our end. We remain willing to assist should the customer choose to submit a support ticket and provide the necessary details for investigation."

I am rejecting this response because: this is complete lie. We signed in Dec 5th, called sales REMOVEDa few times the week of the 10th and Dec 16th formally requested a refund.11 days not 3 weeks.  We called support and were told they would not help us due to no implementation pkg being purchased. The manager refused to do anything until he was notified we were disputing this and filing a complaint. Too late as we had to review our zoho subscription.  We have our own implementation team as we are a software company. They know what they are doing.  Your system was erroring and your sales REMOVEDsaw the error for himself,

      Sincerely,

On December 3, 2025, I was charged $31.50 (Invoice INV/2025/82702) for 3 users on Odoo Standard Plan when I only use 1 user.I subscribed as a single user. I created 2 additional users only to test Odoo's web chat feature, these accounts have zero activity. Odoo's own system data confirms only 1 "Active" REMOVED's pricing page shows "per user/month" but does not warn that creating users automatically triggers billing No confirmation prompt appears when adding users to show billing impact When I tried to delete these test users, Odoo's system gave a "Validation Error" preventing deletion I am being charged for users I cannot remove myself My account manager refused a refund, citing "Odoo policy." He told me to delete the users, but the system won't allow it.I request a refund of $22.40 for the 2 unused test users, or credit toward future billing.Evidence available: Invoice, The account manager sent me the system screenshot showing Active=1, so why am I being charged for extra 2 users?

      Business Response

Basic pricing for Odoo is per regular user account per month (REMOVED). Referencing the Odoo Enterprise Subscription Agreement (REMOVED), a user account in this case is defined as Any user account indicated as active in the Software, with access to creation and/or edition mode. Deactivated user accounts and accounts used by external people (or systems) who only have limited access to the Software through the portal facilities (known as portal Users) are not counted as Users. In the internal interface image that was shared with the customer, the billable user accounts are those under the column Regular The next column is only used to gauge how many accounts are regularly logging into the database and isnt used for billing purposes. One should deactivate the regular user accounts for which one doesn't want to be charged. As this customer is a client of the separate subsidiary Odoo REMOVED, they should consult with their account manager in REMOVED, REMOVED

I reject this response for the following reasons:

No refund offered. Odoo confirms I can deactivate users going forward but refuses to refund for the unused users I was already charged for.

The core issue is lack of transparency. When I created these test users, there was no warning or confirmation that my billing would increase. Other REMOVEDplatforms show a clear message like "Adding this user will cost $X/month. Proceed?"

Their own data proves non-usage. The "Active" column showed only 1 user actually used the system. I should not pay for accounts that were never used.

Deflection to account manager. I already contacted my account manager multiple times. He refused any refund. That is why I escalated to BBB.

I am requesting a refund of $22.40 for the 2 unused test accounts, or credit toward future billing.

      Sincerely,

      Hewida REMOVED

The user-based pricing model is well publicized and would have been agreed to when the customer initially signed up. Regardless, this customers account is managed by REMOVEDThis Better Business Bureau portal represents separate American subsidiaries in the REMOVEDas that is where the BBB is active. We do not have a role in the management of subsidiaries elsewhere in the world. As we do not manage the customers account, we recommend that the customer directly contact REMOVEDin REMOVED.

      Complaint: 24232352

I reject this response. Odoo is deflecting responsibility between subsidiaries rather than resolving a legitimate customer complaint.

      Key facts:
REMOVEDis a unified platform, I signed up through REMOVED, not a regional site.
I already contacted Odoo REMOVED, My account manager refused any refund. That's why I escalated to BBB.
The pricing transparency issue applies globally, No warning is shown when adding users that billing will increase.
This is a product issue, not a regional issue.

Odoo cannot advertise globally, charge customers globally, then refuse accountability by pointing to regional subsidiaries.

I request BBB keep this complaint on record as UNRESOLVED.

      Sincerely,
      Hewida REMOVED
