The following describes a government action that has been resolved by either a settlement or a decision by a court or administrative agency. If the matter is being appealed, it will be noted below.
On September 16, 2024, Vora Wealth Management PLLC and Dharmesh Virendra Vora entered into an Order Instituting Administrative and Cease and Desist Proceedings, Making Findings, and Imposing Remedial Sanctions and a Cease and Desist Order with The Securities and Exchange Commission. The Order settles allegations that the business and Dharmesh Virendra Vora failed to have adequate disclosures of the equity linked notes for their clients, invested in equity linked notes that were unreasonable and unsuitable for their clients, received undisclosed compensation from a broker, and failed to implement or adopt relevant policies and procedures. Under terms of the Order the business and Dharmesh Virendra Vora were ordered to cease and desist from committing or causing any further violations or future violations, and jointly and severally pay $1,114,079 in disgorgement and $231,118 in prejudgment interest, and pay a civil penalty of $300,00. Under the terms of the order Dharmesh Virendra Vora has been barred from association with any broker, dealer, investment adviser, municipal securities dealer, municipal advisor, transfer agent, or nationally recognized statistical rating organization and is prohibited from serving or acting as an employee, officer, director, member of an advisory board, investment advisor or depositor of, principal underwriter for, a registered investment company or affiliated person of such investment adviser, depositor, or principal underwriter, with right to apply for reentry after 3 years. The Order was for settlement purposes only and should not be considered as an admission of guilt or finding of violation of the law.
