We met ************************* of Adorn Interiors to discuss and develop a plan for updating our master bath. We paid her consulting fee in full before our discussions began. She was consistently late whether meeting either at our home or in her office - at first we assumed she was very busy as the Covid quarantine had resulted in a solid flurry of construction in our area. As we worked further on our remodel/update plans we observed that she had difficulty in recalling the tile, plumbing fixtures, etc. that we had selected - she had never provided us with anything in writing or any drawings of our redesigned bath area. She insisted that we purchase any tile, fixtures, and paint from her sources only; in truth, we felt her selections were very limited in colors, textures, and functionality. We were constantly reminded when visiting her office that "All Sales Are Final!", "No Refunds Or Exchanges!", and that we must pay for everything (especially her "services") up front and in full - quite a difference from our previous dealings with any other contractors that we had used.When she FINALLY presented her invoice, my wife and I were taken aback at her loose generalizations in pricing - for example, she had no idea of actual costs for anything (although we had been restricted to her sources for fixtures when making our selections) so instead she provided "allowances" that were quite pricey indeed. We asked for more information such as the contractually promised "drawing sufficient to provide to the **************** for permit purposes" and a book of specifications for all fixtures and services needed to complete our job. She told us that she could work on getting these together while we thought further about our project.We decided that we did not feel comfortable working with ************************* so we sent her an email informing her that we were not going to move forward with our project at this time and we needed to get the detailed drawings and specifications book she was to provide for us.A lot of time passed - we started consulting with Adorn Interiors in April, 2021, while it is now October, 2021, and we still haven't received either the detailed drawings or the specification book that we had paid her $2,500 for. We called her office - she was never in - so we left messages with their receptionist. We sent several emails (that we confirmed were both received and opened by her or someone in her office) asking when we could expect to receive the documents and setting a deadline that seemed reasonable to us - no reply at all. We sent a letter by **** and also hand delivered the same letter to her office asking for our contractually promised documents - no reply by phone, mail, or email. I finally decided to visit her office in person to speak to someone in hopes of getting our paid-for documents - ******* was out, so I left a message and a copy of our contract deliverables with the receptionist; I was very clear that we were getting concerned that ******* was proving to be extremely evasive and non-responsive to us - not professional behavior by any definition.We definitely can NOT recommend Adorn Interiors for any proposed work. We have recently been in contact with the ******************************* in hopes that they can provide a suggestion as to how we should proceed.
