My experience with Midas was horrible. I was cheated, mistreated and disrespected. I do not know what they did to my car. March 8, 2023, I took my car to Midas in ******, ** (*****************************************************************************), for brakes. I did not have an appointment. The brakes were $$563.85. March 23, 2023 (15 days later), my brake light came on and I did not have any brakes. I took my car back to Midas, immediately. I tried to explain what was happening when I applied the brakes. The manager stated that I needed an appointment. I asked if someone could check my car to see if it was safe to drive. The manager stated that he did not have a mechanic to check my car. He stated that the car will be fine as long as I do not drive a long distance. I was given an appointment for March 24, 2023, at 8:00 AM. May 24, 2023, I was told that I needed to have the brake line replaced. The total cost would be $978.23 (parts $234.97 and labor $655.94). The manager stated that after replacing the brake line, they will drive the car to see if the transmission was causing the brake line problem. He stated that it was too dangerous to drive the car, prior to having the brake line replaced. He stated that if it was the transmission, he did not know how much it would cost; he will tell me later. I told him to take my car off the rack. The manager tried to force me to sign a blank document. He stated that if I did not sign the document, he could not give me my key. I told him to keep the key. When I was leaving with my extra key, he ran outside and gave me my key. I sent a certified letter to Midas President and CEO and a copy to the Better Business Bureau. To this date, I have not received a response from the President and CEO. The Better Business Bureau has not received a response from Midas, after several attempts. After my bad experience, I read the bad Midas rating. I understand the bad rating. I would give Midas a zero, if that was an option. Do not take your car to Midas in ******, **.
