A recruiter contacted me by text regarding a remote job & referred me to my mentor for the position. I trained on optimizing merchant rankings thru the Chainlink PPC workbench platform. It was digital, completed on a phone or computer. It involved various merchants purchasing brand boosting services, and I received commissions per completed task. They also offered salary payments based on continuity of days worked completing required tasks. Occasionally, a combination purchase (from a merchant) would exceed the account balance, but if I covered the shortage, then commissions on the combo task were 10 times greater than usual. I only encountered 2 or 3 of these combo orders causing a negative balance in a 4-day period, and the dollar amounts to resolve the shortage ranged from about $20 to $250. Then, the related commissions jumped considerably, which made topping off the deficit more than worthwhile. On the 5th day, I was offered the opportunity to participate in an anniversary event requiring a minimum starting balance of $3,000 (of my money), and included 3 starting bonuses of $600 each, plus the regular task completion commissions and salary. I was almost done with all 3 sets of required tasks when my account was hit with a huge combo order creating a deficit of over $5500 (a much larger amount than I was aware could occur). This meant that I had to pay this shortage in crypto currency in order to finish the last set of tasks and collect my principal starting balance, as well as the commissions, bonuses and salary dollars earned. My mentor had indicated that she would assist me financially if I ran across a large order like this, but when it happened, she said she had spent the money that she was going to use for this purpose. Eventually, she agreed to contribute only $800 to help me, but would not provide this contribution until I somehow raised the balance of the $5500+. I don't have this amount of money available, and was not aware until it happened that if I could not pay this completely random fee that I would lose everything -- my $3,000+ starting balance as well as all of the bonuses, commissions, and salary earned along the way which was another several thousand dollars. The Chainlink PPC Customer Service rep went so far as to indicate that if I couldn't come up with the money to complete the tasks, and the situation seriously affected the interests of the merchant, their legal department would sue me. If I lost the case, I would be responsible for compensating the merchant for the loss, and I would face 2-3 years in prison! So, I was not only devastated over the financial losses, the Customer Service rep terrified me!
