My wife booked a flight through FOGGYFLY for her and I to fly with United Airlines to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. After paying the required $771.62 by credit card, we received an email notification with a booking "Agency Confirmation #: 28862" with the entire flight itinerary in details for both of us to fly United to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. A short time after booking our flight we received a call from FOGGYFLY representative (Ryan), informing us that United confirmed her ticket, but did not confirm my ticket. He told us that I was on a waiting list and that we would have to pay for a separate ticket in order for the two of us to fly together to our destination. He quoted us for the two of us to fly together, the new cost would be $1,543.24. After a bit of dispute, my wife at that point stated she wanted to cancel our flight, asking for a refund of the original price charged to our credit card. We were informed by Ryan that the $771.62 charged to our credit card was not refundable through FOGGYFLY, and that we would have to contact United Airlines to cancel her flight and request a refund. He tried to talk us into going ahead with the new price in order to guarantee our flight. After a bit of an argument, my wife finally had to just hang-up on the call. We contacted United Airlines but we were told that we would have to wait for the E-booking to be received before the flight arrangements could be canceled and our ticket refunded. This was a complete scam. FOGGYFLY sets the hook by offering a low price online on the desired flight and then once you complete your booking and pay for the flight by credit card and they know you are hooked, they present their scam. This is clearly fraud. As a retired law enforcement officer who last worked in a County District Attorney's Office in California as a fraud investigator, this is clearly a fraudulent scam company. I should also note that FOGGYFLY's representative (Ryan) spoke in broken English, clearly from a distant country. Also, please be advised that we have retained our original confirmation emails from FOGGYFLY and they are available upon request. We would like to hear back from BBB if at all possible, as to what if anything was, or could be done to stop this fraudulent company from scamming others in the future. It should also be noted that by Googling FOGGYFLY you can read the many other individuals that have been complained about being scammed in similar methods over recent times. And I'm sure there are many, many more that just paid the price in order to get their flights without additional hassles.
