I live in ******* Township and just had my trash service switched. In this process I have learned that there was never a contract with Republic Services. How can you not have a contract but yet not be allowed to switch services. I have been informed by my local Township that they have been working on getting Republic out of our area for almost 2 years or more and only because of a consortium were they successful. Trash service with them was to end at the end of March, but they insisted we pay our next quarter bill and in speaking with ***** on 2-27-24 she informed us that we will receive a refund for $44.32 in approximately 2-4 weeks once they clear out accounts. Upon pickup of my trash containers I have now received a bill for $5.67, in which the invoice has credited my "refund" against a trash container pickup and now I owe additional money - if not paid by May 10th then an additional $29/per month late fee will be assessed.This is insane - first Republic is the WORST trash company around and now they are retaliating and charging for trash container pickup because they were finally pushed out. I want my refund they should not be allowed to do business like this!Republic Services Inc Response

Horrible service. Repeated phone calls to a number (call service I assume) not even around here to discontinue service after a huge jump in billing. I was assured that the local rep would be contacting us- no call. Called again after I was billed and again, told local rep would contact us and again no call. Yet another call and another billing (AFTER I REMOVED THE AUTOPAY) and still no call. Husband paid a visit to the local office and was assured we would have a call, the billing would not occur again and they would refund us 2 months that we have not had garbage in their dumpster. Asked for service to be cancelled in January and received another billing today. (April 22) Horrible, horrible customer service although they seem very nice and assure you that it will be taken care of nothing gets done. Would not recommend them to anyone.Republic Services Inc Response

Haven't picked up my yard waste container in over a month even after I call and speak to several representatives and submit a missed container pick up every week through the app. Ridiculous they can't figure this out. They can take my money though just fine.Republic Services Inc Response

Missed pick up numerous times, still charged. Called to cancel service and they charged $55 to pick up their own trash cans when you cancel service! Hidden disclosures. Terrible company.Republic Services Inc Response

They are the only disposal provider we can use in our area. They charge a full rate for service but don't pick up regularly. I don't understand how this keeps happening. Seems like a class action suit should happen in ****. ****** because what company can charge and not provide the service and get away with it? The county or city contracts with them but can't do anything about it because it's a private business providing a service to an individual. Republic Services engages in price gauging. Frequent and unannounced rate increases for garbage services that amount to over 960% more than the rate of inflation this year alone. They have only one "competitor" (Waste Management), because both business have purchased all local/regional garbage service businesses, effectively creating a duopoly to the detriment of all consumers of this service. These two business engage in price collusion (whether explicit or implicit) and non-competitive behavior... they make no effort to compete on price, service execution, quality, or customer care.Republic Services Inc Response

I called January 29, 2024 to cancel my account because they raised my cost over $200.00 in 1 month. They were charging me $800.00 a month. I spoke to ***** De ***** and she said they would cancel the account effective January 31st and would pick up the bins on the 31st. She gave me a cancellation number. So I ordered new service for half the cost. Now they said that the representative didn't say that my service was cancelled and my cancellation confirmation number # was not true. It was just a number saying i called. I have emailed my representative *********************** as i was told. With back and forth emails explaining that I was confirmed over the phone that my account was cancelled they refuse to stand by their representative that confirmed my cancellation. It is not my fault they there representative made a mistake and told me that my account was cancelled.They have not serviced me since January and they have not picked up the bins but they continue to bill me. I cannot believe how bad their customer service is. I continue to email and I receive notification that the emails are received. But no reply. Why is it so hard to cancel because their rates are out the roof.WORST COMPANY TO DEAL WITH. BEWARERepublic Services Inc Response

Had the worst experience ever working with republic services I have their service at my commercial office in ********** *****. They miss pickups , but charges me . When i call the manager , she don't pick up . when I repeatedly follow up, she responds back and says amount will be refunded . But money dont show up, i lost lot of money as i did not follow up back I was never able to login and view my account online . I raised many tickets, and reached to manager but no help Driver leaves the dumpster outside the enclosure and i end up moving it inside enclosure They charge me overage charges for 90$ even if trash is one inch over the dumpster and lid is little open they wont pick up trash if lid is fully open . so i had to go to location every week to make sure lid is closed they wont pick up the trash if its too heavy even if the lid is fully closed , as if owner has full control of what goes inside . there is no way any one can control how much a trash can weight worst part, is even after escalating at supervisor level, they assured of a site inspection and all issues resolved but none showed up as promised much worst part, every one in the call center agrees this is long standing issues and appologizes but they demand a termination fee to cancel the contract .they are making business owners sign the contract and trying to keep the owners live with this showing the termination fee . i will proceed with public works, attorney general office and every option for not paying the termination fees . no one should be locked in with a service when they failed to serve the needs just because there is a contract signedRepublic Services Inc Response

I cancelled service with this company because they couldn't clearly explain my bill to me. I asked what some fee was, and they said 10%. I asked 10% of what? They said just 10%. Then I asked how it fluctuated, because I wanted to know what total the 10% was based on. Never got answer. Also, when you submit a question online, it definitely seems like a robot answer who didn't actually read the question. The customer service is terrible, and trying to get real help on the website is a horrendous experience. It's like they to make it impossible to contact them via email or in person. It also looks like any reply from Republic Service on here is copy and paste as well.Republic Services Inc Response
