Weve had our pool for almost a year and we feel its time to share what you can expect from this company. We received our quote, signed off on it and sent them the deposit for the install. Everything was perfect until they received their last payment. All of their guys worked hard and did a pretty good job till the plaster. Once the plaster was done, we filled it and had it checked. All was well. After the plaster was done, we had a rainstorm, and stained the new plaster. Since it was within the first 30 days, we had no pool equipment to clean it and was told not to do anything until the plaster set. We reached out to them and told them what happened, ****** came over and said just needed an acid wash. We were told on several different occasions that someone would be out to do this. It still hasnt been done even after several phone calls almost a year later. After the Plaster was set, we were informed that they installed a broken part on our pool system that had to be warrantied even though it NEVER worked in the first place. Instead of installing a part that actually worked, we had to wait almost 3 months for them to warranty it. When we built out our pool, we wanted to heat our pool and spa quickly and had no issue paying for 2 heaters. We were told what we had would be more than enough. It wasnt. The heater for our spa is too small. We also cannot heat both the spa and the pool. They told us we were out of luck. We reached out to Pentair, the maker of the equipment, and they told us we could daisy chain it no problem. ************ insisted this was impossible even after talking to *******. They also didnt install the auto pool fill up, we had to do that ourselves. They lost our pool permit and took 6 months to provide proof to our HOA so we could get our HOA Deposit back. Contract was signed in ****** **** Dig started in July, and Actually Working end of Dec/ Jan.

Mohave County Pools and Spas Response

    10/04/2023

This comment letter is in response to review left by ******************* on 9/27/2023

First and foremost, we must state that Mohave County Pools and spas did not have a signed agreement with *******************. In fact, when construction was originally set to begin in June 2022, Mohave County Pools and Spas was instructed to have no contact with ************ as there were personal issues between the two. Following this conversation, Mrs. **** set another appointment with our sales/design team to make changes and deductions from the original agreement signed in her name only. Construction began in August 2022 with a new agreement/contract without ************. Construction of the pool went according to plan and schedule. Pool interior finish was completed in October of 2022.

As for the plaster being stained after a rainstorm, this is not the fault of Mohave County Pools and Spas and no equipment to clean the pool was not the case. All new pools are provided with a maintenance kit. (pole, brush, plaster vacuum, hose, net etc.) Customers are instructed not to use the vacuum head provided for the first 30 days while plaster is curing. Brushing the plaster, however, is strongly encouraged and recommended for new plaster as much as possible in the first ************************************************************************* the water to be filtered out. Mohave County Pools does provide a 5 day start-up which a pool tech brushes and balances water chemistry during that time. After the first 5 days, The regular pool service is the responsibility of the customer. When **************************************************************** was notified of the staining, the customer was told that a no drain acid wash could be completed. Attempts have been made to schedule this to be done as well as some polishing that needed to be completed in a few areas of plaster.

The broken part being referred to was a motherboard in the computer control system for the poo/spa. Unfortunately, just like any warranty item, this did take time to be repaired/warrantied. Once a part is installed it is required by the manufacturer to be repaired by a warranty representative. The timeline which this took to be repaired was due to the computer parts being backordered through the manufacturer. (Covid)  This was out of the control of Mohave County Pools and spas.

The customer was never told that two heaters could not be installed. This is something that we have done on previous occasions. The customer was informed that even with an additional heater that the unrealistic expectations they had would not be achieved to heat the pool/spa. The average low temperatures were in the high 20 to low 30 degree range and the heaters will not heat the approximate ****** gallon pool in a short period of time. The heater that was sold to the customer is a 400k BTU gas heater, which is the largest residential heater manufactured and is generally more than sufficient to heat a pool and spa of this size under normal circumstances. The pool and the spa are able to be heated together as they are essentially one body of water. When the spa jets are in use the pump circulates water to and from the spa only. When the spa jets are not in use the water is circulated through both the pool and spa together. When the second heater was offered to the customer they stated that they did not have the funds available to purchase the heater at that time and that our price for the heater was absurd and he would purchase one on his own and have it installed by others.

The pool fill was installed and connected by Mohave County Pools and Spas. The additional water line for a future shower was capped by the customer as it was installed on the same feed line as the pool autofill.

The pool permit was not lost by Mohave County Pools. These permits are required by the building department to remain on site during all times when a project is under construction. The permit was either misplaced by the customer or blew away during a storm. The completion time of the final inspection was not because of this but because the customers gate was not built to pool code, which is the customers responsibility. Mohave County Pools and Spas was instructed that once the customer had built a separate gate/fence we would be notified and the inspection would be scheduled at that time. Immediately after being notified that the fence was completed the final inspection was scheduled and signed off with the building department.

Mrs. **** was very pleasant to work with throughout construction. ************, however, has made completing simple repairs and warranties hard. Again, MCP&S does not have a signed agreement with ************. MCP&S has made attempts and is still willing to make the minor repairs/adjustments to areas discussed and has had much trouble coordinating schedules to do so.
