On January 30th, 2022, I participated in an auction through Reata Pass Auctions (RPA). An item I was interested in was ************************************************** utilizes the services of ********, which allows auction participants to enter in a maximum bid for an item. This allows participants to set a maximum bid for an item. I placed a maximum bid of $1,800. The way the auctions works, techs monitor the present bid against the maximum bids. Floor bids are compared to ********* and the top bid wins. When the auctioneer started the auction, he said that if there was a question about bidding on an item, the he reserved the right to start bidding over on the item to resolve the dispute. When item 799a came up for bidding, the auctioneer proceeded with bids up to $375. Hearing no further bids, the auctioneer awarded the item to an onsite bidder. He said Sold and started to move. A tech raised a question indicating that there was an issue with the bid. The auctioneer, in direct conflict with the statement he had made earlier, told the technician that he was moving on. He awarded 799a to an onsite bidder for $375.00. I complained and heard back from the president who told me that there was nothing that they could or would do to resolve the problem. They then reported false data to ******** showing the maximum bid was for $2,000. This was not true maximum paid was $375. ******** was misled into believing that $2,000 was paid for the item. When I complained through ******** asking for their support in resolving this, they said that my bid was less than the amount of $2,000, so there was noting they could do.
