I received a phone call from an Atlanta number, ###-###-#### with the possible name of ***** ****** I thought it was a debt collector. I could tell it was computer prompted. I told her I couldn’t talk and was on my way to a meeting. She quickly transferred me to a woman who may have been from another country. I also told her I couldn’t talk and she said she could help me reduce my debt. She then asked me a lot questions, approximate amount I owed, how many cards I had, what kind they were, what state I lived in and my credit rating. She said she could definitely help me lower my debt substantially. I asked her what company she was from and her name. She said *** from Selfdebt. She said she needed to run a credit report at no cost to me to get my actual credit score (at no cost to me of course) and that she needed my email address to send the plan options to, which I gave her. She then asked me my date of birth, I almost gave it to her when it hit me, this is a scam. I then told her I was at my meeting and had to go. She asked me a good time to call, and I gave her a time. She then said I’ll text you my phone number and you can call me tomorrow. She then texted me her name and a phone number to call. The number she texted me from and gave me to call back was ###-###-####. I did not call this number. Reminder to self not to answer calls from numbers you don’t recognize!
