If I could leave 0 stars I would. The emotional stress and financial strain we have been through with this bank has been devastating. We started in early February building a home, something my husband and I have dreamed of doing for many years. We applied for a construction loan with Bank OZK in Cumming, GA in early February. We were going to be using funds to start the process of building from our previous home sale. We fill out the paperwork, submit it and all requested documents. The bank ran our credit, we e-signed some paperwork and were told, you are good to go. The loan looks good and should be processed soon. Unbeknownst to our surprise we receive an email around early April from Bank OZK. The email baffled us, as it was enquiring if we wanted to proceed with our loan. Apparently, the previous employee retired or left, and She would be taking over her loans. She stated there were some documents missing and she wanted to make sure we were still interested in perusing our construction loan. What? Is this a joke? Yes, of course we are. We thought the loan had already been submitted. We sign some additional documents, send in all the same documentation that was sent in the first time and unknowingly they run our credit again. So, we wait and then come June we are getting inpatient. We started emailing and calling. Emails are answered with, we are working on it, should be any day, etc. Phone calls are answered with silence. Then July rolls around and we are informed that the title order company that they use no longer does construction loans and they were unaware of this. They had to find another company to obtain the title order. More emails and weeks go by with still no definitive answers. Moving into August, now going on 7 months. We are asked to provide drivers licenses, and lien waivers from venders that we have already paid. Still waiting on a loan! We currently have an account and my husband’s company has a commercial account. We are devastated!

The Bank received the client’s loan application on March 6, 2024; it was approved on April 5, 2024 with stipulations. The client then requested an increased loan amount on April 10, 2024 and this was approved on April 18, 2024 with additional stipulations. Certain actions (e.g., ordering the appraisal) were delayed until the client executed the Intent to Proceed on May 17, 2024. The process was further delayed by a discrepancy on the property title. Additionally, the initial credit pull expired, requiring pulling credit again. All required documentation was received by August 14, 2024. The Bank is expecting the loan to close next week.

This is absolutely the worst bank. I was interested in their 5.99% APR promo for a line of credit. I consulted with one of their loan officers and was told that there would be no issues to use this line to purchase a home, of course if there's an early payoff then there would be fees. I politely obliged and submitted a loan application. They collected all of my personal information and documents and later declined me saying that I can not use this line of credit to purchase a house, and the loan officers literally told me that they just changed their rules (2 weeks after my application)! I asked my loan officer to speak to their manager to see if we can work something out and was lied to and given the runaround and later my loan officer refused to answer my email requests that a manager contact me. This bank and their offers are a SCAM! BankOZK, if you want to make this right, contact me! Your loan officers are uneducated about the products that they offer! If I can help at least 1 poor soul not make the same mistake that I did by trying to do business with you, then my job here is done.

The client applied via telephone for a Home Equity Line of Credit (“HELOC”) with a special introductory rate. The application was denied due to the intended loan purpose. The Bank listened to the recorded call and determined that the agent failed to explain that the loan purpose did not meet the requirements for the special introductory rate and did not provide information on the short-term HELOC product that does allow for the client’s intended purpose. For these reasons, the file has been reviewed for an exception to the product requirements. The Bank mailed a letter and a counteroffer via the United States Postal Service on August 14, 2024 with instructions to contact the Bank to proceed.

I do not know how you can "mess up" a direct deposit but bank OZK manages to mess it up every time we have a large deposit. We had 2 separate deposits from the same company on the same day and time, the small one came through with no problem but the large sum still has not hit my account. I have received the check stubs stating both were submitted at the same time and verified by the company I work for and the third party payroll service the company uses. The other employees have been compensated as well, So bank OZK is clearly the problem! As soon as they decide to give me my funds I will be changing banks! Do NOT use Bank OZK!

The client received two direct deposits from the same company on the day in question. The Company sent the deposits in two separate files. The Bank received the smaller amount in the morning and the larger amount in the evening. Both deposits were credited to the client's account on the date received.

Love my local branch and the people that work there, but beyond that OZK is sloppy, unresponsive, takes multiple days for them to figure out their own wire format, fail to give customers all the information they need to use their website. If the business I work for had any other option for a bank, OZK would be out on the curb in a heartbeat.
PS-get ready to deal with fraud almost weekly. Embarrassing!

The Complainant and business partner experienced difficulties with sending a domestic wire transfer and accessing business online banking. They were initially provided incorrect information from Bank personnel, but subsequently were assisted with both issues. The wire transfer was completed within the same day, and they were able to successfully log into the online banking platform.

Phone Customer Service is horrible. Attitudes and generic responses with no real insight. As long as you don't have questions or need info, you're good. Don't expect assistance unless you know someone at a branch.

The Bank reviewed two recorded telephone calls from the client on the day in question. The client spoke with a call agent regarding an issue with online banking for which the agent provided accurate information and resolved the issue. A different agent fielded a second call regarding a question involving mobile banking and provided accurate information. The client appeared satisfied with the interactions and assistance given during both calls.

As the other reviews say, take your money else where. Bank ozk is horrible. Had a fraudulent charge on my account which overdrafted it. notified the bank, they disputed it and my money was returned. Upon return, I was charged a 35 dollar overdraft fee, re-overdrafting my account. When I got payed, and deposited, the fraudulent charge was ran again, and I'm currently out the money again, with absolutely no help from bank ozk. I'll be starting an account somewhere else, I suggest you do the same.

The customer contacted the Bank to report an unauthorized item on his account and the agent failed to submit a dispute. There were not sufficient funds in the account which caused the ACH transaction to be returned and an NSF fee was charged. The item attempted to hit the account again on July 28, 2023, and the customer contacted the Bank. Branch personnel filed a dispute, placed a Stop Payment, and the NSF and Stop Payment fees were refunded.

This bank is a joke. I had fraud in my account and reported it and filed a police report, after 15 years of doing business with this joke of a bank they closed down all my accounts because of fraud that I did not have anything to do with.
TAKE YOUR MONEY OUT OF THIS BANK, they are a joke of a bank.

BEWARE OF BANK OZK! TAKE YOUR MONEY SOMEWHERE ELSE!
I had $8000 stolen from my hacked checking/debit card account!
OZK said "NO" to replacing my lost money due to a little known "REGULATION E" which they used to hide behind! They are not members of the BBB and apparently there is a reason for that...PLEASE DO NOT USE BANK OZK!
I filed a Small Claims Court suit against them to help offset my loss (up to $5000) and they had the case transferred transferred to Civil Court where I would need to throw good money after bad hiring an attorney to represent me! Pure BS move but legal in the State of Arkansas!
I AM NOW CONSIDERING ORGANIZING A PICKET LINE PROTESTING (if I can get enough support to expose their shady tactics) AND SHINE A LIGHT ON THEIR QUESTIONABLE POLICIES AND ACTIONS!
ALSO AM CONSIDERING SENDING OUT A PRESS RELEASE TO ARKANSAS STATEWIDE MEDIA WITH THE HOPE OF EDUCATING THE GENERAL PUBLIC OF THEIR LESS THAN HONEST PRACTICES!
"REGULATION E" WAS PART OF THE DODD-FRANK ACT IN THE LATE 70'S AND SUPPOSEDLY DESIGNED FOR CONSUMER PROTECTION! IT NEEDS TO BE REVISITED BY CONGRESS BUT DOUBT SERIOUSLY THAT WILL HAPPEN UNDER THE CURRENT ADMINISTRATION!
      BANK OZK IS BAD NEWS!

      The
CFPB’s Regulation E implements the Electronic Fund Transfer Act which became
effective in 1978.  The regulation requires the Bank to provide the
Electronic Fund Transfer Disclosure to consumers at the time of deposit account
opening.  The disclosure describes the responsibilities and liabilities of
the bank and the consumer for unauthorized transactions, as they are
established by the regulation.  Consumers must provide timely notification
to their banks of unauthorized electronic transactions and of lost or stolen
access devices (debit cards).  It is the depositor’s responsibility to
review their account statements and report unauthorized transactions to the
Bank in a timely manner.  The Bank maintains the reimbursement provided to
the complainant is in accordance with the regulation.  Further, the Bank
does not provide comment about ongoing litigation.
