On December 9,2023 I went to City Gear to purchase the Jordans my child and niece won through a raffle. The information stated to bring a valid government id. My child is in high school and does not have a license. I presented a ss card / birth certificate, a picture of his school id and it wasnt enough. My niece had covid and couldnt pick up her shoes in person. I had her raffle information and drivers license in my hand and the manager told me no I couldnt get the shoes that she had to be there in person. His attitude was very nasty and he wouldnt listen to anyone or try to be understanding towards anyone. The raffle rules state, if the participants picks a designated person to pick up , that designated person must have a id in the participants name. I had my niece id with me and he told me its not acceptable and she had to be there in person. He would not allow me to get the shoes at all. Its one thing to be rude but rude and wrong with a horrible attitude as a manager representing a company is awful!! When I ask what would happen to the shoes. He stated they would be raffled off again to someone else and we could try back at 2pm to see what sizes were left. The disappointment in these kids faces were heartbreaking due to the grinch. The rules also state, City gear can accept other forms of id in its sole discretion . The manager denied every other form of id and violated company rules. I shop with Hibbett every week buying Jordans and this was the first time I ever had a bad experience. The raffle doesnt mean you get a free shoe. Were still spending our hard earned money on the shoe.
