Terrible company to purchase from in ******** - DO NOT USE THEM!! They listed a home for sale, accepted our full price offer, and then we had the inspection. The house needed a new roof, it was so old that insurance companies would not insure it so obviously, it needed to be done prior to closing. We had to request a new closing date due to the roof needing to be replaced first. They agreed to the extension in writing multiple times for over a week but kept coming up with excuses as to why the "signer" was out and couldn't sign. They then came back and said they would not honor the extension but that we could try submitting a contract after a week if they couldn't sell it after re-listing it. They also advertised the home with AC and during the inspection we discovered there was no AC unit and they would not give us a big enough concession to cover the cost of a unit or install one prior to closing. They also would not cover any additional needs on the inspection report. They were very difficult to work with and unethical. TERRIBLE COMPANY!!!!Opendoor

We requested an offer from Opendoor for our house which was on market for a few months , their offer was outright ridiculous ,insulting and unreasonable and clearly has a motive of taking advantage of People in need , Too bad for them we are not that desperate . They assessed the home and came up with $4500 repair costs in name of repainting the house and general cleaning , but the fact that my house is freshly repainted and they wanted to charge $4500 for a freshly painted house is deceiving and laughable . Their Motives are not right and their staff lack any ability to properly assess a home . Do not sell your house to these guys , there are many cash buyers in market who do not insult your home like these guys do . And the Opendoor Expert they connect you with is not an expert by any means neither in the way they handle customers nor analyzing a fair Price for the home .Opendoor

Absolutely by far an overall dishonest process. Be sure to walk through with whoever Opendoor sends to your property. Remember it may be easier to own what you have than it is buy what you sale.Opendoor

I initially reached out to **** ***** and decided to give OpenDoor a chance. Everything seemed like a done dealthey even sent the real estate lockbox key to my home. Closing date was the end of the month. One of their representatives told me the final walkthrough was just to confirm the home matched the pictures and videos he had shown, not an inspection. He never mentioned that it would be used to assess further repair needs He was in the house for like 10 minutes. However, after a week and me telling them I needed the sells agreement to give to show proof that I was selling my home to buy a new home, that same representative emailed me and said they needed to withhold an additional $40K for repairs, even though theyd already deducted almost $20K for repairs and other costs I had agreed to. I have the email of him even saying how he was surprised this was happening and this has never happened before. Now, I'm seriously considering reaching out to an attorney or even the news to shed light on OpenDoor's questionable practices. It's becoming clearer why they faced legal action a few years ago.Opendoor

Do not buy a home from open door! They fix homes up to look nice but use cheap materials that do not last. I bought a home that was advertised as being fully remodeled , which I paid extra for, just to have paint peeling off the tub after 1st use. Came to find out the bathrooms werent remodeled but the tub and tiles were painted instead.Very disappointed with the updates and the whole process of delays that took place after contract was in place.Their delays caused the interest rate lock to expire and they refused to pay to have it lock back in. When I tried to back out from buying they threatened to keep my escrow deposit and charge me for a section of the roof that had to be repaired in order for insurance reasons. Stay away!Opendoor

We are neighbors to a house that was listed a few months ago on OpenDoor. After a weekend of hard rains and strong winds, a huge White Oak from our neighbors property listed with OpenDoor fell onto our property, puncturing our garage roof and creating a very messy situation with scattered limbs, etc.I called OpenDoor about the situation and their customer service from our very first intake call to **** ******** who managed the project locally has been amazing. **** even managed the various repair teams in such a way that our garage roof was inspected and repaired before the next rain, and he regularly checked in with us and clearly communicated next steps. I spoke with one tree specialist who made the offhand comment that in ** where we live, a tree falling onto your property is considered an act of God and therefore your responsibility. A good neighbor might pay to have it removed.Thank you for being a good neighbor, Open Door! Your strong customer service and quick response has left a very positive impression on our little cul-de-sac community.Opendoor

Extremely manipulative business practices. Unprofessional, no explanation or itemization at all of so called "costs of repairs. Simply a ridiculous number, with zero explanation of how this amount was reached or what items, repairs were supposedly included. Will never do business with this company again. Waste of taking a day off of my job. Disappointing.Opendoor

I had an awful experience assisting my client with a home for sale on OpenDoor. All communication was through ***** ******** License # *********. She was so unbelievably rude and unprofessional, that I had to file a complaint against her *********** License to the ********************************************* Regulations. How this woman became an agent or got hired by OpenDoor is completely unknown. Very poor representation of OpenDoor as a company.Opendoor

We just terminated our 3-week contract to purchase a house we really wanted. We will NEVER work with Opendoor again, avoiding them at all costs. The experience was so awful, with the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing. The "team members" were not at all versed in our 83-page inspection report and missed deadlines to let us know what they were willing to do to remedy health & safety issues. I will tell all home buyers or sellers to avoid OD like the plague.Opendoor
