On 7/21/21 I took my van to have the front brakes checked. The van was pulling to the right when braking. **** told me the brakes were fine but I needed right & left upper & lower control arm bushings. Cost: $1400. I said I don't have that kind of money When I got there I discussed the brakes warranty given when Bell Road Automotive replaced the brakes 10/12/20, 3 years ***** miles. **** leaving **** told me the warranty had expired because I had driven the van ****** miles since the repair. I said "you're kidding me, I've driven the van ****** miles in 9 months? that's not right". He smirked at me as I was leaving. I felt like a fool. I got home, looked at the 10/12/2021 repair receipt and discovered the mileage was written incorrectly (I can prove the correct mileage). The license plate was incorrect and the vehicle serial number was incorrect. I had the bushings replaced elsewhere and I still have the brake issue. I want my warranty restored and brakes repaired or a refund.

My **** ****** Corolla recently failed emissions and I was put into the Voluntary Vehicle Repair Program to get my car fixed. So I took my car to Bell Road Automotive for the necessary repairs. That same day I received a quote to fix of $1,763.00 and I was told I need to have the carburetor rebuilt, a tune-up and a oil change. I was shocked by the very high price and when I asked if I could get the estimate in writing the technician refused. I could not understand how they came to nearly $1,800.00 for the 3 services they recommended. So they wanted $900 from me and another $900 from the state. Its a total double- dipping scam. Plus the fact that they refused to put anything in writing to show how those 3 services equal $1,763.00 is a HUGE red flag. I had my own mechanic work on the carburetor after I failed the 1st time and he changed the oil then. So I currently have less that 10 miles on the new oil change. The carburetor was rebuilt less that 3 years ago and I have a new distributor cap, wires and spark plugs all done 6 months ago. So, I do not believe the technician even pulled the dipstick on the car, because if he had, he would have seen the oil was clear. The whole experience was repulsive as if they thought I knew nothing about car repairs and how much they should cost. It is a **** ****** !!! A brand new carburetor cost $300. a oil change cost $40. and a tune-up, another $300. these are all high end ballpark estimates that do not even total $900 when you add the cost of labor. But since the maximum paid by the **************** is $900. they come up with this outrageous total to over inflate the price x 2 to take advantage of both the customer and the state program to double their revenue. Steer clear of this place. Unless you like over paying and being scammed. I reported this incident to the officials at the ***** the states attorney generals office and the better business bureau. Steer clear, buyer beware! You WILL pay more, much more!

**************, I do realize you understand what it takes to keep your **** Corolla running. When you brought it in for the **** program, our team took the time to inspect and diagnosis your vehicle based on it not passing the emissions testing. You felt the repair needed was the catalytic converter which was working correctly when tested. You stated the carburetor had been rebuilt three years ago which means there could be an issue with it now. You also stated that you recently had the oil changed and disagreed when we explained it needed to be changed again because we found fuel in the oil. Our technicians took hours to diagnosis your vehicle which you chose not to pay for because you did not believe what he found needed to be repaired or serviced. When you declined the **** program and what our technician diagnosed as the repairs needed for your vehicle to pass emissions there was no reason for us to take more time to create an estimate for you to take with you. This is why you were not given a written estimate based on the conversation there was no need for us to proceed.Im sorry you disagree with the items our technician found on your vehicle to get it through emissions and have you driving safely. It is our obligation to make sure each vehicle we see is fully inspected and diagnosed so that customers can make an educated decision about to proceed. We dont always have the information customers want to hear but we are honest. I hope you are able to find a shop that you are comfortable with and that can help get your vehicle through emissions. ****

Yet the question evaded, still remains. How does a carburetor rebuild, a tune-up and a oil change on a **** ****** Corolla 1.6L 4 cylinder engine costs $1,763.00 ? An exact amount with no explanation on how it adds up.
