This company as a whole is the definition of Nepotism and the owner (himself) is the definition of Incompetent at its finest. 30 days of employment and here is the details. During the interview with the owner ***** he continuously boasted about his reputation in this small but growing community and sold me as to why i should work for his company so i took the job. FIRST DAY OF WORK, the owner ***** is drinking Vodka out of a pint bottle in his company vehicle then proceeds to get out of the vehicle and walk straight to a mini excavator and operate a heavy piece of machinery in a confined space with 3 other employees in that confined space. Come to find out the owner just got his 3rd DUI in 3 years and just got out of jail just prior to my employment. GREAT reputation right? I would get a phone call at 7am on the day of work to be told where to go, i show up to the owner drunk before 8am running heavy equipment then he leaves at 12pm to get more vodka then falls asleep in the truck drunk. This was EVERYDAY! ***** later ***** and i had a conversation on the phone and it led to me telling him i was going to file a formal complaint with OSHA and he fired me and also stated he was going to communicate with other asphalt company's in the area and prevent me from seeking employment elsewhere and it fact he did do that. I contacted 3 other local company's and 1 of the 3 confirmed they had spoken with *****. I was simply fired for no reason due to the fact that i spoke up for myself and expressed my concerns with Safety and time management and he took offence and felt threatened which in turn led me to being unemployed AND restricted form seeking further employment else where. This company is unsafe, incompetent, and a fraud. Seek employment else where! Do not waste your time.
