Called what I thought was Expedia because their phone number for customer service is difficult to find the person on the other line had given me a one time code. They emailed me after I gave them my email and asked for the code number, I gave them the number of code that was sent to me The person who sounded like they’re from India and said they were reaching out to the hotel to see if they would cancel my reservation. .They said the reservation was nonrefundable, but they will call the hotel. Put me on hold for a few minutes, then got back and said that I will not get my money back and in order to cancel my reservations, I would have to pay an extra hundred dollars then asked for card information I said absolutely not. Then I called the hotel to see if Expedia had reached out to them. They said they had not, the hotel then did cancel my reservations and they reached out to what I assume is the real Expedia, who then canceled my reservations. I believe this was a scam in order to get card information which they did ask me for and I denied. I have not seen any money missing out of my account as of yet, that being said I will be checking for any fishing.
