1 starI put in a request for a plumber and waited 3 days for an appointment only to be told 20 minutes before my appointment that they couldnt make it. They offered to come in another 3 days. This was right before July 4th and I was going out of town. I couldnt leave an overflowing sink. I had already paid for the service call and will expect a refund. Had to call an emergency plumber to come for double the amount toOneGuard Home Warranties

1 starDeceptive practices. They offer the ability to renew policy online, do not give the ability to review or make changes to coverage, and do not add the same coverage options as selected the year prior.Review fromJeffrey H

1 starOneGuard sent a contractor to my home. He showed up 30 minutes prior to his scheduled window and when I was not there he said he was going to reschedule. I was frustrated and I told him they took a day off work. He was unsympathetic and said we're going to reschedule. We had words and then he marked me as a missed appointment all before my scheduled window began. OneGuard refuses to refund the money and says in order to get service I have to submit another $75 even though the front office changed it from a missed appointment to a transfer of service. One guard has no recourse for bad actors. This is the third instance of sending a contractor with either blatant misdiagnosis (which were later confirmed by vendors that I paid out of pocket for) or, in this case, missed appointment outside my scheduled window. They pass the buck and say a supervisor will call back but the never do.Review fromChris P

2 starsWe have been with One Guard since 2014. In that time, we have had multiple claims and have had no issues. This late spring/early summer however that has drastically changed. We have been without A/C in the upstairs portion of our home since May 16, 2025. I made a service request that same day. As it was a Friday, we had the service call the following Wednesday May 21, 2025. Since that service call, there has been no decision on remediation from One Guard. With each call and decision, there is a 48 business hour timeline for remediation. Even with the Memorial Day holiday, it has been 11 business days and we have no decision on a repair or replacement. Each time I call Customer ********************** (very friendly and helpful people with what they have access to), I receive conflicting information on when and how the contractor sent information to One Guard and the "status" of our claim. According to the contract terms (Section D.3), OneGuard is expected to make reasonable efforts to initiate service within 48 hours of a request. To "initiate service" is only the start. When are they contractually obligated to fix the issue? As far as I can tell, it is only when I call and a Customer ********************** representative kindly calls the contractor for me to inquire do I get any movement or new information. I have no indication in my conversations with them (multiple weekly) that the "approvals department" is doing anything to actively advance my claim. They seem to be passively waiting until things align according to whatever schedule they are on. I live in *****. It is late spring / early summer . . . over three weeks with no A/C for over half of our home is unacceptable.OneGuard Home Warranties

1 starI have had the same issue with my AC unit for the past 3 years, every time I place a service call a different company comes to inspect it. I live in ******** and have health issues. I received a call from a supervisor earlier today & I was told to place a service call and my account would be charged. I am not happy with their serviceOneGuard Home Warranties

1 starI have been with One Guard from the beginning of their start when they were Service One and had to change the name. Sense they were bought out by *** I have had nothing but problems. I have finally had it and have moved to another company. I won't name the other company, but I will never refer One Guard again.OneGuard Home Warranties

1 star10 year customer with **********************. Water heater started leaking. They assigned Vintage Plumbing who came out and diagnosed as tank rupture and need to replace water heater with a new one. OneGuard told me it would be $850 additional for "modifications". All materials are covered (except the drain pan), just the water lines, gas line, vent tube and drain line needed to be modified for the new water heater and new drain pan added. I used to work in construction when younger so I know quite a bit about this stuff. The water lines connecting the supply lines to the water heater are flex lines. No modifications needed. The gas line is a flex line. No modification needed. The vent tube is in good condition and does not need to be replaced or modified. I already bought a new drain pan for $18 that will work. The drain line is PVC and in my experience, easy to modify. The $850 is obviously a standard upcharge between OneGuard and Vintage Plumbing. Unknowing people probably just pay it thinking its justified. This is a typical scam designed to squeeze more $$ from people who don't know better. Car repair shops do this kind of scam all the time. ***** both of these companies. I will be switching to a more reputable warranty company soon. Vintage Plumbing should be ashamed of themselves trying to take advantage of people like this.OneGuard Home Warranties

1 starOneGuard is Good for nothing but Taking Your MONEY... We have had them for a couple of years and have found that they are not Dependable. Our last few home repairs we had trouble deciding if we should even call them. Then I just end up doing it myself. When a technician does come out, they do as little work as possible, or come up with some reason the work can't be done. Now I'm out of a service fee and I still have a problem that needs to be fixed. LUCKILY... My credit card on file had expired. Before uploading a new card I thought do I really need them???OneGuard Home Warranties

1 star*************. They deny claims for items that failed do to normal wear and tear and justify with the vague language from the contract that their representatives cannot explain. When they don't deny a claim, you're going to wait days and days between filing the claim and the repair actually happening.OneGuard Home Warranties

1 starI had a policy with OneGuard for a few years and we recently decided to not renew because we were honestly playing more with OneGuard than we could pay to local companies that would actually provide service to us. Trying to let OneGuard know that we no longer want a policy with them has been h*** There is no option online to cancel your policy, or to let them know you want to at least discuss cancelling. You have to call their general customer ********************** line and be on hold forever. I finally blocked my credit card so they couldnt charge me, which finally go their attention. When they called and emailed I told them I would not be renewing my policy, which on the phone they acknowledged. They still will not stop calling me or emailing me! It is seriously harassment at this point. Stay away from this company!OneGuard Home Warranties
