We had a negative experience with this company and would not recommend them to anyone!Potential customers need to know that the owner of this company, *************************, also owns and operates a business entity that goes by the name of "Roofer Near Me" in addition to sometimes using just the shortened name of "J&J Services" and I have also seen them recently advertised on ****** using the name "J&J Services Roofing and Renovations". If I had realized all this before hiring them, I would never have hired them. It all just seems like such a hot mess! Professionals don't do this kind of thing. Pick ONE name and build a reputable brand. I am leaving my reviews on multiple platforms because I think it's important that other potential customers know all of this, so they can decide if they want to take the risk that I did on a business with "good ****** reviews" that just don't pan out for everyone. I regret my decision of hiring them and hope my review will spare at least one other person the grief that we dealt with for the last 4 months or so (half of which was just waiting for them to get started on the job, which they initially quoted at a 2 to 3 week start time, but that was WAY off, and also held up other jobs we had lined up). As a customer, you can tell when people are genuine and when they care about the quality of their service, this simply wasn't that experience for me.

We have been in the construction industry for approximately 26 years, specializing in different fields.Most recently, 2013, we opened as J&J Services. J&J Services was a sole proprietorship, owned and operated by *****************************. We have since changed over to an LLC as of 2023. We now operate as a parent company, J&J Construction and Roofing, LLC. We ****et under Roofer Near Me as a DBA. it is more search friendly and easier to remember in general.As the swap over is still somewhat new, you may still hear or come into contact with remnants of our former sole prop. Again, we apologize if it was somewhat confusing, per our conversations it sounded as if you had already looked into us Im certain, any of our guys would have been happy to clear things up though if asked.We do feel terrible though that your experience with our services was not as stellar as so many others have had. However, we are a ***************** not only because we prevent a lot of issues from happening in the first place but because when they do happen we take care of it. We have capable personnel on hand that can assess problems and get them corrected even if its at the companys expense. We pay our people well, we dont attempt to cut corners, we use quality material, we meet and exceed code for the work being performed. We expect the work being performed by our people to be professional and well above just average work. Construction is of course a volatile industry; you can have a great team of guys one month and... well a less than great team the next (even with proper alleged qualifications). However, as long as your core people are there checking the work and overseeing the project properly, any mistakes will get worked out, corrected and the end product being one that every customer expects. Admittedly, your project did get off to a rocky ****** We have to own up to that. Our guys used some bricks as filler (a common practice) that they, however, were not supposed to use and honestly had no business even touching. We were just as confused as you were by what they were thinking. You dont use that older style brick as filler; we had even purchased the extra material to fill up cavities without the use of filler. And we did replace all those bricks, correct!We were actually quite happy that your husband, who has experience in the construction industry, discovered what was happening right at the start even before our QC team got there. If there is an issue, you want to correct it at the start not halfway through the project. The issue with the start date, we also have to apologize for. Not sure where the 3-week start time came in. The tech that initiated your ticket may have actually thought he could have you started in 3 weeks and may have said that verbally. Its possible, he is very knowledgeable but had only just joined us about the same time he was talking with you and may not have fully understood the actual queue period. Currently, we have a lead time of about 6 weeks. It appears you made a down payment on Jan 30 and we started gearing up for your project around 3/8. That would have been around the 5-week ***** However, looks like there was a hiccup with a string of bad weather and the materials. The materials were instead dropped on 3/24 & 3/25. That would have been about 8 weeks to start rather than the normal 6 counting the weekly rainstorms and holiday season that fell within that time frame. The project lasted from 3/27 to 4/11 a 16-day project. We admittedly missed the **** on your time frame a lot from what may have been a verbal mistake, but not by an unacceptable amount for the current average considering the extra delays. We do apologize that our lead times are substantial and that it may not have been accurately communicated to you up front.As for being able to tell when people are genuine and care about the quality of workmanship I believe the owner of J&J Construction and Roofing, LLC came out to lend a hand, QC, and help realize the desires of you and your husband personally during this historic home renovation. If this is not a genuine show of care and concern then I am left wondering what would be.Of course, if there is anything you need to communicate or feel that we could do better please let us know at the office or by phone ************.We have already had a good chat with this construction crew on your behalf they have done some excellent work for us on several occasions, but there will need to be some improvements and measurable assurances before we entrust them with another project.We are a ***************** and we have certain expectations from those that work for us just as our Customers have certain expectations when hiring a *****************.
