      Once again, Republic Services has failed to provide trash/garbage (and often recycling) service as per their contract. We have lived in the REMOVEDsince June of 2025 and the failure of the company to provide promised services (and services for which we paid) has been a consistent problem. Long time residents confirm that the problem has been on going. Republic often does not come on the assigned date and some times not at all. Picking up trash and recycling is their business, and they consistently fail at doing the contracted job. Failure to pick up recycling is an inconvenience; failure to pick up garbage is a health hazard. Previously, the company sent text messages citing a driver shortage or some other excuse and apologized for the inconvenience. Apologies are hollow after repeated problems; they mean nothing. This past week, we got no such apology so our garbage remains at the curb. Where should we put our garbage? Last week's service failure crossed the line. I am requesting a one-month refund for all of Sunflower's 187 residents.

      I am sorry to hear that your service has not been up to standard.  It is always our goal to service all of our customers to the highest standard possible.  It is true that this site has had issues with driver shortages this year in the northern Colorado market. Speaking with our sales representative who works with the Sunflower HOA leadership, this concern was brought up to him and we are not able to issue a large scale refund or credit because residents have individual accounts, some have not had issues, some have already requested or been issued credits, etc.

       

      If you would like to report a missed pickup or a credit for a missed service the quickest way to get in contact with us is at REMOVED.  We have an extremely limited group of personnel who have access to the BBB portal so my recommendation is always to contact us directly to solve your issues as they arise.  We appreciate your business and thank you for writing in.

      Up to standard? I believe your company is indeed "up to standard." Your BBB rating is "F." While your goal may be to achieve the highest standard possible, you consistently fail to achieve your goal.  REMOVEDjob (and the job  for which we all pay) is to pick up our trash once a week on schedule. We understand that an occasional issue will arise that prevents your company from doing its job on schedule. We accept that.  You must admit, however, that the issue arises much more than it should. Your job is to fix the driver shortage problem. We are now five days into having garbage sit at the end of the driveway. What should we do with our garbage? There are many elderly residents in the community who are simply not able to physically handle moving their trash can to the street. They are on walkers. I have assisted many of the. They are also not capable or willing to stand up for their rights. Your company will take their money, but you won't take their garbage.

      You issue individual bills to each of us and your company surely is capable of issuing individual credits toe ach of our accounts. This is not rocket science accounting.

       

      If I call REMOVED, I get a call center in REMOVED. The REMOVEDreported to me this morning that a truck was on our street (I saw it and so did several neighbors) She said that the truck was likely full and would return. Two or our neighbors called and reported seeing a truck, but the REMOVEDsaid there was not a truck on site. That was untrue.

      Therefore, I do not accept the company's shallow response.

All that any of the residents of REMOVEDare requesting is that Republic perform its service regularly and on time. That is their contracted job, and that is what we expect. An occasional glitch in performance can be tolerated, but consistent lack of performance is not acceptable.

      Republic was not who I had waste service with when I bought my home but they took over about 3 years ago. I have constantly had missed pickups. I seldom had 4 a month that I was paying for. When they would miss 3 I would call to get it emptied because it was full. Never was offered a credit. I came home from vacation last year and found it in front of my gate to park my rv in the yard so I had to push it in front of ally to get in. Called them to put it back in ally. Their driver does not like to pull in my ally to empty my dumpster so they put it in the street. I called them to cancel service in September. She told me I had to write an email (like me in person isn't enough) She offered 1 missed pickup credit ($15). Just 1. So Oct 1st I sent the cancel email. Thought we were done. I received a voice mail last week saying service was canceled due to non payment so I called Dec 10th. They told me they cant cancel a contract till it ends which was Nov 26. So I ask her do you not have a responsibility for the service on your contract? They broke it over and over for 3 years by not giving the service I paid for so I was tired of dealing with them. So they want me to pay for AUG to Nov. Aug was paid according to my bank on 21st. I changed banks in Sept so I missed getting auto pay moved. I will pay them last week of Sept till Oct 1st when I canceled service. I feel Im being held hostage by them and they will not admit responsibility or that they owe me more than I do them by far! I just want this over and cleared. I only ask for them to do the honest thing and not be crooks.

      I have commercial trash service with Republic Services for twice-weekly pickup at my restaurant in REMOVED. For the past two months they have repeatedly missed pickups (sometimes coming only once a month) but still charged the full service fee and extra overloading fees when the dumpster was full because they did not come.I am requesting immediate pickup of the overflowing trash and a full refund of all charges for missed service and all overloading/penalty fees that were caused by their failure to collect as scheduled.

      Customers location is not safe for our driver to service. This has been documented many times on the account. The customer needs to push the container out to the road for our driver to service safely.

      Republic Services had an internal labor dispute which stopped garbage, recycling and yard waste pickup service from July 9 to 20 of 2025. I was told there would be bill credits regarding this. Come to find out they only credited me $5.52. They claim that they had made garbage drop off locations available to customers and that was enough to charge us nearly the full amount.

      The idiots keep missing my trash pick up...I have to call. This week they missed both trash and recycle. They did finally pick up the trash but my recycle has been out there almost a week. the lid blew open and there are boxes and papers everywhere. I am disabled and cannot go and pick it up. It is supposed to be a free country but I am forced to use a service that everyone rates an F. How's that for living in a free country...PLEASE LET ME USE REMOVED!!!!!!!!

      At Republic Services, we strive to ensure that our customer experience is top-notch and meets our service standards. I have investigated the claim and do see that there was a missed collection that was entered into our call center. Our team has scheduled this collection and has rectified the situation as quickly as possible, within our contractual limits. Unfortunately, this service address is part of our exclusive contract with the municipality of REMOVED. While I understand the frustrations this resident may feel, this is a contract that was enacted within the governmental limits of the township. With that being stated, all payments are pre-negotiated based on contractual level and every resident is subjective to those fees, without refund. 

      While I cannot offer any refund for this, I can ensure that our team has worked diligently to ensure that we have collected the reported missed collection and will continue to ensure that we provide the services rendered within our contract.

      Trash was not picked up on scheduled date of Dec 5 2025. I have been unable to contact Republic Services for a resolution. Their contact information has been totally unsatisfactory.

      My garbage and yard waste service is provided by Republic Services in REMOVED. My complaint is with the companies policy on not refunding payment made for the yard waste portion of their business. I paid for yard waste service on August 2nd 2025 for the period of 8/1/2025 until 7/31/2026. I called to cancel service effective Dec 22nd 2025 due to we are moving out of the area. They informed me I would be re-imbursed for my garbage service but not for my yard waste. Their explanation was because it was billed on a yearly basis and couldn't be refunded. Their yard waster service runs from April thru November yearly. I contend that I received service for Aug thru Nov, 4 months, and cancelled service for April thru July, 4 months. Refund should be for half of my $216 dollar payment of $ 108. Not refunding for a portion of service due to moving is not proper regardless of policy.

      I attempted to cancel our HOA's trash account on 11/24/25 after deciding to switch providers. Republic Services attempted to retain our business, but when I moved forward with the cancellation, they have refused to send me the necessary paperwork to initiate the cancellation. They have a 30-day cancellation policy from the date of signature to cancel, but they won't send me the signature pages. Therefore, I am continuing to get billed and my cancellation date has not been enacted. I have phone records for a 15-minute call on 11/24/25, an email cancel request that I sent on 11/28/25 and another email cancel request that I sent on 12/5/25.

      First and foremost, please accept our sincere apologies for the delay in addressing this matter. The original email was mistakenly routed to our REMOVEDoffice, since the billing address is in their service area, rather than to the local team responsible for the actual service location. We deeply regret any inconvenience this may have caused.

      Per the customer's request, we attempted to contact her earlier today via email and voicemail after receiving this complaint to discuss the account closure process. Unfortunately, we were unable to reach her. Please be assured that we are committed to completing this request promptly. Our system only allows account closures on the last day of the month; therefore, we will process the closure effective December 31.

      To ensure a smooth transition, we will also waive the cart removal charges when we retrieve her seven carts. We truly value all prior business with Republic Services and appreciate her understanding throughout this process.

      I recently purchased a property in REMOVED, REMOVED, and chose to continue the previous owners' trash service with Republic Services. Upon contacting them to establish my account, the representative failed to disclose the full extent of mandatory quarterly fees, specifically the combined fuel and environmental fees, which totaled approximately $142 per quarter. This substantial financial commitment was not made clear during the sign-up process.Due to this lack of transparency regarding significant, mandatory charges, I immediately chose to cancel my service. I requested an effective stop date of December 1st for all services. Despite this cancellation, I have not received a bill adjustment. My current outstanding balance remains an inaccurate $418.59.Republic Services has been unresponsive and unhelpful in resolving this matter, consistently providing conflicting information and delaying a final resolution regarding the inaccurate billing.Due to this lack of transparency regarding significant, mandatory charges, I immediately chose to cancel my service.       Im trying to cancel my trash and recycling services at my two houses with Republic Services. I have called several times to cancel services, and they have put me on hold each time for long periods of time. There is no option to cancel my service on their website. They make it impossible to cancel service.
