Call received from "grandson/nefphew)in trouble, car accident, broken nose, only have 1 five minute phone calls, please call his attorney, don't tell anyone. Attorney states nephew , involved in 2 car accident, in jail, needs cash $9000 bond. Driver of other vehicle pregnant admitted to hospital. Attorney will find a local (to us) bondsman and arrange to pick up bond. Arrangement made for courier to pick up bond gave detailed instructions with case# and tracking number marking internal envelope with case # and "nephews" name, larger external envelope with North Carolina"bondsman's " "name" and phone number. Courier arrived, parked at curb while we continued to talk to the"bondsman "in phone conversation. The guy on the phone explained that the courier could not leave his car unattended so I should take envelope to courier, still parked at curb and tell the driver that package was legal documents and should be hand delivered to the name ("bondsman's ") on outside of large envelope . The courier's dispatcher had all the information the driver needed to complete the delivery to the right place and the"bond,"would get the nephew released.
