Description

A position was posted on Glassdoor for Topside Marina to employ a data entry clerk for their business at a rate of $35/hr. I was hesitant because not long after submitting a basic application they emailed me for random information. Then they emailed to let me know I had been selected for an interview and to download the "signal" app to move forward with and interview with Lisa Donna. I downloaded the app after researching the website that publicly states it's looking into job scams when clicking on the "contact us" link. I also researched the signal app which confirms it is a secure end to end encryption between users so it is untraceable, unless you aren't on wifi. So balancing and thinking that they are suggesting the app because of the current scam involving their company I moved forward. I downloaded the app and messaged Lisa Donna. She invites me to an "interview." She sent a link to complete a questionnaire within 30 minutes of sending the link. I also researched the link and it is stated to be a secure version of a Google document. I completed the document, sent a message on the Signal app and she replied that my short interview was over and she would follow up with admin and then with me. A background and identity check would also be necessary. The exact mission statement from the website was sent to me and the "job requirements" was sent in a message. I was then asked "does of the mentioned duties sound coamplicated or difficult to handle?" I assumed this was one of many rushed grammatical errors from a hiring manager. However, I stated I was not familiar with the signal platform and if it would be our only form of communication, or if I could talk to someone by phone. "Lisa Donna" stated I would be able to talk to someone once my training was scheduled. Less than 24 hours later I was accepted to the team and received an offer letter in my email from the company. I received the email from an address of "[email protected]" with an offer letter, tax documents, and a direct deposit form. I sent a message back to good ol' Lisa Donna making her aware that this same scenario had been reported with her name included to the BBB and that I wanted to speak to someone before moving forward, she has not responded. The posting was taken down from all sites. The address listed brings up the Dallas Cowboys Stadium. If it sounds too good to be true, Google it.
