Old Republic Home Protection (ORHP) sent Urgent Care Plumbing, LLC (UCP) to my home to repair or replace my Aqua Systems, Smart Choice Water Softener/Conditioning System that had started leaking on February 11, 2021. On February 19, 2021 ORHP sent work order number XXXX-XXXX to UCP. The work order states, the service requested repair was "Plumbing/Water Softener." Instead of replacing my water softener with another water softener/conditioning system as requested by myself and ORHP, UCP replaced the system with a Halo 5 Water Filtration System. This system is not a water softener. UCP installed the Halo 5 Water Filtration System on two days April 11 and 12 of this year at a cost from me of $3825.00 and an additional $500.00 coverage from ORHP for a grand total of $4325.00. I contacted UCP on April 19, when I found out that the system installed, Halo 5 was not a water softener. ****** stated he was unware the Halo 5 was not a water softener and that he would call me the following day April 20 but when he did not contact me on the 20th I call ORHP, and made them aware as well that a mistake had been made. ORHP has given me my coverage allowed amount of $500.00 as I did not receive the Water Softener and they could not get UCP to correct their error. UCP has not made any effort to fix this issue with a comparable system. I have not cashed this settlement from ORHP, as to me this is not settled with UCP. The estimate sent to ORHP shows the system he used cost $3600.00 and I want that sent to me as a refund. I sent to both companies on September 15, and UCP has not responded. The Halo 5 system was not in anyway chosen by myself as a replacement. This is what UCP installed and he told myself and my husband that this system was a water softener. He lied or made a mistake and is not willing to fix it on his own; either way I did not receive the $3600.00 water softener I paid for. I have exhausted all other means for resolution.
