I believed I was calling Expedia Support, but the number I got from the web was for EXP trip. While on the phone they canceled a trip I had planned though Expedia, (I am not sure how they got access into my Expedia account) they then said they could rebook it with the addition of a fee of $3,000 as well as provide a refund for the cancelled trip (the refund has not been received from them). As the original poster wrote, it was all high pressure etc. After many calls with Expedia I realized I had been scammed and I disputed the charge with my credit card for the $3,000.46 and was successful. Now that the Credit Card company is trying to recoup the charge off, I have started getting emails from the scammers saying I need to settle the dispute. They have not threatened legal action yet, but I am sure it is coming. Fortunately, I was able to get refunds for the cancelled trip from Expedia and American Airlines even though the trip was non refundable. I did file a complaint with the BBB when this occurred, and since I found another victim, I felt I needed to add this to it.
