On December 24, 2022, we had a house fire in the attic of our home at **************************************************************. Davis Unlimited LLC (*******************************************************) submitted a bid and was awarded the remediation work. This included removing an engineered hardwood floor that was glued down over concrete. Once the floor was removed, the glue had to be removed. They used a product called Twin-Chem ADR (manufacturers safety sheet attached). This product is very safe if used according to the manufacturers instructions. Unfortunately, Davis Unlimited LLC did not follow those instructions. The first mistake they made was not reading those instructions. If they had, there is a warning that this product is to be used outdoors or in a well-ventilated area. The second mistake they made is the product is to be left on the concrete floor for ***** minutes. They left the product on my concrete floor for about a week and left my home closed with no ventilation. The third mistake was applying too much of the Twin-Chem to my concrete floor. There were puddles on my floor. The fourth mistake they made; their fire remediation expert, *********************, failed to notify his employees, my family, or any other contractors scheduled to do work on my home, that this product is an eye and respiratory irritant, and safety gear is required (safety goggles, long sleeves, long pants, and a respirator.) He also texted me that he had spoken to the manufacturer of Twin-Chem and was told the product was safe to use indoors. I called the manufacturer and spoke to *****, the owner of Twin-Chem, and he told me that no one there had ever spoken to anyone at Davis Unlimited LLC.I had a meeting at my home with the owners of Davis Unlimited LLC on 4/14/2023. It was attended by myself, ***** Davis, and his partner whom I have never met or spoken to. After the meeting, on my way home, I received a call from the partner I had never met or spoken to. He was quite rude, telling me he was going to get his money one way or the other and that he was going to put a lien on my home.My wife has respiratory issues (on Albuterol and breathing machine). I made them aware of this before they began work on my home. This has caused her much anxiety and frustration. She fears now that we will not be able to move back in our home.This has left my home uninhabitable and unsafe for 7 weeks. The irritant is so strong that I cannot go home. Our contractors cannot do their work as the home is unsafe to be in. We have a limited time that our insurance will cover our expenses and we need this issue resolved ASAP.
