I was given a product support number listed by a well known technology manufacturer (ABB) for an inquiry I had about one of their product groups contact information. The reported toll-free number ended up being an automated Jessica session that proclaimed a chance to obtain a free wearable medical alert device. It then asked to press a number if you are over 50 or under 50. Then it continues with a "can you hear me" prompt after some script. After saying YES, I had to hang up because it was clear that Jessica was automated and not where I should be. I reported the issue with the technology manufacturer representative and the issue was confirmed by the individual (after he called the number) that the phone number they provided from their internal directory may be hi-jacked. My spouse encountered a similar Jessica session last week while at work.
