I have lived at the ************* for over 1.5 years with the same vehicle. I have never had a windshield replaced nor have I ever had a license plate change. Monday morning on 3/25/2024 I walked into the garage to go to work, only to find my vehicle gone. Due to the issues we have had with two of our own guests being towed, I had a feeling that is what transpired as I always lock my car and their was no evidence of broken glass to get into the vehicle. I came upstairs and contacted the towing company for the property and was told me vehicle was towed for improper identification (the hanging placard was not on my car mirror) that I was a resident at the apartment complex. I informed that I had a sticker bar code on my vehicle which was one way of identifying that I was a resident. Per emails from the company and lease agreement. They told me they couldn't see it and the pictures provided by the driver didn't show the sticker. I called back 3 times and was told to "shut up." I was hung up on each time. I finally spoke to a woman named ***** who helped me out and informed me that my vehicle in fact did have the proper sticker. She stated they would release the vehicle back to me free of charge. I asked for my vehicle to be towed back at no charge and no charges from the initial tow. They told me it was impossible to tow my vehicle back and if I didn't get it today I would be charged storage fees. I have no way on a Monday morning to get to my vehicle. I was told to "uber." I missed out an entire day of work as I work in **********,**. I contacted the police to file a stolen vehicle report as it was illegally towed with the proper documentation stating I was a resident. The apartment complex has tried to advocate for me and nothing is working. I quite literally cant get a ride ***** minutes to *************** for a vehicle that was wrongfully taken. They need to be fined and held to the standard.Initial Complaint

On 3/4/24 Axle Towing went to a lot and towed my car. The lot that my car was park is next door to a domestic shelter where I am residing. The office business that the lot is part of is aware that people from the shelter parks there and that they have no problems with us parking there. **** claims that someone there called about an abandoned car on there lot, I talked with the business owners and they all said that they did not call to have my car towed, I also call and talk to the owner of the business suites and the lot and he insured me that no one called to report an abandoned car and that also he doesnt use Axle Towing. I work everyday and every other weekend but on this particular weekend I didnt work. I called Axle Towing and they claim that they got a call about an abandoned car from someone from the lots businesses But again I talked with them and they all said no one called about an abandoned car and that they know and are ok with residents from the shelter parking there. After explaining all of this to Axle they changed their original asking price of $288 to $150.. I am positive that Axle Towing illegally towed my car and that they were just on the prowl to make some money. I very much will like my $150 back for the pain and suffering of having to beg people for money to get back my car that was Illegally towed in the first place.. Also I may add that the business lot has NO no parking sign anywhere on the property other than parking in a handicap zone, Axle tried to tell me that there are as another justification for them unlawfully taking my car.Initial Complaint

My pickup was impounded from my RV SITE. A site that I am two months ahead on the rent, and had permission to park. During the night, well after midnight, the towing company that patrols the area "AXLE TOWING AND IMPOUND" somehow entered my locked vehicle wrapped the seat belt around the steering wheel, and towed it to their impound yard.AXLE TOWING AND IMPOUND left nothing indicating what happened. When I went outside to go to work in the morning I naturally thought it had been stolen.I called the ****************** who transferred me to the sheriff's office. The deputy checked it out and informed me of my properties location.First of all I would like to make note that the woman that I interacted with in this formal complaint was professional and courteous. However the man in the office directly behind her, ended up being the opposite of that.I asked who from BrightHaven "the rv site",called to have my pickup towed. She said "*****, we patrol that area.I then asked why my truck was impounded and the two other trucks parked identically to mine weren't. She said sometimes there's an emergency call and the have to go there. I asked if they had an emergency, she said no. Then informed me that BrightHaven called earlier that morning and said it was OK to park there. I said that didn't think I should have to pay a fine because I had done nothing wrong.I don't have enough characters remaining here for everything that the man yelled at me when she relayed that sentence. He offered to lower the ****** from 285 to 200.He yelled obscenities and threats towards me when I stated that I was parked where I was supposed to and shouldn't have to pay anything.I lost $200, $12.95 for LYFT, and a day's wages for no reason except for the predatory actions of AXLE TOWING AND IMPOUNDS.The term "predatory" is not my word, it was used by both manager and maintenance of the rv site BrightHaven.Initial Complaint

This company was hired by ****************************************** Apartments to troll the parking lot at night and try and find Cars where the Registration may have lapsed recently and tow them. Not cars of non residents illegally parked or anything like that. ****************************************** hires them and gives them free rein to do that to residents who already pay too much rent and are nickeled and dimed to death. So Axle Towing sends their vultures to troll residents who are paying to park a car there and tow it in the middle of the night. Leave you not knowing where the vehicle is and without any contact with the resident before hand. I had an old work truck. A **** **** F 150 that I took to register. I took it to the ridiculous emissions test 4 times. It didnt fail, but it would read Not Ready each time. I called an emissions mechanic find what was wrong. Took it back to emissions. Again, Not Ready. The Registration lapsed. I was going out of town for a month. I parked the truck in my assigned spot. Told the office the situation and I would address it when I came back. I come back and its been towed. Now Axle Towing wants $285.00 to release it. I refuse to pay this company for seizing upon this opportunity to milk $285.00 out of me. What a low life stunt. I also blame ****************************************** Apartments for treating an honest on time paying resident in this manner. Very bad treatment from a landlord. I would never refer them to anyone.
