I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

    Sincerely,

***************************d the claim. July 27, 2023 we called J&J construction and asked them to send us a quote. We were told that they would not send a quote until they review the estimate from the insurance company. At this time we contacted two other roofers that came out and had a quote to us within 2 days. We decided to go with one of the companies that sent the quote as requested so that we knew exactly what we would be getting and the cost involved. We never heard back from j&j construction until the day after our new roof was finished and they sent an email with an invoice for $500 for a "deposit". I emailed them to let them know that we had went with another roofer. I received and email back that was extremely rude stating that "I was trying to play contractor", and I needed to pay the invoice because I called them to come look at my roof in the first place. I never called this company to come out and look at my roof, they just showed up. I now have received an email once a week with an invoice.

    ***************************,

We at J&J Construction and Roofing, LLC are saddened that you feel your experience with us was unsatisfactory. We also feel as if it was born from a misunderstanding.

We were happy to perform your roof inspection for free & with no obligation. However, our teams are not in the habit of filing frivolous claims had there been no damage we would not have helped you file a claim. Reviewing pictures of your roof the damage was more subtle than simple outright damage that couldnt be missed this is what our staff was referring to.

This is also why your Claim was approved - opposed to being denied.

While the roof inspection came with no obligation the Service Agreement you agreed to and signed, which allowed us to start the claim process by becoming your designated contractor, did come with obligations.

    * Upon the being approved and funded by the third party, the Property Owner and Company shall enter into a formal building contract to begin repairs for the approved price as payed by the third party

    Scope of ******************* Scope

    Concerning Estimate:
Upon Filing a claim and the insurance sends out an adjuster, this adjuster will determine the extent of the damage if present and how much they are authorized to pay for the repairs. These adjuster quotes are produced on industry standardized software and based on a median costs per region.

It is our job as your Chosen (Designated) Contractor to work on your behalf. The adjuster may be on your side but ultimately, they work for the insurance provider, while We Work for You. We will review the quote by the insurance provider and make sure it adequately reflects the damage to your home and the costs of repair. We will negotiate on your behalf to have the areas in question repaired for an approved sum and then coordinate the various trades it will take to make the approved repairs within our given budget. We also document all repairs along with the materials and the process of installation to eliminate any deniability of future claims or material warranties. We also provide our own workmanship warranty. These quotes are detailed and itemized down to every nail you would know exactly what services and the exact materials that would be used on your home.

We have a team of professionals and systems in place to protect you, your property, and provide an installation that you can trust and depend upon years after service has been provided. These teams began working on your behalf after you signed the Service Agreement and that is why the invoice for $500 was sent to you. It was sent after your claim was approved and then subsequently notifying us that you were going to use a different contractor for ************.

Be certain that time, labor, and yes money was used on your behalf to produce the insurance claim result you now have the invoice you have is a reflection of those costs after you broke your Service Agreement.

I will apologize, however, for your receiving that invoice multiple times. We honestly had already written that invoice off as a loss, but our system sent it out two more times automatically Had you called our office Im certain it would have been handled as it now has been you shouldnt receive any more notifications. We really would have liked to work with and ensure that your home received the best possible service it saddens us that we were not able to. We wish you the best of luck and hope you dont need remedial services down the road truly.
